Tip: For the curls at the end, you actually don't need extra hair, you can just create a Bantu knot with hair thread and then dip it into the hot water, and then cut the thread and it would curl very nicely, I do it all the time

girl your hair is growing out so nicely bianca. Looked Amazing. I cant usually keep my hair in braids for more than 1 to 2 wks for the most. the irritation gets real in my hair, even if i do proper preparation before during and after.

SpringBby Jay True, but I've straighten out my hair before and my stylist said it was easier that way.. Guess it depends what type of hair you have.
I don't do any of that, my hair would die if I use any heat on it.

I use the same brand for my braids but the 45 incher. My stylist doesn’t braid it all the way down and then dips it. Comes out kinky. It works for my look. Love the video and I literally do the the same prep too.

10:39, you can recurl your hair the same well. You can also seal them with a quick tap of a flat iron set at 350.

Brie Rose I go with buns or simple braids (Dutch, French, regular 3 strand) and apply leave in to the outer parts! I have 3b curls.

Brie Rose honestly I wish I could just tell you that you can wear braids on behalf of all the black community but unfortunately it doesn’t work like that I know curly hair can be tiring to deal with lol I hope you find some protective styles for your hair though

Little tip if you want your braids curled at the end, you don’t have to add in curly pieces. You can just dip the ends of the braids in really hot water for a few minutes and it’ll curl up. The hotter the water, the deeper the curl. Just make sure the hair is non-flammable.
Ive never seen anyone actually straighten their hair to get braids, more than likely people are just blowing out their hair. When you have type 4 hair its painful to try and part/ section your hair if its not stretched good enough. & for me personally with a little 3c and 4a, two braids as a stretching method still makes my roots shrink/ tangle up.
I was literally thinking the same thing. Her hair texture is in the 3's so she can do this method but my hair texture is 4a. If I were to do this method, I would be a tangle mess. I have to blow dry my hair

Those are like dutch braids. It's like a Regular 3 strand braid where the strands go over eachother except the dutch braid strands go under. It's basically a reversed regular braid (actual dutch braids start at the scalp, (like one or two big cornrows) but its the same reversed braid once you get to the length of it though)
Put the rods on the end of the hair and then dip them in hot water to seal with curly ends.

Lol thinking of getting box braids, never done it & wasn’t sure what to do since everyone’s like ‘straighten your hair before you come’ like..... my hair is curly by the time I detangle and get to you... it’s probably going to be all knotted up and curled again 😅 🤦🏽♀️💁🏽♀️

I have braided my hair before (i actually braid them almost ever winter so they could rest) in all my research i couldn’t quite figure out how to dip the braids in hot water with out affecting the synthetic curl hairs....you said on the video you used super glue on the ends (???) did it work and did you still dip your hair in hot water after gluing it??🤔🤔

Bianca, I also have 3b/3c curls, also very fine. I got box braids for the first time last month and two days later my natural hair was slipping out/sticking out at random spots. I took them out because they were medium to jumbo sized and I thought that since I do have fine hair and the braids are large, that’s what is causing it. I had it done by a friend. Last week I got it done again by a professional, this time small braids, and I’m having the same issue. The stylist said the hair I used the first time was no good, so I got the hair she recommended, and I was just wondering if you had this issue?
I do protect them at night by wrapping, I’m not rough with them or anything, it just kinda started happening.

You are sooooo good . This is helpful. I have been considering getting box braids for a while but I'm still not sure. What if my scalp gets damaged? What if I loose TONS of hair? Will they hurt? Will I get headaches? Are they heavy? What's the maintenance like?
Zoila Morra you most likely won’t experience extremen hair loss if you specify with your stylist that you don’t want the braids too tight. But be mindful that your hair sheds anywhere from 50-100 strands a day. So if you keep them in for a month minimum you will have a lot of hair when you remove the braids. So don’t freak out just make sure your stylist listens to you and oil your scalp. I was also skeptical about getting my hair braided because my hair is very fine but my stylist listened to what I wanted and I was able to keep my braids in for about a months and a half without headaches, heaviness, and extreme hair loss.

I always just wash my hair and then put in two -two strand feed in twist (don't know how elese to describe ...like doing two cornrows but their twist instead) and as I go down I detangle and smoothen ...then I wrap em around my head and pin at the top....sleep with a bonnet and then wear em the next day once they're dry and I take them out my hair literally looks like I straightened it and then wrapped it with pins bc of the waves....and there's like zero knots.....its just faster and easier to me to do twist rather then braids

Use a perm rod on the curls, THEN dip. The curl will still be there after and the rest will be sealed.
