    Just wanted to mention that used baby wipes on both acrylic paint and spray adhesive on a reusable stencil and then rinsed with water. Worked great on my items.

      TY for that tip on the baby wipes to clean stencils. When you say Used dost that mean dry or damp wipes. I know it’s a silly question but I’m barely a beginner and need the baby steps to help me out so I don’t get discouraged. Ty for your help.

      @@adriankap2978 that’s a good question. I used the damp kind as in right from the package. I’m pretty sure they were a pack I’d purchased at Dollar Tree.

    Thanks so much for this video! I'm a huge fan of Goo Gone but didn't even think of using it to get the adhesive spray off my stencil. I appreciate the reminder!!

    You can also use the household cleaner awesome as well.

    May I suggest using Citra Solv. It is a citrus based all purpose cleaner that does not leave a lingering smell when removing adhesives. I sparingly soak a cloth in the product and lay it on wherever I want adhesive removed and it comes clean. The reason I suggest it is because goo gone leaves a lingering smell in my opinion. Stay safe Peace

    I use Citrol to remove adhesive. Works super fast and my stencils look great. I just spray it on and rinse them after lightly rubbing it on stencil. Hubby buys it in bulk for cleaning his coveralls.

    Spray 3in1 Silicone lubricant or treadmill lubricant onto the stencil and with your hand or a cloth. Rub it lightly all over and if you rub finger on stencil it will squeak. Rinse with dish soap and warm water. Done in 5 minutes. Stencil is just like new. Easy!

    You mentioned that you "scrubbed" them with the products. How to you not bend pieces of the stencil with "scrubbing"? I just worked on a stencil and had to be really careful because of all the edges of the design - what a pain. Thank you

    • @LovelyEtc
      @LovelyEtc  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Great question. It helped that I put my stencil in the bathtub - a deep sink would also work. Either way, with the stencil flat against the bottom of the tub, it kept the little pieces in place well. Also, I tried to be extra gentle when scrubbing around any more detailed sections of the stencil and not press down very hard. Using the goof off really helps too though because you don't need to scrub much as all for it to work.

      What exactly are you scrubbing with? Is it an eraser sponge or a brush with bristles. It seems you are actually scrubbing without any damage to your stencils which is impressive. Thanks so much for all these tips. I really appreciate all the work you put into the video.

      Agree. It's just not possible with some stencils. Some are quite fragile. Others I have are okay to scrub. Yeah, I'm having same problem cleaning them. When I'm in the middle of stenciling I keep going as long as possible. I don't want to wash because you don't want any extra water/moisture which will just cause bleed.

    • @LovelyEtc

      Hello! I'm actually not using ink pads for this video. I am showing how to remove both latex and acrylic craft paints from stencils. That is what I use for most of my projects. They may have instructions on the back of the ink pad to show how to clean them.

    I have adhesive residue on my project. Do you have any recommendations

    • @LovelyEtc
      @LovelyEtc  ปีที่แล้ว

      I would make sure the paint has had plenty of time to dry and then gently remove it with goo gone. It might be a good idea to test the goo gone in a small less conspicuous spot first just to be sure it won't cause an issue, but I think it should be safe.

  • @alicef207
    @alicef207 3 ปีที่แล้ว

    How do you clean them during the project? I've just finished an order of 8 napkins (25 stamps on each napkin 😅) and found that the fabric paint was drying really quickly and building up on my stencil. It would be a lot to have to do a proper clean of it between each napkin!

    • @LovelyEtc
      @LovelyEtc  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      In the past, I would just let the paint build up as long as possible to avoid cleaning, lol. But in the future, I am going to do a quick clean using Goof off without worrying about removing every speck of paint. It really is the fastest, easiest way I've found.

      When you scrub though, you have to be super careful of small stencil areas

    • @nuvoclassic
      @nuvoclassic ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Note: I don't let product dry on stencils while working. When stenciling with paint, pastes of adhesives, I put a dishpan half filled with water on floor near my workstation. Then I toss the wet stencil in the water after using once until stenciling session is done. I don't use the same stencil over and over. Then I take dishpan to sink and clean stencils with dish soap [dawn or ivory] mixed into the water. When using stencils with permanent stamping inks I do NOT clean them. Fyi, I don't use products with odors [i.e.goo gone, undu, etc.] due to asthma/copd. Good video. tfs!

    To get the adhesive off, what do you use to scrub the stencil with? Can you do it in a sink?

    • @LovelyEtc
      @LovelyEtc  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes, you can definitely do it in a sink. I just use the tub because I have some big wall stencils. And to remove the adhesive, you really don't have to scrub. Just spray on the goo gone, wait a few minutes and then wipe it off with a clean rag or paper towel. Then rinse it well.

    First of all the glue is cleaned right away by soaking in WD40. Secondly, I still can't find a proper way to clean the paint omg..
