    We have larger digital screens and digital speedometers in our 2017 Forester 2.5i Premium with the Eye Sight Package, even though it ain’t an XT or Limited 😂. That’s surprising. I came from the Forester Reddit and subbed to see your new Headlight Video!!

      Man that’s crazy. I hate inconsistency like that. Same how mine doesn’t have the assisted lift gate but a friend of mine has it on the same model... thanks for the sub! I’ll be doing the video here in the next few weeks. Keep in mind it’s a taillight video but the process is the same for the headlights!

    Appreciate the video. We have a 2017 XT and overall good car. Has the digital speedometer so must have dropped it in 2018. Weird. Our biggest pet peeve is the fro t passenger seat is uncomfortable, like sitting g on a rock, and has limited adjustment control.

  • @siugarfield7647

    Thanks for doing this, all these seem no major issues of the vehicle. For me, the biggest complaint is no a/c vent for the rear passenger. As you said for a 2018 model and the flagship SUV for Subaru; it is the most basic feature for its class. Even a 2007 BMW 3 series touring has it.

    All the missing features on your list were addressed in the newer generation Foresters except for the digital speedometer that is still not on the current-gen.
    Something I wish my '19 had though was the XT's turbo engine. Hate how they discontinued it in the newer models. Would've been willing to spend a little more on gas for more power.
    Also (I know this is more of a luxury thing) I wish they had the option of ventilated seats (offered on other models but not on the Forester) for the scorching summers here in SoCal.
    Love the chill mood on your videos.

      Yea looks like I missed the amenities by 1 year lol. BUT I definitely love having more power. In my 5 things I love video I’m working on, one of the things is definitely the turbo and boost in power!

      a lot of enthusiasts don't want to have the turbo engine with CVT, they rather have a manual version...
      imagine buying a wrx cvt, it doesnt make much sense... a lot of these other turbo suvs got awesome transmissions like DCT... CVT is not very well liked and subaru uses it for most of their cars, which alienates some buyers imho.

    • @WEEKENDWNDR3RS
      @WEEKENDWNDR3RS  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea I would be much happier without the CVT but I’m invested now and am learning when to push it, when to let it cool down and when torque is enough and when it’s not and momentum is my friend

    The digital speedometer was first seen in a car in the 1970s. I wouldn't agree it's a luxury tho, it's just one way of showing speed. IMO, a glance on an analog speedometer will tell you your speed more quickly than digits

    • @Shalom65
      @Shalom65 หลายเดือนก่อน

      You are right. But when we get older we don't see tiny numbers as fast as you, and the digital use to be easier.

      @@Shalom65 I'll be 60 in August and need glasses since I was around 12. I still think it's easier to see an "arrow" pointing. I don't need to see the actual digits on a car I know, I know what every angle of the "arrow" on an analog meter means in speed. No need to see the actual digits ...70..80...90 etc, you know where they are. We just differ in opinion, no biggie. Digital Speedos aren't more accurate, if they accurately would show speed in steps of 1 (Kph or mph) you'd just see a flickering of digits anyway.

    As the original owner of a '17 XT Touring, now nearing 100,000 miles, my complaints are mostly about electronics design (as distinct from reliability) 1) I can't keep my key in my pocket with car parked in street, "butt unlocks" and stays that way all night 2) stereo cannot be muted when in Reverse - hugely distracting when you need sudden maneuver parallel parking 3) seat position memory loses its place for height slowly (goes to max if not reset every month or so) 4) power tailgate is slow balky and unpredictable. Yes my Touring model has a digital speedo. Premium fuel is merely "recommended" not required in my owner's manual, which states that no harm will be done by 87 AKI fuel but that performance may be degraded. Scientific data on octane requirements show that high octane is most needed during hot temperatures, dry humidity, low elevations, and high performance driving conditions, so during cool wet PNW winter not going on vacation trips, I cheat with regular fuel. No adverse effects so far. My car still has essentially zero oil consumption (still near max at 5000 mile changes) and has a lifetime average fuel economy of 22.4 mpg (lots of dense urban driving, but also many very long road trips).
