Just saw a company that charges $125 PLUS TWO SHIPPING CHARGES AND INSURANCE! to unlock a CF-30 Toughbook! So I’ll add that cost to the amount of money your videos and swift and accurate emails have saved me when building and deploying Toughbooks to our contractors! Or conversely your video has caused the Economic Destruction of several tech support shops. Forget abbbbbooout it! You did a great thing here. Oh yea nice Pajamas!
Yep. Thanks alot! bobjohnson.com They charge a TON to do anything or for any parts. I found a CF-31 on ebay and took a chance. I guess the password like I mentioned before I think and that was a great deal. The other one I paid a guy on ebay to unlock it. As long as it wasn't a newest model he could unlock it which he did. He claimed that he wrote a program to take it out. Another company would charge 500 bucks to do the same thing. But Bobjohnson wants YOU to send the cf 31 and buy one of there's. That isn't a good idea. They are going to make 1000 off of it. The CF30 is very easy to break open. Maybe I can buy the one I am watching off ebay and do another video to totally prove it that they are just making money off you. Being like that I don't like. Sure you have to make money. But not by swindling good people.
I wanted to get another one but they are getting hard to find at a cheaper price. The ones with the cd drive, ac adapter, hard drive with caddy and ram are good deal. But they are real old and not very fast. My dad uses his for ham radio stuff. Bob Johnson's computer service wants you to send it in and buy a new one so they can easily fix the cf30 and sell it for a huge price. When I tried the cmos battery trick and it worked I got another one and tried it out. This is the video.
Thanks for helping me so very very much. You’ve saved me money not only on tech costs but also on the machines now worth purchasing! Additionally by using Mint Linux I am able to spend no Addison all funds for an OS. The Mint OS distros allow full functionality and OBII software capabilities. So in summary for $325. I have a MilSpec laptop with a new 1 TB SSD, New Longlife Battery - 9hours, replaced and calibrated Touchscreen. It runs my shooting software with GPS, works with my automotive tuning software, etc!!!! They truly are the best machine for so many uses. The BIO’s issue was the keystone to making it all work. Thank you
Great! Glad to help out. I have noticed this video sure gets a lot of views. More than I expected. I wish I wasn't wearing my pajamas! Those CF-30's are very cheap to find on Ebay. Problem is you have to buy a DVD Drive, HD Caddy and HD, Memory and Windows 7 if you want to go windows at least. So it's expensive to start out. My dad got a CF-30 I fixed and I put in a Samsung 850 Evo 250G and maxed out the ram. That thing is very fast for it's age. Little slower than I wanted so I found a CF-31 and sent it to a guy on Ebay who was able to crack the bios password for me. Another CF-31 I found I guess the password was " Password " in the bios! What luck! The i5 3220 cpu is the one you want. It is the 3rd gen i5 and it is quick. The next one up is just way too expensive. Put all your upgrades in that one like the SSD and 16G of ram! That will just fly. My dad used his CF-31 for field day at a ham fest with the N1NM logger program and it had no issues at all Rock solid. I have seen others on Craigslist with claimed 5K software for big trucks and other automotive software go for a crazy price. Problem is once you know how easy it is to fix then you can keep buying them. They are very good machines. Thanks again and I'm glad to help anybody out!
FYI This doesn't work on CF-31 and if you send it in to Heartland they will charge 500 to remove it. They want you to buy a new one and give them the locked one so they can unlock it and sell it for 3k or something ridiculous . Check out ebay auctions for there are a few that might have the tools to remove the password cuz I did and it works fine now. But the older ones like cf-30 you can easily get the password removed by taking out the cmos battery.
OMG, I reset the bios to default settings after installing the GPS module. Thinking it wouldn't hurt. Well, here's a warning, resetting the bios to Factory Settings, or pulling the CMOS Battery will enable the BIOS passowrd EVEN if you currently don't have one. This password was baked in at the factory per the customer's order specification. I did not know. Bricked my CF-19. So I'm trying "admin" "adminstartor" "admin123" as the passowrd. Giving up, and just for the heck of it, I type "password" and it accepted it!!!!! OMG, I'm saved. Thank you lord. Lesson learned. Don't reset to default, or pull the cmos battery. Other people on youtube had success with "badboys" as the password for older models. Who knows, give a try for the most commonly set passwords, and you have luck.
This guide is only for the cf-30. Might work and might not. Newer cf-30 have issues so it might not work. Standard passwords should always be tried out. Setting to the factory defaults wouldn't setup a password either. Glad you got it unlocked with a password.
barry k.what if a do a reinstallation, like a clean install will that remove the supervisor password?,but i don't need to back up nothing ,theres nothing in this Panasonic CF-53 that i want to save,i just dont want to wipe out the OS on it?do i still need to back up the OS files? or can i just do it and reinstall windows and start all over again, and give it a new password, and just one password this time.Thank you for all the other replys, hope you can advise me once again before doing the reinstallation a clean install
doesn't seem to work on my cf-30. cmos battery has been disconnected for about a year and the main battery has been out a year but still needs a bios password on boot?
They are about 50 on eBay which is reasonable. Make sure you get an ssd. On the i5 they are quick 8 or 16 g of ram. Quick machines. Even the cf 30 is descent system.
Just bought a cf-53 on eBay with same problem going to give this a shot but since it has a newer system I'm going to wait a few days before repluging the CMOS battery if this doesn't work going to go through the command prompt as soon as I get a HDD in and windows loaded
Rick L I would try it after an hour or so. remember to remove the regular battery and try turning it on with no power. then try it. don't plug the cmos back in yet. see what happens
Hey there, No the CMOS didn't work since it has a much newer motherboard this trick does not work for newer systems like I figured but to answer everyone's question yes I figured how to get rid off the password on the 53 model takes time, in total around 2hrs but after this password is cleared and ready to be messed with, I couldn't even load windows because I think the USB Boot was disabled while password was active but now ok.
Na I figured it out myself, I hold a belt in several things regarding computers like went to school for it long ago back then it was a lot easier, all I can say about this one is first this is my first toughbook and second this is the most pain in the ass to work on because you have to fully disassemble if you need to get to the motherboard compared to some HP's or DELL's
Hi opened my Cf30 up held it for 60 seconds, flicked the button on off, then waited too, left the cmos off just put the main battery in, but still asked for a password
Leave it all unplugged for a while. Maybe a day. Sometimes the trick I got lucky with doesn't work. Newer cf-30 may not work. Try all the bios passwords in the description.
So you pulled the cmos battery and removed the regular battery. Then with no access adapter you tried to turn on and hold the power switch for 10 seconds or so then let it sit for a few hours sometimes 24 hours?
barry k. Thanks boss. I'm looking at a CF-30 MK3 on ebay and in the pictures, there is one of the BIOS information tab, and on the very bottom it says "Access Level: Supervisor" The seller doesn't know the supervisor password so really not sure how to fully unlock it. That would be great if this same process works.
Well I got 2 CF-30's off ebay and both where locked with a bios password. Now that doesn't mean it won't boot off a cd and then install windows on an ssd or mechanical drive. They disable certain ports depending on where it came from. But I know for a fact you can take off the bottom like I did and unpug the cmos battery. Let it turn on and then restore defaults. The password should be removed. But of course on that model you would get off ebay might be different. My CF-31 I put in password and the password and that worked. I haven't tried to unplug the cmos battery on that one yet and test it.
barry k. No, mine is a cf30 as well but I just want to make sure that before I buy it if your process will remove that supervisor access level because the seller doesn't know the supervisor password.
Yah I know you are thinking about getting the CF-30 off ebay. I can't guarantee that it will work but from what I did on 2 different CF-30 I think it should work. On the newer models which are the CF-31 I think they made it so the bios password was stored in another location so that trick will no longer work.
Yes this works on not only a Panasonic but many other brands too. Its been around for many years. Have to do the process correctly though. Take out cmos battery. Take out regular battery. Remove ac adapter. Try and turn it on with no power so no power is left. Let it sit with no cmos battery for about 10 min or let it sit a while longer. Then try and turn it on and it should be cleared out. Many had success but 1 person might of not done it right or he may had a newer cf-30 and that is why it wouldn't clear. There is also a password in the description and it works on many so you can try that too.
Title shows for a cf-30. Might not work on all cf-30. Doesn't show anything about a cf-51. Have to try other means to get it removed from your different model.
@@barrysauce I'll try it out, it's a little upsetting since the seller on eBay stated it "had a bios password" but they worded it wrong meaning it had a password screen
@@RyanJosephPerez Yes try known passwords. If it boots up or maybe pull the old drive and see if you can find some old files maybe? Oh that sucks. So you got it from eBay and the description wasn't really accurate? Mine are old police laptops and those are passwords they have told me so if you buy one from there lot of toughbooks the bios password may work. Some do not have those some do just depends. It is a newer one too since the one in the video is way older. Its not even 64bit cpu yours is for sure so newer bios and they took out all that easy stuff to remove the password. I sent one of mine in and the guy removed it since he made a custom program or he just happens to have the one from Panasonic to remove the passwords. Other companies do and they will buy yours and remove it and sell it. Don't give up . Try and remove the cmos again no battery no cmos battery no power cord. Try and turn it on and hold the power button down and leave it after all power is gone. Might take a day. Guides online to physically remove something off the board and can do that. Can boot into windows and try and update the bios IN windows and that might help too. A big hammer and running it over with a big truck always feels good too.
As I wrote in the video description and mentioned in the video this works usually on the cf-30 and not the cf-31. The 31 is a different hardware. Have to check out ebay and the web on somebody that can remove it.
Probably a better bios. I did say in the description that this might not work on all CF-30's. The laptop you have is a different model. Might have to do some searching to find out options.
I don't think so. I remember somebody else commenting about that and it didn't work. If it is an i5 it probably won't work. If it is the one that you need to tear it completely apart just to get to it then I don't think it will.
Hmm lets see when I was buying them for some reason like groceries. I have 2 CF-31's One I guess the password was password and the other i sent to an ebay dude who for 50 cleared it off I have 3 I think cf-30's that are fine but they are only 32 bit cpu so not really worth it anymore. Put in the ssd and the 16g of ram and they are still nice. But the batteries are junk and you can't really find one. I wish somebody would make a mod to change the entire touchpad top part so the touchpad wouldn't suck but thats it. Use an external mouse and you fine.
Alek Dudka you pulled the bottom off and unplugged the cmos battery? And pulled the regular battery? also holding the power button down with no ac adapter plugged in? if it's a newer cf-30 than what I had i can say its possible it won't work. nut removing the cmos is usually all you need to do.

I have two cf-39's I bought at a state auction. Are you interested at $50 each?
barry k. Sorry, cf-29's x 2
Nope. Please don't offer to sell items through comments. Try other means of selling. Thanks
Works well !!! 5 minutes ago I started my book by these method. That guy can hit the God's face, I'm sure))))
I gotta stop buying them too!!! LOL :D
Hi. This trick does not work! I have a cf-30 Help Board
Let me know if it works.
Hay! I'm very glad to hear from you. Yes, exactly your way to action, this CF30 - MK3
Alek Dudka what???
This is exactly what you say, I have a Panasonic CF 30 (MK3)
Ça marche sur le Panasonic cf19 ?? Svp merci
Non.
barry k::: I have the Panasonic CF-53, And it asks for a password when I power on the laptop, with the Blue Dialog Box reading "PASSWORD".My friend says that that is the Administrative password???, then it will do the regular boot up with the start colored logo with the regular login screen, whatever with either your profile picture or whatever image one chooses.So. I really Need your Advice on the issue, please Bro.the first Dialog box just. Don't seem it need to be asking for a password. Please reply soon cuz I may trade it for a Macbook pro mid-2012, knowing that these Panasonic Toughbook are of value, in even trade right? or what?
If you can get to the cmos battery and unplug it that should clear any password that was set. But I can't garantee that would word since the laptop I used was a cf-30. As long as the wifi is turned on and you can boot off a cd when you want to and reload windows a password is fine. Can always try password if that works. But if not taking it apart is much more complicated then on the cf-30. There are videos that guide you on how to do it. Thanks
barry k::: thanks for replying back so fast...yeah well before I go and do anything to it,I will watch a few more video tutorials. And make sure I am going to do I right..Just one more question. From your opinion, do you think it's a fair trade I have a MacBook pro mid-2012.i5 2,30 or 2.60GHz 4GB Ram 500GB HDD and paid$1100 like a couple years ago.I saw on the internet the Panasonic Toughbook CF-53 going for $2500, But of course, it's a used one the one a may trade.
Sure. Take the macbook. Upgrade to an ssd and max out ram.
barry k::oh im trading the Macbook Pro for the Panasonic CF-53,i tried to give apple a shot and i just can't get the hang of it.Guess I'm just a windows die hard...Plus i have a MacBook old version which i always wanted, snow Leopard....the Macbook Pro gots Yosemite OSX.
И мне помогло.Ладно,давай забудем нашу с тобой перепалку.Мир?

Please read description. This guide is only for cf30 and it may or may not work for it.
wow !!!!! I have 2 CF-31 MK4's sitting about $1,500 worth that requires a password sucks and their i5U's .... wish this would work but no can do !!!! Expensive Paper Weights, might as well sell them as parts .. good security for those badguys that steel Toughbooks for sure they wouldn't be able to use mine hahahahaha that's for sure
Some people on eBay make programs to crack the password. I had one seller do mine.
la contraseña de la CF-31 para entrar al BIOS ES password
??? Did you read the description and watch the video? This is ONLY FOR A CF-30.
@@barrysauce yes of course I read it and saw the video which is fine, but I am COMMENTING that if someone occupies the password of the CF-31 is password
@@jorgerodriguez4239 oh ok your previous comment was in Spanish and the didn't say that after I used a translator. Yes users usually know to try the common passwords first. There are a few in the description.
I mean what you wrote didn't make sense so that is why I was asking. But in the description there are a few possible passwords but usually the people or techs working on them already know to try password or badboys.
Hey buddy thanks can you make a tutorial to configured it ... Thanks like and suscribe
Glad it worked out. Sometimes it won't work if it's a newer version of the cf30
Configure what?
Just put hard drive with windows 10 fresh install and you have working laptop its easy
Winders 10 won't run too good on those. 32bit cpu. Have to use windows 7 32bit. Runs the best.
utter bollocks
???
Hi can you also unlock the bios of the cf54. Is it the same like the CF-30?
The guide is only for a cf 30 and even then it may or may not work.
