A great little radio. Shortwave performance comparable to the Tecsun R-9012, R-911. AM is 9khz yet it doesn't do horrible. For the money this little radio performs really well. It's absolute FUN....and that's what radio should be about.
For the price, you can't go wrong. Grabs hold of stations well, and holds them. AM is fine here in 9kHz UK. SW is impressive on just the built-in antenna. Fits in a shirt pocket, too. Very pleased with it.
Kudos to the new XHDATA D-219 as I am adding one of these AM/FM/SW Portable Radios to my radio collection! Thanks, ZHDATA & JIMS RADIO CHECK for your video review indeed!
Needed a little radio out side by my small above ground pool, to listen to oldies station what a great little gem , kove it as much as collecting my knifes , im happy
This looks like a nice portable radio. I like that it takes AA batteries instead of BL-5C. My only concern is the AM band. The DSP tuning might be in 9 KHz steps on AM. I noticed that some stations like 720 WGN were loud while others like 1110 WXES sounded a bit quiter. The FM and SW sound great though. If a version was made with 10 KHz and expanded band AM, I would consider buying it. Have a good weekend and 73s.
Hello, JIMS RADIO CHECK, as I enjoyed your tutorial video in reference to the new XHDATA D-219! What a nice radio and at such a low cost of roughly $13.00! The internal speaker is of relatively good quality with a rich sound for AM & FM reception! It is a good entry radio for getting into shortwave at a low price indeed! Thank you...
Thanks John one thing I noticed on medium-wave the band is crammed into a small area however it picks up all the stations you really need and shortwave and FM very good
You bet. By it's selfe it's good then I add. About 5 meters of wire on a gator clip. Then for s/and giggles had a 6 meter converter. Then later. Found a stand alone vfo. It's now getting ...SSB. this puppy is good. ps the 6 meter converter is salvaged and out puts on channel #2 old tv frequency.
I have this radio. Shortwave needs a supplemental antenna. Just clip on some speaker wire to the antenna. It picks up a little better AND you will get better SW signals at night due to the day's sun's iosphere which interferes with reception.
I have a pocket size ,analog sw,am,mw radio tecsun r 9012,with clear, almost correct good scale. I like your sw,am ,mw radio, too. It has good, clear, correct scale, and i like scale of your radio. Your scale is better than my scale. But my radio also has sw 3.70-4.10 mhz.Your radio has no such sw frequencies. On sw 3.90-4.00 mhz i can receive 3-4 german stations with music and one from slovakia ,also in english. Igor belevich from belarus. I am 39.
What should be ideal specifications of DC adaptor to run this radio. It is operated with 2 AA cells that is 3volts. But for adaptor it mentions 5volts. Any idea? Also what should be the mah of the adaptor?
It also has a negative pin, which from what i understand is unusual. They do make adapters that have multiple replaceable tips that allow for a positive pin or a negative pin.

Yes Mike you are correct about that however the FM and shortwave work very well to make up for it

You got the European version with 9K MW spacing.

Absolutely a clip-on wire helps tremendously I do that for all of my smaller shortwave radios

Malaysia RM56.00 XHDATA D 219
It's a excellent radio for the cost
No ssb/cw
No SSB AM FM and shortwave
True. Radios with SSB ability will always cost a lot more than this does.
Its ten dollars on Amazon 😅
@@patmiller7045 you cannot go wrong for $10
@@jimsradiocheck936 I'm glad came across your channel.
