Thanks, I try to take drone footage once a month, but often the weather is too rough to fly it safely. As we are due some nice weather this week, perhaps I'll get it out and film some summery footage.
Wow Liz. That has all grown amazingly - have been wondering how your food forest garden is going. Beautiful. Have learned so much from you - thank you for sharing all your knowledge.
Thanks so much Monique, the forest garden is growing away quietly. As it's quite a large area, it is hard to show it too often, but once the trees mature some more, perhaps there will be more to look at. And fruit to harvest, if the squirrels don't get it first!
I enjoyed the video, your place is very much like mine except you're light years ahead when it comes to planting and beds! Were the captions correct that in your cherry /shrub walk you have "Hypericum/ St.John's Wort"? St John's Wort is actually herbaceus, so I'm confused! My mum has another type of hypericum which I think is known as Rose of Sharon, that is a small shrub with orange/red berries (it's overtaking a lot of her garden!).
Hi Chelsea! How are you? Let's catch up in a chat after your harvesting rush is over. Thanks for the positive feedback about the forest garden, I'm really pleased with how it's coming along.
Thank you so much! I love it, but I know it's not everyone's cup of tea. For some it's too untidy and for others, it's not tidy enough! But for us, it's a perfect combination of formal and wild, structure and natural habitat, edibles and ornamentals.
Lovely video Liz! Lots of plants to look forward too every year! I will try to remember that re splitting as not heard of that phrase before. What is your favourite climbing rose? Our raspberries and strawberries did well this year. We also have blackberries growing over our fence so will take a cutting from it before asking the council to remove it. Do i take a cutting from next years blooms or take a cutting from the the blackberries after they have finished? I assumed it was from the next years growth but wanted to check please. Just waiting for our neighbours elderberries to ripen! lol They don't harvest them, don't mind us taking them and they are all over our side of the fence. I love making elderberry and apple jelly! Hope you are well. Take care and have a great week!
Ooh, fave climbing rose is a difficult question! Um, er, any repeat flowering rose is good for me, I like that there is colour and fragrance more than once a year. For blackberries, I wouldn't take cuttings unless it is a thornless blackberry, wild blackberries can quickly get out of hand, and painful! But it you are taking cuttings, I would wait until after fruiting has finished. I agree about elderberry and apple jelly, it's lovely!
@@LizZorab I forgot to mention that i have a thorned raspberry plant i bought and a thornless one gifted by a bird and both are in pots. The blackberry would also be put in a pot. I can't reach the base of the plant from this side of the fence as it's commercial property. I'll wait until it has finished fruiting but will take a cutting of both primocanes and floricanes to be sure. I was looking into climbing roses and interested in pastel pink roses or peonies for our front garden.
You did a great job on gardeners world this week. Seeing the garden from above shows just how much you have achieved.

Looking good, so many lovely and productive perennials.

I so enjoy watching your garden grow.
Thank you. I wish it could mature a bit faster, but I'm sure next year's tour will look much fuller and foresty (is that even a word?)
Gardens looking great liz
