It's kind of unfortunate how youtube favors long format to this category of videos so videos like yours gets hard to find. It's always someone telling you a story first about their grandma's cookie recipe and their ongoing divorce. Anyway this is a long comment so hopefully it helps with the algorithm.
That's very kind of you to say. I'm very happy you appreciate the video. Thanks for your appreciative comment
I like the short ones because I keep notes, and the heading tells me the operation. I can go to the notes and I can do what is listed. Just my way because of a short memory

how can you save the image onto a transparent background? (in the video you insert Homer onto a new background, but if i don't want a background at all) because i tried saving the image without a background and it just turned into a white background by default. is there a way i can stop that from happening?
Once the background has been removed, export the image as a PNG file. Good luck 👍

@@usemybox one more thing i want know, is it possuble to make a text slanted downward as slanting a text upward is possible by using italic font but how can we do if we want to slant it downward
@@avinashkumarverma6543 Good question. Select the text layer and there are two methods which may give you the effect you desire, the Rotate tool will change the angle of your text or use the Perspective tool to create the slant you require, moving the points of the layer to achieve the slant 👍

How can I make a tiled image after using this technique with the transform tool instead of map/tile?
Using the transform tool you could scale your image down then copy and paste as a new layer multiple times over a larger canvas but using the Map > Tile tool would be easier. Good luck

Is merging transparent layer the same as add alpha channel?
When you add a second layer to an image, that creates an alpha channel.
@@usemybox Ah I see, probably a missing feature in older versions? I simply right click on the layer and select "add alpha channel" these days

Hey mate, I have a question. My backround is black and as it works, it deleted parts of the character(foreground) that is also dark in color/ black. Can u tell me how to revert just a small portion that i dont want to be touched? Thanks a lot, cheers
It might be because at some part of your image there is no clear separation by a line of a different colour. In this video, you can remove the background by cutting around the image which may work better for you: th-cam.com/video/gpyri-tfkqw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=1RvyGth9QdgfqMS_
thx a lot, but this one is tedious, i tried, have no actual patience for it@@usemybox
thx a lot for the reply, this one is tedious, doing it by hand felt menta, would take too long@@usemybox
@@stevokucinsky630 I know what you mean. I always try this method rather than cutting around the image as it's time consuming
I wonder if YT is deleting my replies or is just bugged into oblivion, but i did it. "Laso select" pixel by pixel copy of the part i want to keep onto a new working tab (space), and after aplying bucket fill to get rid of the bacround copy paste it back onto the original layer.@@usemybox
thx bro
Thank you for your positive comment. I'm very happy the video was helpful
when i did the bucket fill bit it removed his shirt aswel how do i stop that from happening
If there is a defined line missing between colours that are the same, both parts of the image will be removed. Where all of your options correct as per the video?
What do you export the file as? I saved it as png but it was horrendous
I usually save it as Gimp XCF file first (this is so I can edit the layers in the future if I need to make changes). Then I Export As and choose PNG file.
@@usemyboxfor some reason the image has random streaks and looks really bad. How would you counteract this?
@@randykeetley9780 I would use the Healing tool in Gimp if you have areas to use as a source that match the destination you are correcting
when i used it u could tell that it was cut. is there any way u could remove all the extra blemishes
Was the background a patterned or gradient colour?
Which application where you using for it?
