As always Conan for me this week. I’m thinking about Spider Man reign and maybe Poison Ivy just for the Nakayama cover, but DC cover variants are usually overpriced though.
Whats really got my eye is this week the Devil's mark returns with a new Grendel story Past that its the usual grabs, Sonic, Conan, Scooby/Bats, Boy Wonder, all stuff im pretty sure will be good as they have been. The real hopeful "strong finishers" are last mermaid and bear pirate viking queen which are both winding down and hope theyll stick the landing
Oh nice you snuck it in there 🙏 Grendels fun haha, this sounds like it's a followup to the Grendel Odyssey that was a "future scifi" version of the character, almost like a 2099, but it's basically like a mask or an entity that possesses people and causes them to be antiheroes or outright villains, and the stories of the "hosts" it's had. It's been a long strange history for the character tho, it's almost like a Hellboy where it jumps around in almost unrelated stories that have thin threads connecting everything
@@WakizashisTeahouse it's a lot of fun, it's just a bit weird to read "in order" and the constant jumping timelines and characters doesn't help 😂 but it is great, and Doug does evolve to be just a great storyteller and artist If you're trying to jump on or try it out online, look for the Comico run that has about 40 issues, that's like the "main" Grendel arc and the rest are all "spin offs" in that universe. Dark Horse did some reprints of each "arc" but idk if that's updated or just with new covers and whatnot. It's also a bit more confusing sorting those apart from the "Grendel Tales" which are more spin offs
Hey 👋 Gray! I skipped my LCS last week and I gotta catch up this week and next! Recently while doing a LCS in store mini con I came across some goodies, Moebius Legend of Arzach Art Folio from Tundra.famous artists tribute ! I have the HC and got a lot of autographs (Steranko, Simonson,Eisner etc) Prisoner Episode guide in color, Jack Kirby late 50’s Skymaster comic strip HC, and some other obscure stuff I’ve been tracking down for 30’s years or more! Absolute Power 0&1,JSA, Space Ghost,Savage Dragon,Conan and 🩸 Bloodhunt! As far the so called big 2 very threadbare as usual! Space Ghost is definitely recommended, Savage Dragon is quirky and chock of full of sarcasm! To cleanse your palette after Batman 150(I dumped it at 129 garbage) Batman the Detective 1-6 by Tom Taylor and Andy Kubert, older Batman in Europe and moves fast! Kubert and Brad Anderson are really on point! The best thing Taylor ever wrote so far! His Nightwing is vacuous and padded with crap! Batman seems to only good reading lately out of continuity Bat-Man First Knight,Batman Offworld! And so it goes?🎯👍👋
Thanks for sharing your picks and recent buys. "I'm not a number, I'm a free man!" I've visited Portmeirion Village in North Wales where The Prisoner was filmed. It's a truly bizarre place, but fascinating. Who do you think might be taking over on Batman after Absolute Power? It's time for a change in my opinion.
@@WakizashisTeahouse Chip started off strong on Batman and most writers these days he can’t land the plane! Moon to the earth was extremely stupid and lazy! I blame goofy spellcheck editors for that nonsense! I watched the Prisoner when it was originally on tv! I couldn’t wait for Rover to chase some poor bastard! Lol! That was probably the first thing my younger mind experienced something like that! Love a quirky story:Steve Gerber,Alan Moore or Grant Morrison come to mind! But for me there’s always gotta be story structure! Weird for weird sake is a waste of time! 🎯
can't wait for spider-man reign 2!!
I'm looking forward to it as well.

I'm also looking forward to Conan and Spidey Reign 2. I've seen some preview pages of Reign 2 and it's pretty out there, but also really entertaining.

A surprise final entry? Yes it's in there. I've heard great things about Matt Wagner's Grendel comics but never read any before now.
