Valhalla Calling but it's a Movie Soundtrack

  • Listen to the call, the Vikings cometh!
Valhalla Calling is a song created for the not-so-popular game, "Assassin's Creed: Valhalla." The song has a very catchy tune and it makes any of it's listeners kneel before the might of Thor and Tyr.
I spent a good chunk of time changing things for this song to sound even more dramatic than it already is. This is actually the first time I have worked on a more dramatic soundtrack, and I believe I delivered it tenfold.
Now if you'll excuse me, I hear Valhalla's Call.

There's a mistake that I just noticed in the video. The composer is not SpiritofSound, it's actually MiracleofSound. please make sure to give him the support he deserves

    MOVIE: Valhalla Calling Me
When a mere mortal goes into the British Royal Museum with his son dog Mjolnir, he finds a lost relic of a hammer which ironically enough is the name of his dog, which he kept the name of, because he thought it sounded interesting. Coming from the faith of Christianity, and a devout Protestant, he knew the ways of God, or did he? His faith would be questioned when a deceiver named Odin, master of IKEA, came up to him and said "Nice hammer, and good dog! Let me guess, Mjolnir is the name of your dog? Look how happy he is!". This moment would change his name, and would spark an interest in Norse mythology, while Odin learned about the true God. In the end, we learn it's the perception of humanity whose God is real. Let's set our differences aside.

Its a good video, but there a just some things that is not correct, and it seems you actually did not look into anything, or did any research for the video.
And I do find that a bit weird. Making a video about something, and making comments about without making sure you done the research to make the video.
And I am not talking about you getting the band name wrong. Even though there is more to that, because this version is not the original Miracle of sound version either, but a version they did with Peyton. Something you have in the information below. But not in the text in the video. And its two very distinct versions.
But when you write " While the game may not be popular " ? where do you get that from?
Assassin's Creed Valhalla has become the franchise's most successful title yet, surpassing 1 billion dollars.
Now that is not just good within the franchise. But very few games of this type will ever get close to that.
And I am not attacking you, I just do not understand why you put it information you have not researched.
Because the music it self is fire. So adding comments to it that are then incorrect removes focus from the music.
Might just be me that have a thing about doing research for things you make content about.
Regardless of that, good work on the music.

    • @gemini_riff
      @gemini_riff  ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thank you for the criticism, I do appreciate it. I do know that it isn't the original MiracleofSound version, as it includes both Peyton Parrish and Eric Halloway (both credited in the description.) A lot of people have said that they disagree with my stance on it not being a popular game, which to be fair, I did not word it correctly in the slightest. What I meant was specifically the player scores that did not seem to hold that high of an opinion of the game. I have heard and read numerous complaints about it from people that have played it, and last I saw (which was a while ago, so it could be different), it was around 3.5/3.6 rating from players. So I have done the research, it is just worded wrongly in the video, which is entirely my fault.
And lastly, the fact that I got the band wrong... yeah. I am genuinely extremely upset about that, I don't understand why my brain decided to do SpiritofSound. There is almost no correlation between the names, and its something that makes me consider taking down the video entirely, but I no longer have a backup of the mp4 so... it stays up flawed.
Again, thank you for the honest criticism. I am not a good video maker, as evident, and am hoping to pass that torch to someone else from now on.

      @@gemini_riff Mistake happens.
As to the "popular" or not.
What you have put in, is then a personal opinion. You make it sound like the facts does not show it as popular.
You hearing it from people around you make it personal. since those then become your words.
If you look at the scores of the game, and information its getting great acclaim. Made them a billion dollars, best selling Assassins creed game ever. 2 best game ever made by Ubisoft in terms of income ( Actually think it has become the best selling now )
In a time where a lot of games had/have a really hard time, Valhalla was generally a positive thing, based on numbers, players and all the factual stats we can now see years later.
My point is more I do not get why you would put that bit in, in the first place. it seems out of place. And then when you put it in the context of how popular it actually really was, it seem weird, and have nothing to do with the music work.
And don't get me wrong, I am not even a Valhalla fanatic. I am a historian. And have played the series since the first game came out. It did have issues, massive games always have, but they supported it, and listened to the players, that is also why people liked it.
It was more historical correct than the tv shows and all the other hollywood crap. They actually tried to showcase the time. Not based on the Hollywood version. Again something that was a plus.
But yea, not really important. Not important enough for me to write all of this either.
I just found it weird, at 4am when I should be sleeping to put that in. Something that seem as a personal view with no regard to what the numbers actually say.
But thanks for the video, and reply.
About you not being a good video maker, I do not think that is the case. The "mistakes" is not about lack of skill, but lack of focus.
The name, honest mistake. Bet you learned from it, so next time you have basic information on a page to copy paste in. And if the subject is about music, keep it that way. avoid statements that declare something, just stick to the subject. Had you just written it was made by that band, for this game with clear information, it would have been about the music.
Again not trying to have a go at you. But would be a shame if you stop doing what you do based on what is small mistake. We learn from mistakes. And by doing them we get to see them so we can understand them. And that is how our skills evolve.
Double down on information and stay true to the goal of the point of the creation. If you are doing a review of something, then personal stuff, make it clear its a personal view. If you are doing a historical input, than use history and put in where what you say originate from. If you do music and that is your thing, then just tell the story of the music.
But yea, I done it again, a long message. From something that never should have been one to begin with.
Point is, you should keep doing it if you like it, there will be mistakes. But mistakes are the best way to learn how to create the exceptional.
