GO UP dance practice was the start of their fame. They were bashed before and when their GO UP dance practice blew up, went viral, tables have turned; people believed in them and their talents. That was how SB19 first known for. It's just amazing and still give me chills cuz the song is sort of prophetic. Like, the GO UP song has really made them GO UP!
It's true! A'TIN gave up the fan chants. You know what's funny? Their 1st performance after COVID, all of us were super excited coz we missed them so much. We came prepared, we practiced the fan chants, and the fandom even distributed flyers about those fan chants so no one mess up, but lo and behold they gave a different spin to their already amazing songs. Well, we had a blast, we can't complain. They're so awesome live. So happy for you Tanya, you'll finally meet them.

SB19_Stell did most if not all of the choreography before the PAGTATAG Era. I still think that Stell's choreography captured the emotions, and told the story of the song in detail. Pablo wrote the song, Justin directed the music video, Stell choreographed the dance, Josh added flair with his rap piece, and Ken gave it depth with his voice. Totally a group effort. This why we love Mahalima (beloved five) so much, and I think why you’re starting to feel the same! 😂❤

(but most of the choreography was made by Stell) if Ken also helped to choreo he must be mentioned in the credits too but his name wasn't there.

Stell was the main choreographer for this. Please do watch Bazinga dance rehearsal. That's the best. In the MV, the choreo wasn't good as another choreographer made it. When Stell added the dance break, it became epic!

They did great despite many setbacks until they can finally launch this. They've proven what they can do on their own, and this started a very distinct sound and concept for their group. Probably also when they started conceptualizing their 1Z company. And yeah, double entendre: patriotism to the country and patronizing one's self. They all had a hand in this iconic piece written by Pablo.

This song is a comeback for them and it was released as a single before it formed part of the Pagsibol EP. Per Pablo, this is an introduction of who SB19 is (apart from their Korean training background that was prominent in previous song releases). It highlighted each of the members as performers and as Filipinos. The song was composed by Pablo, the dance was choreographed by Stell and for the music video Justin was the creative director. The main message of the song is to be proud of who you are and what you bring to the table. You may not be the best but you can still contribute. Wave your flag (individuality, skills, beliefs, etc.) proudly. 😊 It also has a patriotic feel because they always say their aim is to raise Filipino music to the world. So "world domination" without bullets but with "bars" (rap bars).

SB19_Stell did most if not all of the choreography before the PAGTATAG Era. I still think that Stell's choreography captured the emotions, and told the story of the song in detail. "What" is a representation of the group that Pablo wrote in order to inspire people.. in their "The Making of" vlog series, he explained that we should be proud of what we are and that even though the things we can do is not the best there is, we should love and give our best to show the true potential.. and it shows through the music video, where it shows Pablo's ingenuity of the words and line distribution, Stell's amazing choreography, Justin's creativity in their MV, Ken's otherworldly deep voice and Josh's rap prowess.. each of them gave their best in their own craft, and the result is something as amazing and captivating...

Pablo said "What?" is about raising your own flag, and waving it proudly. Stell mentioned that when he doubted himself, Pablo told him it's okay not to be the best/greatest, as long as you're giving/producing something. The What? I think What? was the era of SB19 v2. When covid hit, their korean bosses went back to korea, so they were given the creative freedom. They did great despite many setbacks until they can finally launch this. They've proven what they can do on their own, and this started a very distinct sound and concept for their group. Probably also when they started conceptualizing their 1Z company. And yeah, double entendre: patriotism to the country and patronizing one's self. They all had a hand in this iconic piece written by Pablo.
The "Father" in there means God..in the last part of the song, Pablo even shouted "Hallelujah"

Along with GO UP dance practice, they do some challenges like the GO UP 2X SPEED DANCE CHALLENGE, GO UP BLINDFOLD CHALLENGE and GO UP SWITCH PART CHALLENGE. You should check them all. This What? era was one of their biggest comeback. The members had all hands in the creative process, from the music, choreography, creative direction. This was a clear testament to what their capable of, especially if you give them free reigns in their music. This was an ambitious undertaking that they excellently pulled off, taking from the message of the song to raise your own flag and believe in ones self.

More than a patriotic song as it may be interpreted, Pablo said that "watawat" (literally means flag but Pablo used it symbolically as " yourself ") he said it was more of being proud of your skills, abilities and who you are even if you feel that the world is full of more talented/skilled people - raise your own flag is like uplift oneself. The line "di na kailangan ng bala para i-angat ang Bandera directly translates to bullets are not needed to raise ones flag...but figuratively it means criticizing/putting down on others isnt needed to build oneself ( and as the song goes to simply show what you got whether someone does it better..be proud of oneself)
The line "Ama salamat ikaw ang aking agimat" ..the word ama in English means father but in the song Ama is God the Father....salamat means thank you ..agimat means amulet but in the song it means source of power...as in God the Father is their source of power. 😊

Per Pablo, this is an introduction of who SB19 is (apart from their Korean training background that was prominent in previous song releases). It highlighted each of the members as performers and as Filipinos. The song was composed by Pablo, the dance was choreographed by Stell and for the music video Justin was the creative director. The main message of the song is to be proud of who you are and what you bring to the table. You may not be the best but you can still contribute. Wave your flag (individuality, skills, beliefs, etc.) proudly. 😊 It also has a patriotic feel because they always say their aim is to raise Filipino music to the world. So "world domination" without bullets but with "bars" (rap bars).
