Gino Vannelli is the greatest singer, writer and arranger of our time. His phenomena voice, and his soul are like none other before. Please play more

New to your channel...same age as you...longtime Gino fan. Great discussion. Wondering if you've heard a female vocalist named Rumer. She is, to me, the female equivalent vocalist to Gino. I would suggest anything from her CD, The Look of Love, all covers of Bacharach tunes.
Couldn't agree with you more about The Wheels of Life. A wonderful composition.
Saw him in Ft Lauderdale a few months ago for the first time. What a treat provided by my soon to be wife.
Gist of the Gemini my favorite...followed closely by Yonder Tree.

Music has been such a big part of my life. So much so that it becomes, as I'm sure it does with others, a part of the soundtrack of our lives. Songs take you back and trigger memories. If you grew up listening to music on the radio, when you here them again with a good pair of headphones you hear so much more about that music. It becomes more impactful.
Oh, Vannelli was also popular in Europe through to the 1980's. However, I was more of a 70's Vannelli fan myself.

Love this comment, and I agree with every word you said, K. This channel is really just the soundtrack of MY life, shared with you. Gino has lots of great music spread across the decades, but I agree with you - his 70’s albums made the biggest and most lasting impact on me. Check out Powerful People!

Bittersweet is the perfect word to describe "The wheels of life", the haunting chorus, paired with the warm melancholic bass coupled with the more light-hearted notes it's such an incredible song. My father is a huge Gino vannelli fan, so I've been passively listening to all his repertoire throughout my life, and only now started actively listening to his work. Congrats on taking your daughter to college ! I wish you and her all the best 🖤 this was such an unexpectedly heartwarming video.

Gordon, thanks so much for this. Your channel has made me reacquaint myself with a number of great artists that bring back a flood of memories. I poured over Gino's early A&M records back in the day (Crazy Life, Storm At Sunup, A Pauper In Paradise, etc.) but I don't remember hearing anything after Brother to Brother. Definitely looking forward to catching up with his later work. -- Best wishes for your daughter and her new life at college.

David, it's so cool to hear you too were a Gino fan back in the day. Check out his 1995 album, Yonder Tree, for some beautiful vocal performances. Also see his 2009 album, The Best and Beyond, where he revisits and rearranges some of his classics.

Welcome back Gordon ! Good to see you again. I agree that some songs and music is closely related to memorys
from personal life. Good memorys and sometimes also sad memorys. Life is not a one-way street and we all we have our baggage to carry. I rember the first kiss, the first love, the lost of loved ones and so forth.
Sometimes I feel a bit uninformed when i see your videos- like this time. So i dont know Gino Vannelli and this song. But I'm always interested in new things. The song, especially the lyrics have a deep meaning. The wheel of life spins faster the older you get and not all wishes come true...
Very nice song and i will check more about this artist.
All the best to you and your daughter. Cheers and till next time !

Your sweet and thoughtful responses are always a welcome sight for my eyes, Ventrue! You’re not uninformed - I’m sure if I played Gino Vannelli’s 2 biggest hits (I Just Wanna Stop from 1978 and Living Inside Myself from 1981) you’d know them both. But it’s great that you are so open-minded to learn new songs. I think you will like what’s coming up in the days ahead. Good to see you again, as well - thanks as always for your enthusiastic support!
