I think he would have, he is likely going to have a higher ceiling than the next couple of guys but the major crack on Baker is consistency which is like maybe 20% his fault. The Browns let him hand pick Freddy Kitchens and that went terribly and gave him a huge ego then he got hurt in his last year with the Browns. If he makes it to the post season again and wins one game they’ll likely make him a fringe top 10 next year. If he goes further everyone is going to talk about him like they did Goff this year and maybe even in the top 8 conversation. Let’s see how these rookies do and if Love and Shroud both have elite season this year. I’d say one of them takes a step back as well.

Baker Mayfield will be forever an Offensive Play Manager and he shows it on the field. His off field management is fantastic as well. He will fit for a long time on my childhood Bucs team. He is only moving forward in maturity and poise in his position to this team. His communication with his Offensive coaches will improve his position as a on field coach mentality in his QB position.

What team he plays for doesn't matter. Judge him on his individual performance. He had 4044 yards, 29 tds, 10 ints, and a 94.6 passer rating. Then threw 6 tds in the playoffs too. He deserves to be top 15 maybe higher. I agree that Purdy should be higher than 17th, but don't talk about Baker like he is deshaun watson or someone else who has been playing terrible. Baker put up great stats, made the probowl, and WON another playoff game.

Lamar Jackson finished in last place with the Ravens one season.
