It's not expensive if you can recruit roommates to split the rent. Avoid the expat community and step out of the comfort zone if you really want to experience the authentic local life or cultivate your language skills. Just my little two cents.
The second one in French Concession is clearly the best apartment (condition and design), although not the best view and most expensive in this group. French Concession is my favorite neighborhood, not just because mother grew up there but the area is close to everything and has such an amazing vibe. I highly recommend that you learn how to cook even if you can afford to eat out every day. If you cook, you can eat essentially the same food for a fraction of the cost. In the spirit of sustainability, give it a try! You may even like it.
GREAT to see you vlogging again, Nayomie! LOVE your videos and your amazing positive personality! Keep it up! Of course, I can't wait to see your follow-up video! I recall your apartment in the last city you lived it seemed so much nicer and was probably a lot cheaper but I suppose that's how it is in a top-tier city like Shanghai! Similar to Hong Kong and Singapore. Good luck!
Friendly forward the recent vlog from Nayomie about her apartment hunting in Shanghai. I personally think that she have an excellent sense of lifestyle to choose the apartment in Jiangan District, the center district with a lot of old building and bars in Shanghai...with my thousands of friends and followers in Linkedin. Wish her a merry Christmas and new year 2023 as well as you all....
Good vid. My daughter lives in the French Quarter and is just moving out . She couldnt take the noise. The market right next to her starts making noise at 3AM. Her new place is 18 stories high!
Changning district is the next best district if you want that French concession vibe and is more affordable for what you are looking for, I have lived in the french concession before and do not regrets moving to Changning district at all as it is look a lot like the french concession, especially around Jiaotong University metro. Also, anything near Jiangsu metro station is also super nice and affordable :).
according to feng shui, kitchen stove shouldnt be below where u sleep. my belief is some people might forget to turn of the stove while sleeping and gonna get burnt while sleeping
welcome to Shanghai, enjoy your life here, for me personally, I prefer to live in a newly built house no matter it's in city center or a little big further away, after all, it's a convenient city
I remember you said this when you first came to china "I will leave china right after I finish my job contract" but that was long time ago and you are still in china.
Wait! From 5:17 to 6.00 - was that a proposal in some way? I hope a lucky man (good man) in Shanghai gets your message. 🙏Great video! Thank you for sharing.
Lol... Cliff hanger for real....I had to comment about the dirty shower... Like for real... They could have at least clean it that's bad...But I love the apt. Hunting...
agent but didn’t paid any extra fees. i just went to the neighborhood where I wanted to live and visited a few agencies. i feel like there’s one at almost every corner lol :) however, ive found my current apartment through an app
It will be difficult to get with the budget of 10k RMB an Appartement which meets all your expectations. Maybe you shall look out of the French Quarter and Jing‘an. The transportation by metro, taxi or didi is so much convenient in Shanghai that you must necessarily live „down town.“ In case the apartment is dirty and you dislike the furniture you should ask the landlord for professional cleaning (the a/c cleaning is a must!) and exchanging of the furniture. My landlord is n nice old Shanghai lady and changed the furniture I disliked. I wish you find a nice apartment soon.
I lived in Hangzhou for about 4 years in my fair share of apartments. Never paid over 4000/month and always lived in great areas, with nice space/furniture. If you want to rent alone or you have a partner you would want to share your space with, I loved living at Zhongtian Xichengji on Yuhangtang Road. Nice spacious lofts in a gated 'community' with friendly security, nice space to walk around downstairs and lots of young people living there. It's close to a great shopping mall, movie theatre, supermarket, gym (basically everything you can ever need) and the river which is really nice to walk/bike/run along. I highly recommend it.
@@ashleyhxwkins22 thanks to you and the other for replies. Thinking Hangzhou, Shenzhen, or Chengdu for digital nomad stay. Did Beijing 7 years ago and while fun, looking for more chill vibe while still being in large city.
Did you learn that cliffhanger thing from Netflix?
No, my battery was about to die 😂😂 I knew I couldn’t film the other apartment anymore lol
Thx for sharing Naomi
Yioi can.
@@NayomiqueOfficial you sound like a nagging girl hahahahaha lol 😂😂

I loved apartment 6 except for the dark hall. Can't wait to see what you get.

Haha, those prices to me are cheap. Where I live here in California, those prices would be very cheap.

True 😂😂😂
@@NayomiqueOfficial what made you stay back ?

I will choose to live in the suburbs, where the house is updated and the price is only half.

The last apartment was probably lived in by an expat, too.
You need to loosen up your location criteria.
Did you use a rental app or an agent

The audio seems to be up and down intermittently. Wondering if it's my speaker or the video?
Probably your speaker.
10k budget? Damn
She is rich isn't, she ?
Curious, how far would 10,000 rmb go for an apartment in Hangzhou? Just a tad better or a whole lot?
You can already get a nice apartment for 2-3k in Hangzhou. It’s way more affordable.
只要不是北京、上海、深圳,房租都很便宜。

Jing An is an expensive area.
Hi beautiful lady what is the situation in Shanghai Conora virus?
It’s fine. No more covid restrictions 🎉
You don’t cook nor clean?? So what do you do??
being a strong independent woman that don't need no man
aka cat lady
Just drink, eat and poop!
Nicki: yes I do the cooking, yes I do the cleaning
Cardi: I don't cook, I don't clean
I thought by now you would tell us which apartment you have rented. Hopefully you are not homeless.
Posted next week! Haven’t had the time to edit yet 🥺
Good luck
Somebody didn't bother with finishing school
