Thanks! I was stuck with only saving 69 of the 70. You were absolutely right; a sneaky one was tucked so away in the steam. Love this game! Grew watching my dad play on his computer back in the 90s and now I'm playing on my fiancé's PS4. 🤞🏾 they keep around for the next gen. gamers.
It's remarkable that you mentioned you never played the 1st Oddworld games. ...because right now you're the only one I've seen whose actually playing it properly going into secret areas and such. ...keep up the good work kid! Job well done. ..
On 5:06 you don't need to go under that trap. You have to disable electricity, stand right next to trap and then call all of them to follow you and when they pass over that electricity. After that you enable electricity again and trap on bottom will be slow again so you can pass under. If some of them are still behide electricity trap you call only this one and move him away. ;)
I can't imagine them going over that edge with Abe being on the left side of the trap, but hey I'll give it a shot if I run into that sort of situation again. If it worked for you good on ya!
For me (and I think this is what the devs had in mind), I used the lever to speed up the grinder BEFORE rolling under the first time. Then, when you disable the electricity, it slows down the grinder and you don't have to do the daring roll twice. You see, if you leave the grinder slow, roll under and disable the electricity, it speeds up the grinder but you can't get all 3 from the middle platform to follow you past the electricity barrier. This is intentional, I believe.
Nice work man. I really like your quote "never played the original game". I am 35 and this game gave me lot of memories. I bought PS1 on 19th December 1997 (along with original disc of this game + Gran Turismo) for hard earned 7 thousand Czech crowns from my summer job. It was also my first year on high school. I cant believe its 18 years already. Thanks for bringing these memories.
Great video man. I had no idea these secret areas even existed (except the last part of Rupture Farms, but that isn't as hidden as these other ones). The original Abe's Oddysey was the very first Playstation game I ever owned. I actually asked for Abe's Exoddus because the commercials were all over TV but my mum didn't know better and got Abe's Oddysey. I'm actually very grateful for that mix-up because it started me off at the beginning of the franchise instead of on the 2nd title. Lorne Lanning is an absolute genius and this is by far my favorite series of Playstation games. Considering I'm actually more of an RPG fan, I think that says something about how incredibly well done these games are and from a lesser known developer (at the time). Back in the 90s, if you never heard of a developer chances are the game would be terrible because budgets were such a big deal back then and video games were incredibly expensive to make. Oddworld 4 Lyfe!!
Hey bloke, just wanted to say thanks for the help with saving the Mudokons! I played this game years ago on the original PS system (was actually one of my first games, along with Command and Conquer) although I usually killed off more Mudokon than I saved back then lol, it was good fun. Great game for a nostalgia kick and I am glad they brought this classic back, love it!!
Thank you so much for this. I've been searching for a channel that new all the secret passages and saved everybody. And it was a speed run. You earned a new sub.
It's really pleasant to listen to you make commentaries, far from other youtubers playing the games and getting a bit too involved (not that I don't like them as well). Keep making this type of video, it's great :)
I never get tired of playing this game. Played the original on ps1 back in the day and was hooked. Hoping for a remake of abes exodus some time. Great vid man
I love this game, I completed the original and am now on my second run through on New N Tasty but needing some help with a few of these secret areas I missed first time round. Got to say Brian, clear and light narration, fantastic videos man. You have a new sub...Pharp lol
Back in the 90s there were only100 mudokons to save, and you definitely didn't have all those secret areas. They managed to make an epic game even more mind blowing. Cheers buddy, you aced it!
I'm not sure exactly how they made it go from 99 to 299 (I did see one extra mudoken so far that wasn't in that spot at all in the first one, in the area where you enter zulag 2) but so far all the secret areas I've seen are the same as in the first one. But I'm not that far into the newer one yet so I can't say for sure but I'm curious how they did it.
@Lorenzp Corrtiore: I played the Original and yes there were only 99 and I do remember never being able to complete it as it didn't have quicksave or anything like that - so it was harder. The secret areas are in the exact same place as they were in the original game though, nothing new except extra ones in those areas and the one in Zulag 2 that Brian picks up as he isn't there in the original game.
Oh man, I've managed to get all achievements (PC version) and all that's left is "New 'N' Hasty". It's so difficult! I'll be studying your play through to try and shave the times off each section. Great run btw and awesome videos!
In original, you couldn't send more mudoks if you already sent any through the portal, it doesn't showed up again. So in order to save all of them in that zone, you had to group them up first in straight path to make them leave all at once
Thanks for the help! I played all of the original games, on PS1 but I left Rupture Farms, and 50 Muddokkans died! I had no idea that there were secret areas. Good lookin out!
Despite being someone who loves retro gaming I'm glad that a game like Abe's Odyssey was remade in HD because it was impossible to perfect without an in-depth guide in the original as you couldn't see the hatches due to the 2D environment and low-resolution graphics. Really enjoying the HD re-release as you can finally see the secret floor hatches although I do miss the old Abe voice but it's small loss in such an awesome game where your most powerful weapon is not a gun in your hand but a brain in your head to solve problems and save your fellow workers from being turn into lunch!
Started playing this last night and got stuck on a bit in the third area, found this video and just learned there are secret areas ! lol. Time to start a new game :)
Finally i got all the mudokons saved... after 4 tries in a row i didn't discover more than 20 :( I was always surprised to see some 50 dead when i reached the second level... now i use your videos to achieve mudokon savior :D
Hey man! Not sure how soon you'll respond to this, thankfully I found your review a couple days when I was having trouble finding the missing guys on the first level. I got to the last point and was like "okay, sure, I'll go through," only to find out when I got to the stockyards I was missing 50 mudokons and was like where the heck are these missing guys and then after some googling came across your walkthrough. Great job, great walkthrough! I play on XB1 and it's exactly the same thankfully haha
This is getting me nostalgic as hell. Had it on PSX 16/17 years ago, but don't have a PS4 (yet) . Really hope it incentivises Oddworld Inhabitants to create some all-new games; their brand of twisted is still pretty hilarious :D
Instead of rolling through the fast trap you can make everyone follow you, go to the left first, make them wait, go as close to the trap as you can, make them follow you again, then make them wait again and wait until they start cleaning the floor again, then go to the left of the lever and pull it and the trap is going slow again and everyone is outside of the electricity trap.
Thanks dude, a huge help! Was playin the same way I would the original, which didn't have trap doors but had secret entrances similar to the last spot - so I was really confused. Should definitely play the original as well as Abe's Exodus (the second one). Both killer games, lotta fun!
I was incredibly excited when they re-vamped this game for the PS4, this was definitely one of the most enjoyable franchises to grace the PlayStation. It's a shame, really, that OddWorld hasn't really maintained a huge presence in modern-day titles ... but I also understand that this isn't everyone's kind of game. Still, though, this is probably one of the best puzzle games I've played and the update was exactly what we wanted: the original game with some much-needed TLC.
10:58 Thank you... I'd thought Abe might be the last employee when I couldn't find anyone else. Now I need to reply the full blasted level yet again. >_
To bad you didn't play the original one it is so much harder than the the new n tasty one but like the floating bombs there was no way to get by and running from the scrab was very hard but challenging in a good way
At last! I watched several walkthrough videos searching for one player who also played these two great games years back. I was watching these walkthrough videos and I was commenting it continuously saying: "Hey, you missed that secret area!" or "Come on! You don't have to say them hello separately." and "God! Go right, then down, say them: follow me, go back, go left, chant, and that's all! Why are you so noob?" So all in all, I found out that these people are just getting familiar with the 'Oddworld' and Abe too. And finally I found you, and your videos and I said: At last! A real Oddworld gamer, who remembers every little secret and step in this great game and shows us. Thank you! You brought back my childhood. :)
If you are on the same level (floor) with the guys, you don't have to say "Hello". Just open the bird portals, and all of them, cleaning or following will jump through....
12:30 I just let the guy go in first and the slig didn't kill him. I guess prolly it really just has to do with timing. I have the original and my sister and I used to play this game all the time and complete it, so it brings back memories. I'm glad to see that they added more detail on what happened in the story line, cuz the original it was a bit vague. I love the cut scenes in the original, it was more life like, meaning it was alive, whereas here I can tell it's just a video game and it's not really like me being there. All in all I always love this game and am an Oddworld fan
Loved the game on PS original. Thrilled to be playing it again on the XBOX One... Sorry to all the PS4 guys and girls. Game play is the same though. Thanks for helping me with the end of the level, couldn't remember how to get out. Lift rope...!!!
I managed to finish the game the other day. Though I didn't manage to save everyone (250) I went through most of the game with no casualties though I missed one Mudokon in this level. I started another playthrough and finally found that one Mudokon hidden if you take that train. What a fucking stupid hiding place. I scoured the entire Zulag looking for that one Mudokon and it was there of all places. People aren't going to think to look there as the train isn't really needed until you return to Rupture Farms later in the game.
A walkthrough where you explain it verbally too?? This is my style. I like to keep a walkthrough up for games like this and sometimes I look away while I'm playing so this is 👌 So far I'm in love with this remake. It's still pretty hard, but a good bit of the frustration was taken out, such as the levers being sort of labeled, and some levers were added to be able to turn things off you couldn't before, etc. It's a crime that you play this without playing the first one. If you don't have an emulator, get one and download the rom now, because seeing how they improve the same scenes from the first one to this one is too cool. Every couple minutes I'm like "oh cool I couldn't even see that guy from here before!" Or "whoa they changed the doorway to a crazy elevator" etc. You HAVE to play the first one before this one, it should be a requirement. At least the first chapter or two.
Oh, and you can set those mines that are already solid green. Just go up to it and press the use button, and it's set so that the first thing that runs into it blows up!
Pretty sure that the single mudokon after the train is voiced by david hayter. I know he and a few others did guest voices but thats the only one i've found
I honestly just had to see why that door at the end wouldn’t open lol. I didn’t know you had the rope to be pulled up in, much less any secrets put into the game to free more. To make it more fair imo, I just solve the secrets myself and didn’t bother looking for help.
You said you haven't played the original, you should. Its now "retro" but still all the hidden are the same. There is also more Mudokens. Either way thanks for the uploading
Abe was trying to save his species from being eaten by their masters who enslaved them, I remember that being part of story when I first played the game at the age of 8 or 9. Maybe the Mudokons wud eat us humans if they'd ever meet us
oh trust me sometimes i really hate these hidden area because they are extremly hard, when I was 5 i hated them a lot that I didnt bother to go to them {in the 1st game}
wanderfull guide =D if u haven't tried the original on psx, i'll suggest you to try the next chapter of this game: Oddworld Abe's Exoddus. unfortunately there isn't a remake xD but is really a good sequel. thanks for this video walkthrought really a good work =D
Best walkthrough videos I have ever used. Having such a detailed and clear commentary really stands out above others. Well done.
i played the first one and had no idea about the trap doors or secret areas. i couldnt figure out where all the dudes were at. thanks man.
Thanks! I was stuck with only saving 69 of the 70. You were absolutely right; a sneaky one was tucked so away in the steam.
Love this game! Grew watching my dad play on his computer back in the 90s and now I'm playing on my fiancé's PS4. 🤞🏾 they keep around for the next gen. gamers.

It did it the same way. I had to individually move one of them after though lol

If it wasn’t for you dude I never would’ve known about the trap doors thank you so much and bless your mudokon heart
Remember playing this on PS1. Love how it is the same layout. And more modernised detailing. I love it, love it, love everything about it.
Great video man. I had no idea these secret areas even existed (except the last part of Rupture Farms, but that isn't as hidden as these other ones). glad this game is coming to Steam. I've already pre ordered this game :) btw who wants a remake of Abe's Exoddus?
Me
Absolutely
xy394 they released SoulStorm gameplay
This game bring back a lot of memories. One of those weird games I never really knew I had. Love it to death though.

Thank you! I was going nuts trying to find all of the mudokons!
Thank you so much for this. I've been searching for a channel that new all the secret passages and saved everybody. And it was a speed run. You earned a new sub.
Thanks for sharing your experience in this game i really enjoy watching your videos and make me finish all the games with all trophies
Great vid man
Excellent guide, dude. This is how all guides should be done! Keep up the good work and thanks.
I love this game, I completed the original and am now on my second run through on New N Tasty but needing some help with a few of these secret areas I missed first time round. Got to say Brian, clear and light narration, fantastic videos man. You have a new sub...Pharp lol
Good news for people who don't know! Abe's exoddus is getting a remake as well due out late 2017-early 2018.
Original493
Still waiting....

Finally a person that doesn't skip secrets like other people. It pisses me off :L well done '
I grew up with this game! Best one ever! It's a lot of fun, and loved every moment of it. Now my husband bought it for me! This is great.
I love this game! Just watched and followed along and it’s shocking how many of his buddies you can easily miss! Thank you for sharing 👍😀👍
Holy crap your quick dude, finding all the secrets and saving all the guys, I ain't even saved em all on the PS1 yet lol.
Yay! I never knew there were that many secret areas! Loved this game since I was a kid on the ps1!
In original, you couldn't send more mudoks if you already sent any through the portal, it doesn't showed up again. So in order to save all of them in that zone, you had to group them up first in straight path to make them leave all at once
Played the originals on PS2 and loved them and this one is even better, thanks for the walkthroughs, great job.
Thank you so much for these videos. In my first play through I missed thro all of the secret locations. This videos helped a lot. Thanks.
man much respect, i watched you on unchartered 1 to 4. I did it all. Now oddword, god you are the best player.
Excellent video! I never thought there would be so many secrets this early in the game
I got this game a while back and oh man was I missing a lot of those mudokons. Thanks so much.
Thanks for the help! I played all of the original games, on PS1 but I left Rupture Farms, and 50 Muddokkans died! I had no idea that there were secret areas. Good lookin out!
Very helpful thanks alot, would have never guessed those secret areas.
awesome! Thanks man! I had no idea those trapdoors even existed. Great vid.

I know, when I first played it I was like "that's not Abe's voice" :( hehe
man that roll passing those fast shredders is impossible
Started playing this last night and got stuck on a bit in the third area, found this video and just learned there are secret areas ! lol. Time to start a new game :)

Its actually more fun watching this and then doing it than just going through the game by myself. Strange.
the ps4 remaster is gorgeous. what a classic.
This is getting me nostalgic as hell. Had it on PSX 16/17 years ago, but don't have a PS4 (yet) . Really hope it incentivises Oddworld Inhabitants to create some all-new games; their brand of twisted is still pretty hilarious :D
Thank you!!! Love the game. Very great guide. I'll never find any secret area without your guidance 🤗
Thanks for making these videos, I had no idea about half these areas.
Thank u alot man u really helped me
I hope u continue these videos till the platinum trophy : )
Fantastic guide, got me my new n hasty trophy. Thank you
You make it look so easy lol. Thank you for the tips.
Thanks for help man i played this through on hard mode and missed loads of mudokons from not knowing secret area locations . This helped thankyou
As always I really enjoyed your walk-trough, thank you and oh yeah you got yourself a new subscriber. Alex in Stockholm, Sweden 😎👌
Thanks dude, a huge help! Was playin the same way I would the original, which didn't have trap doors but had secret entrances similar to the last spot - so I was really confused.
Should definitely play the original as well as Abe's Exodus (the second one). Both killer games, lotta fun!
I really enjoyed Abe's Exodus too
Great video, thankyou very much! Couldn't think of who you reminded me of then it came to me, you sound very similar to Sandy Ravage
I was incredibly excited when they re-vamped this game for the PS4, this was definitely one of the most enjoyable franchises to grace the PlayStation. "if I done fuck up" PS4 trophies
10:58 Thank you... I'd thought Abe might be the last employee when I couldn't find anyone else.
Now I need to reply the full blasted level yet again. >_
To bad you didn't play the original one it is so much harder than the the new n tasty one but like the floating bombs there was no way to get by and running from the scrab was very hard but challenging in a good way
Oh Thank you! all I could find was some guy who can't figure out simple puzzles. I can't wait to watch!
Why are you so noob?"

Thank you! You brought back my childhood. :)
If you are on the same level (floor) with the guys, you don't have to say "Hello". Just open the bird portals, and all of them, cleaning or following will jump through....
great job, i was really getting pissed everytime i got to the next chapter and it tells me i left 40 mudokons to die.
Good job just got finished this part, couple of bits were tricky, I hate they mines you need to time and the grinders haha.
I want more trophy guide from you! Really Thanks!
Exceptional guide, PS4Trophies :)
Thank you, i played this back i 1998 and just found those Hidden places.I want more of yours abs's Oddesey Guideline.
You don't always have to say hello to them, just chant and they will go through the portal if they are working or not!
Loved the game on PS original. Thrilled to be playing it again on the XBOX One... Sorry to all the PS4 guys and girls. Game play is the same though. Thanks for helping me with the end of the level, couldn't remember how to get out. Lift rope...!!!
found this game in my xbox game pass and I have to say it's a great game all around I enjoyed it and ty for the video
first time playing this... and already loosing all the mudokons on the secret area...
Thank You. Very helpful. Enjoyed watching and playing :)
In the first secret room you can do it as a group first and they will all come much faster and safely
I actually enjoyed "All of Ya!" more than "Everybody!" :(
"All 'o' y'all" is the best
I managed to finish the game the other day. Though I didn't manage to save everyone (250) I went through most of the game with no casualties though I missed one Mudokon in this level. this game gives me so much good memories from ps1 :)
"that way if I done fuck up" said so casually. 😂
I love Oddworld New 'N' Tasty.
omg dude, thanks for this...I didn't realize he could possess those guys!
Me neither!
Pretty sure that the single mudokon after the train is voiced by david hayter. I know he and a few others did guest voices but thats the only one i've found
Bad ass man couldn’t be better
So much Yes! Thank you dude!
Absolutely love this game!!!
I cant wait till the 27th on Xbox 1 then ill play that awhile and take a break from Trials Evolution and Trials Fusion!
I honestly just had to see why that door at the end wouldn’t open lol. I didn’t know you had the rope to be pulled up in, much less any secrets put into the game to free more. To make it more fair imo, I just solve the secrets myself and didn’t bother looking for help.
