I think her show of humility, hardwork, and determination to rise despite all odds are all very Filipino. Thanks to her Filipino mom who grounded her pretty well.
I’d say Raducanu has had the easier route to the final but she has dismantled everyone she has come up against with relative ease it’s going to be a great final
She has beaten top players in this tourney in 3 sets. She has that experience to go that far and still win the games. I think Emma lacks that experience as she hasn't lost a set yet and not played top top players like naomi or kerber or sabalenka. I hope emma proves me wrong but I think leylah wins this final. Whoever loses will have difficulty to swallow cuz it's their first final and both are super young but i hope they can replicate these kinda performances againand again in future, become top players and not fade away.
Emma’s not faced top players lol you mad bro!? Don’t forget Barty was in Emma’s side of the draw world no1 and massive favourite for the this GS! Ps last time leyla played Emma was Wimbledon junior final and lost 6-2 6-4!
These two female teenagers are making history in women’s tennis! What a superb match watching Leylah Annie overwhelmed and frustrate her ranked and seeded opponents! Her passion, determination and perseverance, hardwork, mental toughness and focus as well as that idiosyncratic inner joy set her apart! Congratulations Leylah, you’re on your way to achieve your dreams and unleash your limitless potential! From one Filipina to the other!!! You have inspired our race and teens around the world to love and play tennis!!!!
Actually, tennis fans are so frenzy. We are always focus on the men's side, but with these two promising superstars, the field is even. This US Open will be the most exciting and memorable Slam ever. 21 for '21 if Djocovic wins.
Curious, if she has a child will it be of Canadian descent, or still Ecuadorian and Filipino? How far back do we go? I know an American man whose great great great grandfather was British and fought for the British in the "American Civil War" who married a British woman, whose great great great grandfather was born in America and fought for the Americans in the "War of Independence". It's all kind of silly isn't it.
She seems to be in the flow at the moment; mind seems to be more granular and of couse, spontaneous; the talent is expressing through a practised sport but she may well be more than just an excellent/successful tennis player. Though, anything can happen on court on a given day.
I predicted this Dream Finals last week. Battle of the Half Asian Canadian Born Female Teenagers. Both have GAME, grit, swagger, charisma, rock hard Determination and a winning smile. I'm an Australian who is suffering from the severe Covid LOCKDOWN Blues here in Melbourne, so Emma & Leylah has really lifted up my spirit this week! But only one can win, who's is it gonna be? You aren't in LOCKDOWN! You have some things that are postponed and some restrictions…don't over dramatize. China did a lockdown in Wuhan province, meaning no one was allowed to leave their home AT ALL. No one in Australia, US, Canada, etc were ever locked down.
Congratulations Leylah… i hope everyone your age have the same goals to be successful and have that passion.. you are such an inspiration. Godbless you.
Leylah at this moment deserve to win the title for leaving behind GS champs players and top 5 players.. Raducanu has her history breaking . Now its Leylah time..
Thank you for finally putting the Philippines in the tennis map. We are all cheering for you. From what you have shown to us in the US Open, you will go a long way and achieve greatness. Keep working hard and believe in yourself. More power to you and your family. We love you.

Just an observation but having watched the majority of on court and post match interviews it seems Raducanu is always asked multiple questions about Fernandez in every interview however Raducanu's name is not mentioned in any of Fernandez interviews. Why do you think this is?
Noticed that as well. I fear it's because she has a certain look and they want to be able to push her past tennis and make her more of a personality. So questions like this, they'll be able to use her answers for any story they want tabloid wise. If that makes sense.
The press and media are playing their game too. They want Fernandez to win. Her charismatic personality attracts so many people’s attention AND Fernández, her team and family have been VERY friendly with the press, which is very smart. Rooting for Leylah. Go Leylah! Go Canada!!! 🇨🇦
Leylah: Basically a millionaire and a grand slam finalist
Her teacher: 👁️👄👁️ but school..
🇨🇦🇵🇭🇪🇨 Proud of you Leyla.. 💗
I never been that much excited about a WTA match than this upcoming final with her and Raducanu...
It will be very interesting to see the "kind of" Djokovic girl against the "kind of" Nadal girl 😁
("Djoko like" for Raducanu because she's playing smart rather than agressive, and "Nadal like" for Fernandez because lefty obviously, but mostly because she's willing to take risky shots)
Nadal and Novak are both smart and aggressive
Beside being lefty...Leylah got that mental toughness of the younger Nadal
@@jeffreykaufmann2867 Obviously, that's why they are top of the top. But Novak is more calculative than aggresive, and Nadal the other way around
@@daisyluis472 Agreed. That's why she's willing to take risky shot and don't choke or overthinks
EXACTLY. This is a DREAM MATCH for every in Women's Tennis history. Both are talented and technical player and I wish them luck and just have fun.👍👍👍😀😀😀🇨🇦🇨🇦🇵🇭🇵🇭
What an awesome young lady? Very articulate, humble and grateful for everything that’s coming her way. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I hope she wins the ladies US Open Championship. 👏👏👏BRAVO LEYLA. 🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦🇨🇦shout out from Sydney Oz
Emma born in Toronto. Leylah born in Montreal. All-Canadian final. We can't lose!
@Tim Brown agree England won the US open. Brexit now this, can things get any better for England.
She's fun to watch play. Very refreshing and something new. Like her energy and upbeat personality.
I never had an interest in sports, but suddenly I have had a huge interest in Tennis because of Leylah. Its such a fascinating and entertaining game and I love that it is easy to follow in comparison to football haha. Keep it up! Canada is rooting for you!
She's amazing on and off the court
My fellow Canadian star is my new %100 favorite. Remarkable, she deserves everything she gets.
Canada can be duly proud, yet Leylah is far bigger than that. She is a gift to us all. As an American, I could not be more proud and supportive of her. Truly a magical run. Godspeed Leylah!
Wish these journalist would ask her a question about the actual match. Would have been nice to hear if she was surprised by sabalankas serve and power….how she was able to absorb it. Go LF!
I agree. Terrible questions even during the on-court post match interview.
Sabalenka would absorb you, she's huge
She’s very much like Djokovic the way she can return these huge serves of Sabalanka. Leylah’s got game, high tennis IQ.
They are just journalist and hardly a couple of them know anything about tennis at all. What do you expect from those losers? They have always asked terrible question and will always ask terrible question
They are journalists
What did u expect…😂
Go Leyla! It is yours. You're a natural champion!!The resilient character is in your blood,!
What a WONDERFUL human. I’m so happy for her!!!!!!!
Both Emma and Leylah are so exciting to watch. Breath of fresh air in Women's tennis. Great attitude, humility, candor, happy-just-to-be-here persona, no princess tantrums, no awkwardness, just awesome.
So proud of her and her family. They stuck together through adversity and came out on top. Regardless if the outcome of the finals, Leylah and Emma have achieved a milestone that few ha e achieved. Being Filipino i am routing for Leylah, very proud of her accomplushment to date. More power to her game and hope that she stays grounded.❤️💝❤️
Maravilloso descubrir a Layla como jugadora y persona. Su estilo enfocado en cada pelota y como disfruta el juego es un inspiración. Trae frescura al tenis de alto nivel. Graciassss
You’re so kind and humble! Keep playing like a Champion! Go Leyla!
It will be a tough match, but I am rooting for Leylah!!!!!
Rest well and have a sleep Leylah🇨🇦🎾. You looked very tired in the presscon because you played 3 sets successively😢😱 but you answered the questions very well. You and mom looked like sisters😁.
Leylah at 19: US Open finals
Me at 19: throwing popcorns in the air and cactching it using my mouth
I think her show of humility, hardwork, and determination to rise despite all odds are all very Filipino. Thanks to her Filipino mom who grounded her pretty well.
Raducanu is in fire form. Hopefully Leylah can manage her shots!!!
Is Raducanu more powerful than Sabalenka or Osaka?
They both cover a lot of ground so we can expect many rallies :)
@@remyd1984 Its payback time mate
@@Rob-cs5du it will be interesting thats for sure but imo there's only been 1 dominant player this hole tournament and she's english!
@@remyd1984 I didn't hear about Emma winning the wimbledon junior title
Aaaaaaaaaahahaha aaaaaaaaaahahahahaha, How did that prediction go for you?
Your story always make me cry how lovely your thoughts are!!! Wish you a beautiful life and a beautiful carrer!!!
Rooting for this girl 🙌👏❤️
🇨🇦🇪🇨🇵🇭 Pride!!!
Love her. Amazing story about her teacher telling her she'd never make it. - Chris
Amazing, amazing, amazing talent, achievement, personality, outlook, maturity ...goooo gurrrl !!!
I am watching women‘s Tennis now because of her and Raducanu….I am
glad they don‘t scream that‘s one reason why I don‘t follow wta that much😍😍😍😍
Actually, tennis fans are so frenzy. We are always focus on the men's side, but with these two promising superstars, the field is even. This US Open will be the most exciting and memorable Slam ever. 21 for '21 if Djocovic wins.
Humility! She has a new fan and for the first time, I'm waiting for this women's final.
Proud Pilipino Godbless you for the Final stay safe healthy always
Very proud of this lady ..Ecuadorian and philipino descent
Curious, if she has a child will it be of Canadian descent, or still Ecuadorian and Filipino? How far back do we go? I know an American man whose great great great grandfather was British and fought for the British in the "American Civil War" who married a British woman, whose great great great grandfather was born in America and fought for the Americans in the "War of Independence". It's all kind of silly isn't it.
Congratulations Leylah.
Get it, girl!
( I think the real winners here are the Tennis Lovin Fans! )
You aren't in LOCKDOWN! You have some things that are postponed and some restrictions…don't over dramatize. China did a lockdown in Wuhan province, meaning no one was allowed to leave their home AT ALL. No one in Australia, US, Canada, etc were ever locked down.
@@stupidas9466 Are you in Australia?
I honestly didnt think she would make it this far and i am GLAD I was wrong I hope she takes the tournament tomorrow!
I melt every time she smile
A beautiful smile! 🤩😍
Congratulations Leylah… i hope everyone your age have the same goals to be successful and have that passion.. you are such an inspiration. Godbless you.
Wonderful!
What a Final we going to have with the two teenage sensations
What an incredible young lady! So focused, so graceful. A lovely role model for young girls who worship the Kardatrash instead of true talents 💗
"everyday we just have to keep working hard, we have to keep going forward, nothing is impossible, there is no limit to what I can do" 1:29
Leylah at this moment deserve to win the title for leaving behind GS champs players and top 5 players.. Raducanu has her history breaking . Now its Leylah time..
Leylah 19 & Emma 18 they are a joy to watch. What a journey for both of them at the US Open 2021.. 💚❤️😎🇵🇭
Thank you for finally putting the Philippines in the tennis map. We are all cheering for you. From what you have shown to us in the US Open, you will go a long way and achieve greatness. Keep working hard and believe in yourself. More power to you and your family. We love you.
What a match it will be between these two. Can't wait!
I wasn't wrong.
Really like her. I like Emma too. Whoever comes out of top in the final will be a winner. There will still be two winners.
To summarize. When u have a dream, work hard for it, chase it and believe in yourself no matter what other people might say. Brava Leylah you proved yourself worth chasing your dream and you proved your detractors wrong.
Congratulations..Just love her style of game..Love her infectious smile..So pure, sweet and funny..Can't wait to see you play in the finals..
Rooting for you..You are my Favorite..

She's absolutely superb player for me ...
This may be the Women's Final but these two young women has made it a Teenage Final.
😁👍🏴🇨🇦
🇬🇧
leylah is a gem unfolding...amidst the pandemic world, tons and tons of positive energy are released in every tennis game in the US open...
What a difference in press conference than Osaka
Leylah is such a class act.
journalists should start asking relevant questions about the match rather than only the reflection on her run. She is trying to mentally prepare for the finals and win the whole thing yet they keep dwelling making history.
Leylah seems long haul player. Regardless of finals results, I wish her to continue to be successful player for years to come.
The way you smile and charisma in the crowd signifies your root as a Filipino, am happy watching your game
Because Fernandez is their favourite and in their eyes the best
The press and media are playing their game too. They want Fernandez to win. Her charismatic personality attracts so many people’s attention AND Fernández, her team and family have been VERY friendly with the press, which is very smart. At this point all the American continent + Philippines are rooting for her.
She's darling of the crowd ! And favorite to win the title . She had a tough 4 opponents than raducanu .
She has made a stamp on this sport forever and a precursor to what she will do in the future. She will be an authentic ambassador of the sport. More to come.
I have never watched tennis until this week! Wow! Now I'm hooked!
She is so sweet and so talented.
