    I have nothing to declutter. I already decluttered the things that didn't bring me joy or serve a purpose. Now I'm mindful about what I bring in the house. I would never get rid of my clothes or bags because I use them and enjoy them. I would never get rid of books because they bring me comfort and joy. Years later I will want to re-read books or someone else will want to read it. I have few pots/pans and dishes, and they get used.

    Great ideas Dawn. Yesterday I decluttered makeup, 6 lip glosses, 1 lipstick, 4 eye pencils, 2 foundation/highlighters, I just don't wear alot of makeup anyway so why keep this old stuff. It's only getting older every day. Get rid of worn out or uncomfortable bras,

    The stuff I left at the bus stop to give is gone!!! I'm trying to eliminate plastic. Did you know peanut butter lids fit mason jars? They are great for dry storage, leftovers, tea, water.
    I have jewelry I don't wear also. Time to gift it. I hadn't thought of that, thanks.

    Love your ideas! I have been doing decluttering off and on. One way I PREVENT an accumulation of spices, baking dry goods (flour, sugar, cocoa) etc. is to buy these items, as needed, from a store that contains bulk goods. I can buy just the right amount of spice and flour for a one-time baking and not have any ingredients left over. ---maybe you have to shop around for that type of store. I really don't bake any more so do not need bags of flour, etc.

    thanks dawn ! True story: i thought of you yesterday, i was in a car accident, luckily no one was hurt, a woman ran a stop sign and i was the target, it got really complicated when she told me her whole story but hopefully things will work out. The police, medics and firemen were all very nice. I think i have 5 or 6k damage on my car. I am going to donate more clothes today, i have shoes that sit there, i have so many uncomfortable clothes and shoes. My handbag keeps getting smaller. SPICES: i swear i only use four or five! Also---i am going to drive out there less...traffic and accidents have both been on the upswing here. Did you feel like you wanted to drive less after your accident?

    A week ago I came home from shopping and went into my kitchen. My kitchen cabinet where I keep dishes, mugs, cooking supplies, spices, etc. - had come unnailed from the wall and there was broken glass and powders all over the counter and floors.
    Its also the cabinet where my biggest cat, Stanley, sometimes likes to try to sleep. Needless to say I was in shock and still am. I managed to save a few things but lost so much. Im not even sure if I will be putting another cabinet there.
    This motivated me to ramp up my minimalizing 😂

    • @3TXSisters
      @3TXSisters ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh, no! The same thing happened to my father-in-law many years ago. There was only one screw holding the cabinet to the wall! His was used as a pantry so nothing broke but nearly scared him to death. I can imagine your horror walking into that mess. Sorry you lost so many valuable items.

    Panty hose have many uses besides wearing them. I keep them in my emergency supplies to strain dirty water, and some with the garden stuff - they can be used to gently tie up plants. The Pinterest people have many more uses for them, but those are my main two thoughts on using panty hose around the house.

    I am the keeper of the stuff for the family. I have the house with storage and my kids have more people with less space so at bigger gatherings they say, mom bring your 4 different size crock pots etc and I’m happy to do so. I used to be the gathering place but now it’s transitioned to the younger generation but I’m happy to gather up the seldom used things and participate. I have gotten rid of many toys except the sentimental keepers they would want. Oldest grandkid 27, youngest 13.

    I just went through my middle child's clothes and donated the majority of them even the handme downs from my oldest son that are still too big for my middle child. It's a battle not worth fighting, lol

    Love this video. I usually keep an eye out for anything going on in my community. For example, a rummage sale coordinator looking for donations. Or someone asking for a need and if I have the items i will donate. Another important thing that some people may forget is to declutter toxic people or situations. Not material things but sometimes a toxic person may be causing so much clutter in your mind. Don't be mean but don't allow anyone to be a negative in your life. Blood pressure lowers and you feel relief ❤ never wish them anything horrible just wish them the best...

      It's hard. My brother lives with our mother, and she's asked him what he's going to do when she passes. She doesn't own the home she's in now and has sold all her assets. His Social Security is $800 something less Medicare, which was deducted this year. He's never lived on his own and worked sporadically throughout his life. He's not diagnosed, but I'd say he's autistic. I pray daily for a solution, but nothing has been revealed yet.

    I know you’re losing weight Money Mom. So get rid of those bigger clothes ! It will help you push forward to keep on with your goals.
    I have a bag of size 10 pants and shorts going to the thrift store today. Last year I got rid of my size 12s. In a size 8 comfortably now. My goal is a size 6 and down 10 more pounds. My whole life I was a size 2/4 but I’d be very happy with being a 6. So, get rid of the bigger clothes. I know in a previous video you said you’re hanging onto them “just in case” you gain. 🤦🏼‍♀️
