As far as I know Ronnie did this because he felt the original didn't do the lyrics justice and his musical and vocal abilities have grown in the years in between.
He wrote the lyrics while being in prison, getting clean from drugs (heroin I think) and looking at himself in the mirror.

I'm sure this is has been answered already because I'm so late to the party, lol, but Ronnie was definitely not happy with his voice in the original. He was in the studio literally weeks after a 2.5 year prison sentence, during which he hadn't been able to sing at all. He's done so much work on/with his voice and his life since then, it's incredible. So much creativity!

The new versions definitely show growth and I believe the depth of the lyrics are more suited for and also much more felt in the reimagined and revamped versions. I'm going to see falling in reverse for the first time next month at the blue ridge Rock festival along with a ton of other amazing artists the line up is insane I'm so stoked I can't wait 😁
