- I finally get to check out the thrifting situation in Charlottesville, Virginia. I only had time to hit up the 2 Twice is Nice locations, thank goodness they were close to one another! I found some great thrifted clothing finds, some beautiful thrifted vintage home decor and some jewelry. This video also has a full haul of what I got, what I paid and what I'm keeping! Love those thrift stores…greatly set up and so bright. All of those tops are great on you Amanda. I just read a news piece about a woman who bought an Italian blown glass vase in the Richmond Va. goodwill for 3.99 and sold it at auction for over $100,000! Best part is she has no heat in her old farmhouse and can get and hvac system installed. How great is that!
I saw that too! Very inspiring. I don’t know if I would have clocked it as a Murano glass vase 🧐 Glad she had the intuition to pick it up!
Love your personality! The Flamingo set & Navy waist cut jacket were so cute!! Great buys! You should keep that black dress. Very flattering! Even tho he was cooking, it’s so sweet how Mike was supporting your fashion reveal! 🌿The wall of baskets is such a good idea for Lucketts & will be pretty visually(might have to emulate that one!🤩)

Oh there were so many things I wanted you to get at the thrift store!!! I wouldn’t have been able to pass up the vintage desk topper! Such a cool piece! You look so cute in all the clothes! And I love the green earrings on you! Especially excited about the old man portrait with the basket on your wall! Even if it’s temporary until you bring it to the booth!
I thought for sure she would pick up the desk topper and throw some hairpin legs on it and make a table

That leather chair .... wing back style & color is classic English country house -- cover the seat cushion w/ a rug ( like your pillows ) the torn leather on the back can be repaired w/ hide glue ... Yes , it's work but a "find " @ that price -- a rare bird , indeed out in the wild ! What are your thoughts ?

I subscribed to your channel the second you noted that you were not wearing your lucky sweater. Hundred percent relatable! Will follow you into any thrift store.
Your style is usually more androgenous so its lovely to see you in lighter colours, more fitting outfits, they really suit and flatter you.
I love pairing a denim shirt like that with a heavier damask or similar fabric skirt that has a little sparkle in it. Such a great foil. I know it’s a lot of work, but I hope every year that you keep up with the videos. Maybe not every day, maybe twice a week?

I was asking because I see that you're shopping in C'ville so thought you might have a booth at the Factory in Verona. Just now seeing video of you going to your booth there. I had several spots there years ago before I moved to NewYork. Well actually kept my booths there for several years after I moved here till monthly trip just got to be too much. Great place...miss it!

Hi Amanda: I live in Charlottesville and have gone many times to Twice as Nice. The other one is right across the street and is equally good. I think the difference between the two is the one across the street has a larger selection of clothing; but, still has home goods and furniture as well.

I'm a new subscriber, and I'm so excited each time you post. Vlogmas has been amazing. I noticed that when you were doing your try on, you tucked in the entire front of the shirt. I think it would be really flattering and a slightly more updated look if you tried only tucking half of the shirt, especially with those botton ups!

That painting is everything! And I would cut off the "too short" dress, because it would make a great shirt, and looks fabulous under the wool jacket. Yes, keep the jacket. 😬

I shop here all the time- I’ve gotten some wonderful things. Both stores benefit Seniors. Fifth season is nice but wayyyy overpriced.
I donated a basket like that- my cat used to sleep in it even though it was hanging on the wall. It held our mittens and gloves

Twice As Nice is a great thrift store. They know what the quality is and price accordingly because they support local charities, free clothing to homeless and the poor.

I'm sure it just depends on where we live, but those prices seemed quite high to me for thrift stores.

I haven’t been thrifting in Charlottesville in a couple of years. I found most of the shoppes were really cleared out every time I went. I usually had better luck in the Fredericksburg to Richmond areas.

If your on the fence about the shorter at your waist black,navy and pink sweaters. Don’t be. That shape where it hits you on your waist is very flattering to your figure. I recently went through my entire wardrobe and had my adult daughter critique each item and say if it was a flattering to my shape opinion. If I disagreed with her she’d take my photo in it to prove to me and then I could she her point every time.

Next time you go to cville, there's an SPCA thrift store over near Whole Foods on Hydraulic that's open til 6, the Goodwill on 250 next to Harbor Freight is open til 7, and Salvation Army on Cherry but it's only open til 5:30. There's also Heyday Antiques, Circa, and the ReStore all in that McIntire Plaza. And Kenny Ball Antiques on Ivy Rd. I haven't been to that one - probably too expensive for me. lol
Have you ever gone to the 43 mile long Route 11 Yard Crawl? That intrigues me, but also seems overwhelming. Sadly, I left all my thrifting buddies behind in NY. 😢
