Bro this map has been improved in some ways and neutered in others, the spamming of the sand colored rocks combined with the fog and removal of heavy contrast areas like the volcano island make the map look so dry and dull. These maps are supposed to be different but this looks exactly the same as the island, not a fan

TIL "neutered" can be used in other ways than... y'know No but honestly, these were my exact thoughts. I think the zones that should have an evident change to the terrain kinda just... Blend in, or as you said, look dull. The biggest one for me was the lava area. I would have really liked to have seen the lava area have dead trees, ashy ground, and just a cooler design in general. But instead, the lava area completely blends in except (obviously) from the lava pools. I find that a lot of the areas just seem to blend in, and I would have loved to see the caved ice palace get like a cool ice-y underground, but nope. I don't think it looks *identical* to the island per se, it def looks better, but it also just feels so much larger. The Center feels like a map that needs an addition of like 10 creatures to really make it come to life, but we only got 2. The underwater one feels like it should've been pushed off to another map, and the premium one actually feels fit... Except for the fact that its $5. I still think this map was done justice, but it just loses some of its originality which REALLY sucks. ASA thus far is mostly just feeling like a ported game, and with them constantly trying to get OUT of that perspective from the general audience, I think they should have done better here. I know this won't happen, but as I said above, The Center needs more creatures. It NEEDS more exclusive cave creatures, underworld creatures, and more creatures specific to zones just as the Pyromane is... Not an ocean tame god dammit (even though the idea is cool).
I like how we have a premium creature that everything on this map is working against. The water in the arena gives it the debuff, a Shasta base can’t be raided by one, and there’s water basically all over the map. Very strange map to introduce a creature made of fire, isn’t it?

Compared to the Island Broodmother, the Center one is stupidly weak. She takes 4 times damage and has half the hp, which makes her 8 times faster to kill, and she doesn’t even deal a lot of damage.
In terms of rass footage he has insane spawned In levs like 876 which are already pretty op plus the water buff that improves those stats even more it wasn’t designed to fight against those insane odds
To be fair the ruins of the boss arena in ASE made little sense because no other ruin (on this map and other official ones) looked Asian. So I sort of understand trying to make everything look cohesive style-wise but... that's such a bland choice to replace it with. It could easily have remained a village/temple, just with assets that fit the rest of the map. It feels, after seeing the treatment of the SE ruins and now The Center ruins, that WildCard wants to make their ruins in ASA look as neutral as possible instead of referring to various cultures, and I have to wonder if they're worried about being accused of cultural appropriation (despite the fact that there was no criticism about that for ASE) or something. Clearly a pattern is starting to emerge but I can't understand the reasoning. It's so odd. You can do ANYTHING and you chose to do this.
Like how they downgraded the Manticore Arena in SE. No longer the Treasury building from Petra, now just some random structure of little ruined houses.
I just want fun boss fights there is no real skill to these. Its whistle attack and wait. Character need the ability to dodge and some bosses that must be fought with no dinos

It looks unfinished. Everything is flat, and covering it with water is a very nice excuse for not making anything interesting on the ground. Just a flat surface, the most boring thing ever. The pillars themselves are also rather uninteresting and copy pasted. The bosses feel out of place there. It’s easier to fight the bosses now, and the original was way more interesting and unique. Literally a downgrade
the people whining about the new arena don't get the fact that the old arena just straight up wasn't ARK Why the hell would there be a random giant village on top of a cliff in an ARK map a giant arena (that isn't comically easy to exploit) makes sense for boss fights since you're not just running around looking for the bosses half the time
I agree. We need more bosses than the three island bosses. Need something better than just rex rushing. We got a new dragon boss, we got a new monkey boss. We definitely need a new insect boss and a new water boss.
