After Mom Gave My Inheritance to My Brother, I Got Her a Gift That Made Her Regret Everything

  • They say blood is thicker than water, but what happens when your own mother decides you're worth less than your sibling? When she handed over our family estate to my brother with those cutting words, "He deserves it more," I walked away determined to prove her wrong. Years of hard work and sacrifice later, she came knocking at my door, expecting me to fund her retirement - but I had a different kind of gift in mind. Let's just say the look on her face when she opened that envelope was worth every penny I'd earned on my own, and taught her a lesson about underestimating the child she cast aside.

A very well written story that showed a young woman in a determined and strong light. It highlighted the inequities of gender bias and the mind set that assumes that a male is more competent and able than a female and therefore more deserving. Despite being robbed of her inheritance and abandoned by her family this young woman achieves great success, only to be hounded by her manipulating mother and feckless brother who more or less demand that she saves them. I believe that the strength of the story is in the young woman’s refusal and determination that these two spongers face the consequences of their own actions, rather than immediately forgiving them and being used once again. More stories like this please!

I love how this story wasn’t just about revenge, but about redefining success and family. It’s a reminder that real strength comes from choosing growth over grudges. Absolutely amazing storytelling

I agree. I could feel Ingrid’s hurt and anger, but I could also feel her change when she realized that she was becoming the one thing she hated most-her mother. Kudos to the narrator who was able to convey all that. Job well done!

I can't believe Ingrid's mother would act like that! But I'm glad Ingrid found a way to not only seek revenge but also seek forgiveness. What a valuable lesson!

Ingrid’s mother is getting more than she deserves! Ingrid’s brother conveniently finds the letter mom was undoubtedly hiding and thinks that means she should bail their a$$es out!

This story have its flaws, like the convenient dad's letter that changes Ingrid's mind, but overall this story is way, way better written than the standard AI story in youtube, and, for once, the forgiveness ending seem.... fitting. I still want to see one of these stories end with a cold vengeance, not a "success is the best revenge" ending.
If it were by me, Mom would end in the retirement home, I would block or get a restraining order against the brother, and maybe push away Clint and live alone in the rich condo with my Company... Heh, sure I'm petty.

Too damn many ads spoil the appreciation of the story. I opened it at 8:19 to the first advertisement. Then there were others at 8;23, 8:28, 8:34, 8:42, 8:48, 8:54, 8:59! They ruined my appreciation of the story. You can do better than this by being less greedy.

The "help" is only effective if the recipient is willing to work for the chance and keeps working . There is no cure for addiction unless the addict wants it like no tomorrow, which is what many addicts get, no tomorrow. It is a sad fact for all, addict, enabler, and battered friends and family.

Mom is lucky that her daughter relented, after what she did. It reamains to be seen if the family will truly get back together. Can someone change their intrinsic personality?
However, in the story, we get these very repetitive phrases, i.e. " ... Are you okay?" "No:" "But I will be." Those three phrases appear in nearly every story like this one. As soon as I read the first phrase, I knew what the answer was going to be. No surprises there. It also appears later on. It gets tedious. They need to find a different phrase to keep things interesting.
