As an art student this upsets me on so many levels. In the RYB color wheel there’s secondary colors (green, orange, purple) and tertiary colors (red-orange, yellow-orange, yellow-green, blue-green, blue-violet, and red-violet). Black only exists in the absence of light while white only exists in the purest form of visible light. Neither are considered colors but can be added to colors to create shades or tints. I bestow my knowledge upon the people of the comment section.

It's because in traditional art black is a very strong colour, you would need to add so much red to notice a difference with the black. Since it's a very strong colour it's (nvm i give up on trying to explain😭)
typically artists avoid using black in their work, this applies to everything from digital line art, shadows, oil paints, acrylics, and especially watercolors
If you noticed that they skipped purple, it's because mixing purple with red and blue paints almost always comes out muddy unless you use very specific primary paints.
