@@KingComingEdits I never thought of the overlords power to be like darkness I always thought if it as the power of corruption he corrupted the people if Ninjago in s2 and in S3 he took control of the golden weapons thus in a sense corrupting the powers of creation and in crystalised his crystals corrupted the people turning them in to zombies but thats just the way i see his powers because darkness covers everything light has already passed through like the day and night cycle
Looking back the mega weapon was definitely a missed opportunity. The entire first season was about not letting Garmadon get the golden weapons because how he would use them to take over Ninjago. All he did was make some pirates, ninjas, and bring back a dinosaur. I feel like the idea of the mega weapon could be an entire season on its own. I know at this point that would never happen but I agree it’s kind of a letdown what the mega weapon did
I completely agree, Legacy of The Green Ninja should’ve been divided into two seasons, one being about Garmadon and the Golden Weapons, and the other being about the Overlord and the Stone Army.
Wait, so if Sora has been training to be a ninja for a year, then Arin has been waiting help with finding his parents also for a year, which now actually makes me think his anger is much more valid than i thought before.
Hot take: Lloyd was a good fit for the green ninja The other ninja already had their elemental powers, they are their own ninja, Nya never made sense to me for some reason, her as samurai x and then the water ninja, I love that. And Lloyd being the good versus bad, son versus father. BUT I do think the handling of it was off. I believe Lloyd should have been revealed as the green ninja doing something heroic. (Idk if this is even that much of a hot take (anymore) tho)
How come I never thought of the Overlord Redemption but I thought of the Morro one smh, but yea for me I agree with your point on the Morro one, his evilness mainly came from Wu’s mistakes but I kinda wished we got some moments where we saw he had some light in him but W point’s Tanner! I liked what you had to say 🎉
I now realise that wu's mistake with morro was to fill his head with false hope and so was lloyds mistake with arin also love that you are ding hot takes again 😀👍
I think your wrong about the Crystalized hate being forced. It was meant to be a series finale. When I finished it I though I had missed episodes because it was so underwhelming there was no tension. Imagine if the final battle in season 2 consisted of Lloyd using his golden power for 5 seconds hitting the overlord once then turning back to normal and getting a random power up just because. At the end of they day Crystalized was just a remix version of seasons 8 and 9. To me comparing it to Season 6 in terms of hate is criminal, I agree that the ending contributed significantly to the seasons hate but throughout the season Jay actually develops as a character. The tension throughout the season builds up climaxing during the wedding when we left wondering if Nya will be saved or will the marriage ceremony finish before they can save her. While in Crystalized the Oni form was built up to the whole season with Lloyd having to learn how to control his anger and hate and learn that relying on them isn't necessarily a bad thing but at the end of the season he is the same as the start of the story as he still doesn't want to use his Oni powers despite being told it can destroy the Overlord permanently.
What if the megaweapon was used or had some signifigance for the final battle storyline. Perhaps instead of garmadon using it for what he did in season 2, what if he used it to recreate the stone army for himself? Then we could have an entirely different story but a more fleshed out one.
They kinda used the idea already with the elemental blades, but what I could see is lloyd getting to wield the megaweapon during the final battle, and this is what triggers his transformation into the golden ninja. With the megaweapon being basically infused within his body, which turns his outfit gold and unlocks his true power. Making the golden weapons / mega weapon the key to the golden power would've been in my opinion a better way to nerf lloyd rather than simply having the overlord steal the golden power out of him and him never getting it back. It also explains why his power is energy and not the 4 elements like it was teased in the early seasons
Comparing the literal manifestation, embodiment and concept of evil to someone who was mostly corrupted is kinda strange. The Overlord being redeemed would speak against the very thing that he is, the embodiment of evil. Of course, only Garmadon‘s „evil side“ returned, but he is not like the Overlord, since something new can always grow in him since he is not the embodiment of evil, therefore it doesn’t mean that he has to stay evil.
I think what they should do instead is make the overlord’s goals solely just to take over the realm of ninjago. So world ending cosmic threats would make him defend his territory in a way
Redeeming the overlord - ❌ Giving each realm its own overlord like entity and the merge causing them all to fuse into one big bad❔ prob not but still cool to imagine
The only way(imo) to redeem the overloed is to do a sorts uub moment. Where a being of pure evil was reincarnated into someone else who could become good but still has that evil power within them
Redeem the Overlord!? I hope they're joking! A pure evil can NEVER be redeemed because there are NO redemption qualities into them! So, they didn't want Morro to get redeemed despite he wasn't as evil as the Overlord but they want the Overlord to be redeemed!? This is so messed up! Also, why won't they understand that Morro wasn't evil by nature but he was simply hurt because Wu gave him false hopes!? And there's also the possibility that the Preeminent might've poisoned Morro's mind and pushed him to commit those despicable actions! After all, he died as a teenager, so he never grew up mentally, which means it was easy for the Preeminent to take advantage of that. WHY WON'T THEY ALL UNDERSTAND?!?
Morro counterpoint: morro didn’t let wu save him because he wanted to put his anger in the past. He then helped the ninja in DOTD because he felt he was back for a reason, therefore being necessary
@@TheFugiDovehe had no good acts until he decided to give Wu the crystal and then later help in DOTD, so the buildup to him becoming good just happened instantly, I don’t think Morro needed to remain evil till the end but it would be more consistent considering his narrative, I think it’s a fun redemption tho and is still decent.

The Overlord isn't even a person. He's just a spirit, he's the living embodiment of evil, you can't expect to redeem him. You could just try to destroy him by eliminating all evil in Ninjago
Did they would have to be a good reason why the overlord wants redeem himself, like some of Lloyd golden powers affected him with positive energy or something like that?
If Dragons Rising makes the Overlord more powerful ('Mechanism by which the realm worlds get destroyed in the cycle" kind of powerful), maybe they could have something along the lines of him being powerful enough to kind of think outside his role, so we get a scene of him expressing genuine pity that he is destroying all of this and genuine remorse over it, but not like he has a choice in the matter? It's more just giving the Overlord character though rather than making him redeemable. Hard to me for imagine a scenario where he could be redeemed without retconning the hell out of the show
2:29 I disagree while love love the old ninja and the merge the new characters ( arin sora wildfire and more ) are the reasons why Ninjago dr is a new series and not just Ninjago season 16

Nooooo there is only one fate that in my mind can rap up the overlord and its banishment or being absorbed by lloyd or something a way that the overlord always lives just caged or tamed to prevent him trying to conquer ninjago

The megaweapon arc was my favorite probably of all time just because they didnt need to focus on a huge plot and instead just had the ninja having fun with lower stakes stuff and each episode was contained also.
My hot take was that they should have brought back detective Zane for DR season 2 part 2. It would have given him more (much needed) screen time, and his personality back. He also could have helped Arin, and the two them could have bonded over their missed loved ones. With Zane reminiscing that the last time he played the ‘Detective Zane’ role was when Pixal was around in Prime Empire. And Arin could have had someone to talk to about his parents (and could have had some comforting from Zane since they are both sad in the fact they are missing people important to them)
I agree with Cole being more of a leader than Lloyd, but only until dragons rising. In dragons rising, Lloyd actually becomes a true leader, and led sora through the tournament of sources, even though he wasn’t in it anymore
In the tournament of sources Cole also shows some potential when he teaches Frak how to use his powers. Though this one was for an enemy, he can still be a teacher and leader in Dragons Rising
Well, I do think that the last comment is true, Garmadon is wasting the potential of the Mega weapon. It was 4 golden weapons rolled into one, so it should be much more that just a new threat everyday. G could use it to build huge vehicles, weapons for the serpentine (like the beginning of ep 19), and use them in real combat. Even when he did not have the 4 golden rolled into one (4 weapons separately), he was still very powerful - considering how Samukai fired ice, earth and lightning against master Wu back in the pilot - so G with the ability to wield 4 golden weapons at once was supposed to be stronger than that.
When I saw cole not wanting to go with the ninjag back in dr season 1 and jay losing his memory, then I saw they added 2 new ninja, I instantly thought this was cole and jay being replaced with arin and sora because they lost those two and got 2 new ones
Kai was the original main character of the series before Lloyd was even introduced, and I'd like to see a future season of Ninjago revisit that at some point
You also gotta keep in mind Sora has intelligence on her side which I think her Tech Power gives her more intelligence and quick thinking than other characters in my own personal opinion
The overlord should never get redeemed, I mean come on, his german name is "ULTRA BÖSE" which means "ULTRA/ULTIMATIVE EVIL" is he gonna change him name to ultra good guy or something? lmfao
About the ninja not all being together in dragons rising, that's a storyline, because master wu said them being together is the key to, perhaps, reversing the merge? The writers are extending their separation out, until maybe the final season?
I don’t think it would be possible I think the only way to truly get rid of the overlord was the final battle but since he found a loophole to survive I don’t think there is any other way unless they reset the clock restarting the battle ones again and loyd becomes the golden ninja again but also if they could somehow redeem the overlord in some way they could go back to the lesson of the best way to defeat your enemy is to make them your friend Also with garmadon nothing ever acutely confirmed he had no good left besides hurime and she could of just been saying that also that’s the same thing they said the first time garmadon was evil just with snake venom
I know the overlord thing is dumb but if they really wanted to they could tie it into DR well because imo whatever threats we haven’t seen in DR yet plus the five, much more threatening. It’s kinda like how Garmadon mainly took over ninjago to prevent the oni from crossing over which is probably another reason he didn’t just kill Lloyd. If they really wanted to, the most powerful villains from the previous series could partially tie into DR basically finding out they only did what they did not bc of the FSM per say but more so to also prevent the merge due to the unseen threats They don’t have to bring all those old plots and characters back but they could make something out of an idea like this 🤷🏻♂️
Hot Take: I feel like Cole should start using Axes instead of Hammers because Axes are a weapon I feel like fits Cole and would give a little nod to the Master of the mountain season
Yea but it’s nice to see Lloyd finally become a master and whoever said Cole fits as leader more than Lloyd no I do not agree with u and it doesn’t mean that u hat Cole it’s just bc Lloyd if the nephew of master Wu
@@dicembre15_mat nope none of the ninja there was no “leader” until Lloyd joined which was followed up in dragons rising and even that is very loosely there all one combined unit there is no leader because none of them have high authority than eachother
The biggest problem i have with crystalized is there are so many fantastic characters they forgot from the earlier seasons to bring in and have them help. But also, the endgame moment with the team up felt pretty forced trying to be too similar to avengers. It should've been a bit more natural
Only way I could see Overlord get “redemption” is if one of the ninjas is like Goku n wish for Overlord to get reincarnated into a good person. Even then that’s technically not redemption. Other than that, naw how is the literally embodiment of evil n darkness getting redeemed. Like having Frezia from DBZ or Palpatine from Star Wars get redemption after all the serious crimes they committed throughout the universe
Redeem? Redeeming pure evil is that even possible I mean remember to great devourer he made victims man… harumi parents I bet there needs to be more He’s the reason Lloyd daddy was gone for the milk cause he made him become garmadon with 4 arms he’s the reason Zane litterally exploded and got in coma by crashing also this is only stuff we know he’s pure evil who knows he’s kill counts is most likely the biggest in all the realms of ninjago seriously you can’t evil itself and even if they could I feel like making pure evil good would break the balance of the universe somehow
Wtf you mean redeem the overlord did you forget all the crimes he committed he has zero regrets the overlord is like the version of palpatine they both committing a lot of war crimes and corrupting the main character's dad there's no redemption of the overlord he is 100% pure evil
Can someome explain how people say Morro's backtory is better then Harumi's? Like for me its not even good backstory at all. Bro was just mad he cant Wear green hoodie and shoot green fire by hands... oh and be confused what his elemental power actually is
To be honest, I see Morro more likeable than Harumi personally... I get this is your opinion, but harumi just blamed the ninja "for not saving her parents" from the Great Devourer, specially Lloyd, then she teams up with Pythor in crystalized?? Meh. In the tournament of sources Cole also shows some potential when he teaches Frak how to use his powers.
Though this one was for an enemy, he can still be a teacher and leader in Dragons Rising
8:27 plus in season 5 out of all 4 Ninja cole was the only successful one, yeah he turned into a ghost, but he still got the scroll of airjitzu
Kai was the original main character of the series before Lloyd was even introduced, and I'd like to see a future season of Ninjago revisit that at some point

thank you for posting it! and making the video
Season 3,5,and day of the departed are my personal faves
The end of Crystalized was a little bit disappointing, but most of the season was pretty enjoyable
Just saying I don’t think we can redeem evil itself which is what the overlord is
I don’t think it would be possible I think the only way to truly get rid of the overlord was the final battle but since he found a loophole to survive I don’t think there is any other way unless they reset the clock restarting the battle ones again and loyd becomes the golden ninja again but also if they could somehow redeem the overlord in some way they could go back to the lesson of the best way to defeat your enemy is to make them your friend
Also with garmadon nothing ever acutely confirmed he had no good left besides hurime and she could of just been saying that also that’s the same thing they said the first time garmadon was evil just with snake venom
Yeah and here's a theory, what if arin learns rising dragon technique, because he knows regular spinjizu and rantu and egolt don't know that he's bad
Maybe they could use the mega weapon to remake ninjago
I know the overlord thing is dumb but if they really wanted to they could tie it into DR well because imo whatever threats we haven’t seen in DR yet plus the five, much more threatening.
It’s kinda like how Garmadon mainly took over ninjago to prevent the oni from crossing over which is probably another reason he didn’t just kill Lloyd. If they really wanted to, the most powerful villains from the previous series could partially tie into DR basically finding out they only did what they did not bc of the FSM per say but more so to also prevent the merge due to the unseen threats
They don’t have to bring all those old plots and characters back but they could make something out of an idea like this 🤷🏻♂️
we need garmadon
Redeeming the overlord is literal worst idea ever
Hot Take: I feel like Cole should start using Axes instead of Hammers because Axes are a weapon I feel like fits Cole and would give a little nod to the Master of the mountain season
but wont that throw things out of balance and require a greater evil to replace him
Yea but it’s nice to see Lloyd finally become a master and whoever said Cole fits as leader more than Lloyd no I do not agree with u and it doesn’t mean that u hat Cole it’s just bc Lloyd if the nephew of master Wu
Hotter take still: the Overlord is a shit villain and and needs to be retconned out of the show :)
Actually I think the overlord has some good in him, in crystallized he was willing to kill Lloyd if harumi could get hi, on his side
Umm isn't that still considered evil and less good?🤨🤔 The Overlord never once did anything good (sorry if that came off rude, that's not my intention)
Bro trying to redeem the embodiment of evil
"Cole fits the role of leader better than Lloyd" SO agreed. No offense to those who think Lloyds better at that.
I loved it when Cole was leader.
I mean, Lloyd was Indeed a bad leader
Cole was never a leader tho
@Deity_devil he was at First
@@dicembre15_mat nope none of the ninja there was no “leader” until Lloyd joined which was followed up in dragons rising and even that is very loosely there all one combined unit there is no leader because none of them have high authority than eachother
@Deity_devil i Wish that was true, but Lloyd Is the leader, and a really bad One too
I totally knew that he would return.
You know some people can just come up with the fake things
The only one I agree with is the last one.
fair. wish mys was pick
I agree with the sora one like how is she almost beat nokt one of the most powerful people ever
The biggest problem i have with crystalized is there are so many fantastic characters they forgot from the earlier seasons to bring in and have them help. But also, the endgame moment with the team up felt pretty forced trying to be too similar to avengers. It should've been a bit more natural
They didn't they just didn't have anymore room
It's the new generation 💫⚙️☄️✴️
Redeeming the Overlord = bad idea.
if the overlord turned good then who would be the true king of darkness?
Ninjago seasons pilot-7 oni trilogy 8-10 wildbren saga 11-16 dragons rising 17-18 😅
Overlord being redeemed is the like 1 + 1 = 3
You forgot, he was probably hungry, so that means he could have made a giant ham sandwich!
is this the only video your making on the hot takes from that post?
He makes new community posts for new hot takes videos, so yes

@@TomTheCat29 np, also think of a really spicy opinion you have on a Ninjago character or season and you’ll get yours reviewed eventually
Redeem?
Redeeming pure evil is that even possible I mean remember to great devourer he made victims man… harumi parents I bet there needs to be more
He’s the reason Lloyd daddy was gone for the milk cause he made him become garmadon with 4 arms he’s the reason Zane litterally exploded and got in coma by crashing also this is only stuff we know he’s pure evil who knows he’s kill counts is most likely the biggest in all the realms of ninjago seriously you can’t evil itself and even if they could I feel like making pure evil good would break the balance of the universe somehow
Redeem
THE FUCKING OVERLORD????
what are YOU on about? The entire point is the Overlord to be the embodiment of evil
The megawepon arc is one of the reasons I think s2 was so bad and in my top 5 worst seasons of ninjago
Sorry but some of these guys and their comments are just pissing me off
Jogging
CRYSTALIZED IS THE BEST SEASON WHATS WRONG WITH PEOPLE
Wtf you mean redeem the overlord did you forget all the crimes he committed he has zero regrets the overlord is like the version of palpatine they both committing a lot of war crimes and corrupting the main character's dad there's no redemption of the overlord he is 100% pure evil
Can someome explain how people say Morro's backtory is better then Harumi's? Like for me its not even good backstory at all. Bro was just mad he cant Wear green hoodie and shoot green fire by hands... oh and be confused what his elemental power actually is
fr like bro is just a crybaby
To be honest, I see Morro more likeable than Harumi personally...
I get this is your opinion, but harumi just blamed the ninja "for not saving her parents" from the Great Devourer, specially Lloyd, then she teams up with Pythor in crystalized?? Meh. That's just bad writing, and bad character development, she should have ended ha arc in Haunted.
@@lucie1649 ye
@@Irmabelbel
Agree! Harumi (and Nya) are my favs, but Crystalized Harumi sucks! Kinda wished she came back in DR instead of Morro cuz she could be fixed!
And about being mad at Ninja i can understand her. She lost everything and from her point of view it was all fault of Ninja while Morro was never guaranteed to become green Ninja
@@EK_LovesLynda totally agreed!! Harumi is a nice villain but her "redemption" in crystalized was super forced to me😭
I'm glad Morro is gonna be back but I wish they fix Harumi's character too. I like Morro more because I (personally, it's okay if there's people who doesn't see it like me) felt his redemption a little more natural because Wu told him he could be green ninja and gave him that illusion (not Wu's fault it came super wrong tho) and he died at a young age, but always saw Wu like a dad since he lived in the streets, but yk
I think garmadon should be the source dragon of darkness and he gave up his elemental power of life and then the profecy was made
Nope
@Appmonvert overlord glazer
Garmadon's mageweapon arc so good he in this weapon creiet pirets evil ninja dinosor win race to defite ninja to destroy daret's dotzo and back in time to stop to ninjago never happet all seasons but ninja all weys stop is evil plan they deffit pirets and set them to jail thay defite evil versens off himself thay defite a dinosor halp dy the age tea to aged this dinosor and the ninja and lloyd to thay win the race and back own flying ship and back destroy megaweapon by golden weapon and be come a golden sfer
Let he overlord be forgotten
Na I like him
@virtualbison6928 I do but I feel like if the overlord returns it will damage dragons rising as a series, especially if he is ras's master

Same.
I’m sorry but no I really hate crystallized but that’s your opinion and that’s fine

Hot take they should have killed Cole during the merge
Killing Cole would make the merge feel like a natural disaster that brought both good and bad and you can’t make geo the new master of earth
No
Ehh that might be too controversial especially after Kirby morrows death
That’s one reason why I hoped they would do it Cole just doesn’t sound like Cole anymore
