The OV-chipkaart (Dutch public transport chipcard): How to buy a train ticket in the Netherlands? (part of Dutch course 'Heb je zin?')

I read that credit card and debit card are very different things in the Netherlands and most of the time people use debit cards (pinpas), but it's the second episode where usage of creditcard is suggested.

Honestly, is it cheaper to get OVchipkaart or Ticket? Chipkaart was expensive for a week's use albeit, I traveled a few times per day.

If you are a incidental traveler it's cheaper to buy a trainticket rather than an OV Chipcard. Trainrides with an OV chipcard are cheaper then buying a ticket, however. With a ticket you dont have to buy a chipcard for 7,50€. Therefor a single ticket would be cheaper in almost all most cases as a tourist.
If you are a tourist but you plan to use public transportation (Trains,busses,subways and Trams.) alot, it would be wiser/cheaper to get a OV Chipcard.
The Dutch public transportation system is one of the most efficient in all of Europe, however…. It is also quite expensive comparatively with other European countries.
Kids of 18 and below and elderly of 65 and above travel way cheaper using the public transportation.
