Don't know if you're still responding to comments but how do you find this exhaust? I have the exact same bike and I am getting bored with the stock sound, but don't want to piss off any neighbors in my apartment complex.
I left the baffle in, but I also ride with earplugs and I think it's perfect. But when I don't ride with earplugs, it's a bit loud on the bike, but from a distance it's fine.
Since it's just an end can, I wouldn't say you "need" to. If you can afford to, then go for it. For the record, I remaped mine using TuneECU. Very cheap software for what it does. You can get it on your phone.
