... Could sit and watch this for hours... Another rival to Tom Harland's S4 'Bramblewick'. The variety of stock and scenery is inspirational, most of all the change from 01 to 9F on the Consett iron ore traffic. Like the allotments ...

Fantastic. Love the detail in everything, also the working signals. A lot of work has gone into this. Sound of the loco' banking up to Consett would have been great just add that bit more. Could watch for hours 🙂

I used to watch these trains running up to Consett steelworks at South Pelaw, where my Grandma lived. There was a small road bridge before the main road from chester-le street to pelton, next to the waste tip. If i remember rightly the lines used to run to the docks at Sunderland, and there was also a junction with the main east coast line to Newcastle.

I love your signals, especially the NE slotted one. I used to wonder how I could ever get the bounce as the upper quadrant signal arm came 'off'...like the tall ones did on the Midland at Napsbury (when there was a station there).

Superb modelling. Very much my mother in-law's country. Intrigued by the lower quadrant signal at the beginning, I wasn't aware the LNER/BR(E) had them.

2:19 the O1 seems to be doing some strange oscillations as it passes the signal. Fantastic looking layout btw...

Yeah, I noticed when editing the video but it was too late to do anything about it by then.

Hi anyone know the type of wagons appearing at 5:23 ?

56T bogie hopper wagons build specifically for the Tyne Dock to Consett iron ore trains, they were only ever used on the line (from 1954 to 1974), no where else on the rail network.
