    You reach a certain age,perhaps, and nostalgia sets in. I love modern technology so much but we've lost so much emotionally too. Fabulous pics..

    I love it...when everyone gathered in the living room to spend time together ❤ 💗

    What were we thinking?? Those patterns , colors , mismatched furniture gives me chills. The room where everyone gathered , where no one was staring at their phone in a trance. ✌

      They were in a trance over all those psychedelic patterns.

    Thank you for another great upload,watching this was a trip down memory lane,growing up in 70's England,the hot summer's,American TV shows,I even had an AFX Aurora racing track,genuine Frisbee's my fave was the white one with American stars and Skateboards,I'd watch out for American sport on TV ie NFL and Drag racing,long skateboarding too that was rare but on the odd Saturday on World of Sport TV program,listen to NFL on the radio,a guy down my street had a Charlie's Angel's type Mustang 2, V8 that was a treat to see and hear,in the 70s Grange Hill TV show was made,its on TH-cam and set in the school I attended,nowadays I watch that series and remminice,the years have flown but nice to have fond memories.I luv 70s stuff to this day. Wishing everyone peace,health and happiness.

    In the 70s when I was in high school, we had wall-to-wall lime green shag carpeting in the living room and bright orange shag in the dining room. We had an olive-drab Tappan dishwasher, refrigerator, sinks, and oven.. We had one harvest gold bathroom and another in olive drab. We were one hip family back then!

    At some point in time I had that horse print in the first picture. Depending on the color of the couch, (pic is washed out pretty bad) I had it too.

    I would say that most people back then relaxed and spent the most time in their DEN - as opposed to their living room, which was generally a more formal room reserved for entertaining company or guests. Most modern homes built over the last 25 years, have a "great room" - which is typically a room with a higher ceiling and combines the functional spaces of both former living rooms AND dens. A lot of older houses that have living rooms don't typically have a den, too!

    Mustard was chief among the "must have" colours of the 70s

    • @tackyman2011

      And olive, and burnt orange. Yuck.

    • @davidhunt6463
      @davidhunt6463 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes I think on reflection they are all equally as yucky. When I worked in a bank my immediate superior had a range of yellow, green and mustard shirts that he would wear each week but the worst thing about them was they were made of nylon. Sometimes they would crackle with the build up of static.

    A virtual cornucopia of garishness & kitsch. The 70's certainly were an odd time, yes? 🤪

  • @marygrant882
    @marygrant882 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Those photos weren't taken for the purpose of showing off their decor, people had what they could afford, obviously not photos of the homes of the rich and famous.

    • @davidgold5961
      @davidgold5961 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I agree. American Spirit cigarettes have no additives. My friend, who is a way over-the-top clean eater and health nut, smokes one and only one whenever someone close to her dies, and she swears they won’t hurt you - like you say, it’s the additives.
