I’m new to the game but why did the nova player only pay 5 for nebula dragon and the start of game 1? 4:14 I could be completely wrong. Like I said I’m new
Hello NickTCG! After watching this game, I burned out my brain with this game's logic. Can I ask you a couple of questions? Regarding several cards, in order to avoid scamming someone as I would like to play Purple properly haha 1) Deadly Balance -> Both players have one spirit, and you must pay all the cores from your spirit in order to be able to pay the cost of activating deadly balance, would you still be able to destroy your own monster which hasn't any cores (level 0) at the moment of paying the cost of Deadly Balance? or does it vanish immediatly to the trash so you cannot destroy it intentionally? (for example in case you would like to trigger Beldegor immortality in the trash if possible). 2) Grand Underworld Trio Queen Meduke -> It this spirit is at level 2 with Bloodcurse, and my opponent uses a Deadly Balance, can I select my own Meduke and immediatly save her placing one core from my opponents life and from Meduke? 3) Bloodcurse -> Can I pay the last core of a spirit with Bloodcurse, for example Boa-trictor (while being affected by a Meduke Level 3 on my field) when Boa-trictor would be destroyed, to keep this spirit refreshed and place a core from my opponents life into the thrash? 4) Grand Underworld Trio Queen Meduke -> "When one of your spirits with curse[...] place the lost life cores into the void [...]", does this mean that, if for example I have a "Dark Knight Aglovale" at level 1, which gains Curse at level 2, If I attack my opponent with it being level 1, would it send the life core to the void? Or is it considered that he hasn't "Curse" the card by the way at that moment? In case "it doesn't", is this different when applying the effect of "King Snake Quetzalcul" to recover one of your spirits from the thrash with Curse or works the same way as Meduke, taking in mind that both have the exact same text? I'm pretty confused here as both cards read the same, therefore Meduke seems so powerful if she makes that spirits with only Curse in its card text (even if they don't have the effect at the moment) work that way with her effect. I'm also wondering if you would be able to pay a core of this minions if they only have one to keep them refreshed.... But it seems legit when reading the King Snake as it has the exact same text as Meduke, taking in mind that most (all at the moment) spirits require a level to have Curse effects, meaning that, if Meduke's not working as I expect, therefore you shouldn't be able to recover any spirit with King Snake xD I'm pretty sure some of this questions may seem to be a little dumb, but I would really appreciate if you would answer them. Sorry for the quiz scenario! Thanks in advance! :)
1) If you spend the cores from a creature and it drops them to 0 it is considered self destruction so it would not trigger something like Beldegor. If you didn't kill your unit by removing cores to 0, I do believe that you would be able to get Beldegor as long as it was in a flash window (Beldegor Immortal only counts during attack step). You can play Deadly Balance without needing a spirit on your side so it wouldn't cause you any issues in case that was a worry. 2) My understanding is that you can do that. Card is quite nice! 3) Yep, you would trigger the effect, moving cores from the spirit and from opponent's life, and then the spirit would be moved to trash as it has 0 cores. Reading a little in discords about this though, if you do this and it died via BP comparison, moving it to 0 cores would mean it loses curse so that would not trigger. Possibly still worth it though to remove one of their life. 4) Level 1 Aglovale would not count as having curse. The core would be moved to the reserve. Aglovale is able to be brought back from King Snake as it is a spirit that has curse naturally, just requires a level. King Snake cannot bring back Camelot Knight though, as it gains curse from having a soul core. Little confusing. Hopefully these answers help you out. I believe I answered them all correct, but if you want to be sure I'd suggest jumping into either the BSS Tensei discord or the Bandai Organized Play discord where they have channels that you can ask official judges on the rulings! I am definitely no expert and could very well be wrong on these rulings :)
@@NickTCG Thank you very much! I appreciate that you have taken your time to answer everything! I still doubt a little bit at question 1), I was meaning about "when" exactly a spirit leaves the field. If you have a spirit, and you would like to deadly balance your spirit (because it is a cost 4 for example) and also your opponents spirit while you're being attacked, would you be able to "destroy" your spirit with deadly balance if you pay all the cores within him? or it would be considered self-destroyed and leaves the field in first place? Cuz depending on what happens, I assume you would be able to trigger or not Beldegor for example, thats what I was curious of it :) If I can pop my 0 core spirit cuz I had to pay his cores and still be able to apply a destruction effect on him before he leaves the field cuz its level 0. Do you have those Discords links somewhere? I couldn't find them myself... thanks!
I would assume that the spirit would leave the board due to being 0 cores before you could select it for Deadly Balance. A spirit cannot be on the board at 0 cores, thus you wouldn't be able to select it. I could be wrong on that so I would definitely ask in the discord. Happy to help and glad you found those discords!
Pretty sure when you summoned the 5 spirits you had game he only had 3 cores on nova and none in reserve. You just had to bloodcurse to send all of them to the void first then swing beldegor or caviler to hit him to 1 and he doesnt have enough cores to pay for AIS.
That turn definitely was a misplay. I should have put two cores on Dragonaga Assassin to give it curse and then attacked with Assassin>Boa>Meduke to send them to void like you said. I do believe I would have still been one off lethal though as he could have flipped AIS for the life return, just not able to end turn. That would have left him with one life and me having no blockers at two health though. I may be missing a play though that you are seeing for lethal!
If they all die at the same time then it is only one draw as it was one effect triggered. Weird wording on the card prevents multiple draws in that instance.
Great commentary and amazing visuals! Super entertaining thank you so much 👏keep it up :)
make sure you guys are liking the video!
at 43:53 Nebula needs the soul core AND to be lvl 2 so it wouldn't have done 2 damage
You are correct. I think the situation was pretty grim for me but definitely a misplay!

I could be completely wrong. Like I said I’m new
Good observation. Just a misplay on our part lol. He had the cores just wouldn’t have been able level to 2.

I'm pretty sure you missed 4 draws with purple smoke valley.
When you played the cursed dragon you killed 4 spirits via core removal.
If they all die at the same time then it is only one draw as it was one effect triggered. Weird wording on the card prevents multiple draws in that instance.
you can use deadly balance without having a spirit?
Yep. You just resolve as much as possible
