I know this is an older vid, but i think you actually improved on Beba’s method! Thankyou. There seems to be a resurgence in mosaic crochet. Your videos are invaluable for little tips and tricks. Thank you
Thanks for the help. This is the BEST EVER double border video I ever seen. It's clear, your closeups of examples are on point, you get to the point, not a whole lot of chatting about pets and nonsense and the time it took you to explain is perfect 👌. God Bless You for sharing your thoughts about how to make double crochet borders a joyful thing to do. 😊 HAPPY HOOKING! 🖤🤎🤍💜💙💚💛🧡❤🧶🧶
Very neat work and technique. Never seen the tying of the 2 yarns together. Much neater and not as wonky as the other way. I continue to learn something new all the time.
I was wondering if a FPDC would work too? BTW thanks so much for showing this it's much easier than the slip stitch method. And the knotting is such a good idea too!
Hi Sandra! Good question! No-you skip the invisible join (I’ve actually changed the way I do the invisible join since making this video. I now skip the first stitch of the round and work the invisible join into the 2nd stitch. This sort of wraps the 1st stitch with the join instead of creating that small gap you wondered about and keeps your stitch count on track. I hope that makes sense.)😊
I weave it into the same color row about 1-2”. I usually weave forward, back over that, and then forward again (3 direction changes) to make sure it doesn’t pull out.
Hi Connie! Thanks for your question. I am doing a technique called Mosaic Overlay crochet. The project is only worked from the front side and the colors are alternated each row. There is a method I've seen (but haven't tried, where the yarn is carried either up the side or through the row), but this is the traditional method. I have other tutorials that explain the technique in more detail if you're interested! ☺
Hi Elaine! The front post work is just for the first round. You work a regular HDC st under both loops of each stitch for the rest of the rounds-and you can make as many rounds as you want until you achieve the width you want.

Thank you for showing this easy method. I have just done my first double border the hard way😣😣
Definitely use your method next time.👏♥️🇦🇺

Love this. Thank you.❤

OMG!!!!! As Chandra said, GAME CHANGER!! THANK YOU!!
Wow, using FPhdc stitches instead of slip stitches looks so much easier!

Yes! 🙂 I have a video about it if you're interested. th-cam.com/video/JPAArFt1od0/w-d-xo.html
Thanks I'll check it out now. This is such an easier way to do the border.
You are the best thank you so much for sharing ❤️ 💕 💗 💖
I love it! Thanks 😊
Thanks so much for all-you-can-eat help.
Wow! Game changer☺ you make it look easy
Thank you so much! ☺
Thank you 😊
This is sooo much easier and seems quicker than slip stitches. Thank you. Awesome video!😊
Thank you! I'm glad it helps! ☺
Do you make one knot per two strands or two?
One knot ☺
Can I use acrylic, cotton or both?
Either option is fine. 😊
Hi. Love your video. I do have a question. When doing the second round, do I crochet in the space of the invisible join stitch?

@@heathernobledesigns Thanks. Could you do a video of the second version. I learn by watching.
@@sandramayers1787 I will put it on my list!😊
Sorry but I have one more question. Is there a 2 stitches increases in every side with every round? Thanks
@@sandramayers1787 yes-you will increase at each corner.
Hi Heather, after you do the last invisible join, How do you weave in the end so it also is invisible but secure?
I weave it into the same color row about 1-2”. I usually weave forward, back over that, and then forward again (3 direction changes) to make sure it doesn’t pull out.
Thank you and thank you for making thank you for making this video :)@@heathernobledesigns
Just curious: why do you cut the yarn after that first round instead of continuing on to next round?

@@heathernobledesigns I think she is asking about cutting the yarn before the invisible join though I don't want to put words in her mouth LOL>
@HeatherNobleDesigns how do you continue with the back border? I need more than a few rows.
