      @The_RC_Dude 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How did you band the dropper? I've heard of a few people who bent their saddle rails a little bit on really hard landings, but how did you manage to bend a dropper post when riding? Or was it more of a "put it on the workstand, didn't tighten the clamp all the way, bike fell and the dropper is bent" thing?

    • @joeyhochgesang1391
      @joeyhochgesang1391 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      It came pre-bent from the previous user. He must have wrecked and bent the insertion post backward. The paint is scraped off on the back of the dropper from where it rubs. The whole post is very loose as well, and rattles and creaks all over the place.

    My first mtb is exactly this one 2021 model. I changed the bar with higher rise from 15mm (stock) to 30mm, and a shorter bar stem. Also, changed my derailleur from Sx to Gx. Bought the Wolf tooth headset kit. Set my air right and dampening values on my suspension. And that’s all I did on my bike. Went to the trail, took my first 2 trail tracks (ever…. Because why not) which are Expert and advanced. Bike was great soaking all the bumps from roots rocks drops whatever an expert track has. Went home gone through the bike, didn’t break or bend anything. Great Value bike!

    Hey Paul! With the $500 I would upgrade myself and my wife's helmets! Both of them are old we are in need of a new set! Gotta stay safe while your shred!
    Keep it up, love the channel!

    I have just done this with a kona Big honzo. I bought the low spec bike because it was all that was available. Then upgraded my Enduro bike and handed down the better stuff to the hardtail. Then sold off my new takeoff stuff. Between the pile of parts I already had and then the new part limitations I kept having to buy more and more little stuff to make it all work. I hate the I spec v and I spec 2 compatability issues.

    Paul! Love the channel homie. I would buy a bunch of stuff I’m missing in my setup. Downhill helmet, one up pump, etc, etc. 🤙🏼🤙🏼

    restoring my 2012 stumpy and with all the new standards, EVERYTHING is impossible to get hold of. could really use the 500$ to get some non boost wheels and a dropper! if there's still enough i'll top up to get myself a 1x drivetrain!😋

    I was able to get a RM Growler 20 a few weeks ago. Definitely a value bike. I would used the $500 to upgrade parts so it could compete against the higher trim levels of the Growler.

    I actually just got a 2021 Giant Trance 27.5 about 2 months ago and I’ve been dying to get some new part on it but haven’t gotten the money to do so. 500 bucks would for sure help get my bike looking fresh!

    I would spend $500 on a new deore groupset for my bike. The video you posted where you helped out your buddy Chris was got me looking at groupsets and the deore was a really good value for money.

    Would definitely spend the $500 for comfort and performance upgrades! Namely a dropper (badly need one ngl), a better saddle, a pair of Five Tens, and protective equipment!

    Definitely need a new casset, new saddle (mine is bent in half right now) new pedals, suspension service kit as i would really like to start serviceing them myself and a good couple nick nacks like new chain guide

    I have a 90s specialized Hardrock I want to update a bit for road and gravel. 500 could get me some drop bars, controls, and maybe a saddle that isn't a torture device.

    I'd spend the $500 on a bleed kit for my brakes and Reverb seatpost. As well as some additional tools like a torque wrench set, sealant, and cleaning supplies. Any money left over would be used on a new pair of shorts and gloves. probably some extra brake pads too.

    You should do a review on the new 2021 Giant Talon 2. I've had mine for 4 months now and I believe it's one of the best beginner mtb for $650 USD.

      Around that price point the Schwinn Axum DP is also worth looking at. Similar specs, $150 less, and it comes with a dropper post.

    With $500 I'd get a set of cushcore (haven't gone tubeless yet), possibly a new set of tires & apparel because you gotta look good on the trail!

    With the 500 beans I would love to buy some upgrades for my trance x 2 that I’m getting in November, things like a new cockpit, pedals, maybe put it towards some brakes, things like that!

    You should do a super budget series with the $1300 Fathom hardtail. It looks like one of the best new hardtails for the value and I haven't found anyone really talking about it.

    Well, it seems my "dropper post" is working very well: I have to stop, get off my bike, loosen the clamp and then lower it. At bottom, I then have to reverse the whole process. LOL 😂

    I’m a new Rider bought my first real mtb (2018 Scott Scale 950) last year and am now moving out to ride some trails but my bikes brakes and lack of dropper are limiting my abilities to enjoy the Trails. With the 500$ I’d buy some new Shimano Pads Rotors and Most likely Calipers and buy myself a dropper post so I can enjoy the trails!

    Hey Paul, I recently just got a long-overdue new bike, and I would put the new money to upgrading to metallic sintered pads, getting new grips, and investing in a OneUp EDC tool, similar to what you have done in this video. Cheers!
    P.S. I watched it twice. :)

    I would refresh with Kenda tires and update PPE for the new season (pads, helmet, kit).
