After brees & Brady retired, baker is my favorite player in football now. Loved him as a walk on in college, loved him picking himself up back to being productive player in Tampa

Shout out to Chris Simms (and his father too) for doing a phenomenal job at what they do. Love to see Baker getting some love. 15 is perfect middle of the pack or so I'd have to agree. Hoping he can build off last year and doesn't get comfortable now that he got paid.
Baker is great at escaping sacks. He had one of the worst O lines and saved them in many games.
Facts and Tampa had the 31st ranked rushing offense too.
Lol what? Bucs fan here baker DID NOT have one of the worst olines he had a bad RUN BLOCKING like but not pass blocking bucs were like top 5 in that aspect lol

Because many of us watched him avoid many last season. Which is something he wouldn't have to do often, if his o-line is truly top 5 in pass protection like you're claiming.
@@michaellaroche3418 u might want to look again. He was one of the most sacked and he saved that line from getting 40-50 more last season.
I would put him closer to 12, but I guess that's fair enough.
I think he would have, he is likely going to have a higher ceiling than the next couple of guys but the major crack on Baker is consistency which is like maybe 20% his fault. The Browns let him hand pick Freddy Kitchens and that went terribly and gave him a huge ego then he got hurt in his last year with the Browns. If he makes it to the post season again and wins one game they’ll likely make him a fringe top 10 next year. If he goes further everyone is going to talk about him like they did Goff this year and maybe even in the top 8 conversation. Let’s see how these rookies do and if Love and Shroud both have elite season this year. I’d say one of them takes a step back as well.
@@Zangyaksyea good breakdown baker has also had like 9 differnt O.C.s over in his first 6 years in the nfl too. He has had to learn so many different playbooks. And will have to do it again this year. Dude is a gamer though. I'm sure he will have another great year in 24 too.

I'd agree with Baker being higher. I believe the actual stats( not the subjective nonsense)that count show Baker as a top 12 QB last season. The amazing thing with Baker is that due to the badly managed teams he's played for, we haven't even begun to see his ceiling yet.

No lie, people forget he had the record for most passing tds by a rookie and only played 13 games that year. He's on his like 6th head coach and 8th OC

Yea anywhere from 12th-15th seems fair for Baker, he had another great season in 2023 and capped it off by winning probowl mvp. And he is one of only 14 qbs in nfl history to win playoff games for multiple teams. It's a shame he is not on the browns anymore. They definitely are missing him with how bad deshaun has played since the 2020 season. But I'm happy that baker is continuing to have success down in Tampa.

Baker bounced back in a big way. Tepid play and he would have been a free agent and then eventual backup maybe in Green Bay or denver
Crazy what a year or two can do to a guy or at least public perception. Goff went from being benched for john wolford to all of a sudden a “franchise qb” derek carr went from “franchise qb” to see ya later benched and cut. Baker went from browns to panthers and cut to the rams. Now he’s a “franchise guy” it’s just so flip floppy.
Baker has the best arm in the league and is the most elusive qb in the pocket. he's far higher than the 15th best qb. every other nfl qb talks about Baker's arm with absolute awe.

He was a top 10 qb in yards and tds last year, plus he won another playoff game and was probowl mvp. 15th seems fair. if anything hes a little low.
@@WSAMP24 as opposed to Purdy who broke franchise records and led the league in several key metrics as well as being an MVP candidate. Mayfield is top 25, Purdy is top 15

Half of those yards is throwing to McCaffery in the backfield and him running 1000 yard and short slants to Mccaffery for another 500 yards, maybe more. Baker had no run game, it was 31st and they had the best oline in the league last year. That’s why you can’t make this list or understand it. You just don’t have enough football knowledge to make a credible decision

What a joke
What team he plays for doesn't matter. Judge him on his individual performance. He had 4044 yards, 29 tds, 10 ints, and a 94.6 passer rating. Then threw 6 tds in the playoffs too. He deserves to be top 15 maybe higher. I agree that Purdy should be higher than 17th, but don't talk about Baker like he is deshaun watson or someone else who has been playing terrible. Baker put up great stats, made the probowl, and WON another playoff game.
Purdy and Mayfield should both be higher but because they're both only 6"1, they get over looked...pun intended.
@@anthonypa8045 all of that is good stuff but not better than Purdy, which is my overall point. Purdy put up great stats, was an MVP finalist and won multiple playoff games. There is no real justification to take Mayfield over Brock other than the 49ers being a “stacked team”.
@@shane-zl8bu I'd have Purdy higher than 17th. He's been great so far but Garrapolo also looked great in Shanahans offense. Even went to a superbowl i think. Then went to Oakland and looked awful. Purdy stats are great and He's won multiple playoff games. Mvp finalist. I'd probably put him between 11 and 14 somewhere if I were making a list. But baker is definitely a top 15 qb too.
@@shane-zl8buPurdy should be top 5. He's playing for a genius offensive coach, but Jimmy G and other 49ers QB hadn't had the same stats and results. Purdy came to a great situation. Baker went to a disorganized franchise that finished in last place for 7 straight seasons and were 1-32-1 before he stepped foot on the field. He never finished last with the Browns. Lamar Jackson finished in last place with the Ravens one season.
lmao wilson, purdy, tua, and kyler all had better passer ratings than him this past season and all have performed at higher highs than baker has EVER hit. he doesn’t have the mobility of any of the guys i mentioned except for purdy either. don’t see how he’s above any of them and should be right behind geno smith imo.
Yeah but none of those guys were sitting behind the 28th ranked oline either with no run game where he had to throw basically every down and the defenses knew that as they had the 31st run game. Plus Baker ranked 7-10 in touchdowns, yards per attempt, total yards, and a few other stats I don’t remember off the top of my head and ranked 3rd on 3rd down conversions. You don’t understand the list and this is why.
