Just finished watching this Video. I had to keep reminding myself to breathe. So much intriguing and amazing art. The glass, the watercolors and then when you start explaining the feelings of their presence. I'm obsessed.
Jason…you looked perfectly in your element seated in front of that forest wall. I love that you talk and walk, bringing our attention to the especially unusual and unique among the pieces. You are showing us the way YOU look upon first entering the collections of a home, and it is beautiful. There are many breathtaking pieces in this home, and you can tell they were gathered mindfully from a place of love. I’m glad this family has you to oversee the dispersing of these precious things to new homes where they will be appreciated and loved by many different eyes. It is overwhelming to be in the presence of so many works of art, where shape, colour, texture, and light constantly change as you move around and past them. Each item a masterpiece that speaks to a time…and yet remains timeless. Each, in turn, draws the eye to itself and expands the heart in its own way, immersing the viewer in the aura it alone holds, telling stories that are slightly different for each viewer…then gently releasing you to heed the next siren song. True art needs to be more experienced than analysed…there will always be time to examine the techniques of its making, once you have lost yourself in the dream of the creator. To be considered eccentric is high praise Jason, it indicates one who sees more deeply than those for whom price guides the desire to own. In my own pieces, I am often asked what they mean, or what was I thinking during the process, or what it says. My answer is generally, it means different things to different people, my mind was on a journey as each piece came together, sometimes profound, at others, whimsical…sometimes a joyful almost manic outpouring from deep in my soul, and at others, a slow trickle of all my deep seated sorrows. It says what the viewer needs to hear, an expression of truth, and the healing despair can bring, if we take the time to listen. I wanted to touch and handle many of these treasures, to feel the weight and texture, see the interplay of light and colour as I turn it, and let my soul follow the footsteps of the Artist’s journey. Just as there is a part of me in everything I have made…there is a part of every piece I have added to my collections in me. It is a bond, powerful and unbroken. Im so happy for you. I know your going to be so busy and that is awesome, but Im going to miss my Jason Adams fix!!! Lol I learn so much. I have to tell you a little story. I do hair and had this client that I truly loved. I went to a little brunch she had for her 95 th birthday to her house. It was very mid century modern with a lot of art she had taught art at the college here. I knew she loved art. So, about four months ago I got accepted into a vintage mall. Very exciting for me. I realized that if I didnt go to estate sales i wasnt going to be doing myself any favors. I love it. I am having fun too as the grandkids moved to South Dakota. Lol I also have a hair salon where I have items like jewelry and things for sale. but people come to get their hair done not really shop. So, thus the vintage mall. It would give me more space to sell. Well, while looking through the estate sales near me I came across one with some beautiful art and mcm and art glass. And here is where my story becomes relevant while looking at the photos of the items I zoomed in and omg there was my client. I felt sad as I miss her. And felt a little guilty about going to the sale but my husband said that I should go because the family wanted to sell the items. So, I went, It was the last day last hour ( on the phone with my daughter) got there just in time too I got the last glass paper weight but most importantly a few of her beautiful brightly painted colorful paintings. Someone, had found them in the garage and pulled them out. I felt very lucky to have gotten them. I kept them for me lol but when you said you dont leave photos out I can see why. I almost didnt go because I felt like I was binging rude or something. But now I have some great mementoes. Anyway, good fortunes snd lots of sales your way on this beautiful sale. So much for a short story lol. ❤
Honestly, I could just pack my bags and move straight into that place and be so very happy. I was born in the 1970's and in England, our houses were a peculiar mix of antiques and 1970's decor! I don't know, it just kinda worked. This place reminds me of that ☺
