to solve the first problem, how did u define that you have to solve this problem in NlogN ? what was the technique?

I often read the input and constraints of the problem, a 1e9 for loop runs in about 1s in C++ and the majority of problems have the constraints of about 2s. So you can divide that and find the complexity needed for the problem:) Hope that helps
