Can't say it enough, Dan, these videos are so super entertaining. Nice car too. So odd that people let these expensive things sit for a year, or that nobody was able to diagnose it properly. You should be called Sherlock Dan fixed it again hahahaha. Goed Gedaan!!

Great diagnostic's again is that module really needed to be incorporated with the starting system, it only makes cars less reliable giving any car brand a bad name for themselves
Well done! This is how a diagnosis is supposed to be done. When mechanics just start replacing components and charge the customer that is a crime. Prove the trouble then charge the customer.
Excellent video Dan, with knowledge of Ohm's and the right equipment you have solved so many problems. Look forward to seeing you again fix another car.
Always fun to watch your step by step eliminating problems, and logically working on. It also, every time, reminds me of why I drive with an eighities car myself!
Diagnose Dan and scanner Danner is my favorite. I knew it was the module once he wasn't getting control. Usually a wire wouldn't break depending on the area.
Excellent channel. - Thank you. - I’m retired street trolly tech. troubleshooting is valuable part fixing electrical problems. Not just throwing expensive parts at the vehicle and hopping for a fix. Often that will cause more trouble.
Very clear and logical down sizing of the problem. Thanks As a electronic engineer myself, I’ve noticed that if spare parts are obsolete, mainly due to often breakdown, especially in a normal lifetime of a piece of equipment, it is replaced by an upgrade, better quality part. There is also the new number coming from 😉. That could also being an indication that you’re on the right track. Thanks for taking me along… 🙏🏻
Great bit of diagnosing there Dan! I think possibly a mosfet in one of the ICUs must have gone bad so that wire would never get connected to earth. Just about impossible to fix, so you did right buying a new one.
I suspect the same, and its proberbly fixable but these modules have some known issues ( this is not one of them as far as i know) and the new partnumber should be better. And it was quite affordable
Encountered this fault several times why no one could fix it before is puzzling not a hard one to diagnose really but I have found that if you leave the relay in but leave enough of a gap to gain access to the pins of the relay then ground the control pin it resets the SAM & the engine will start again, no new part needed strange but it worked every time & didn’t have a comeback. What no one failed to notice is that you left out struggling to remove the console lid release button trim & no doubt broke the plastic catches 😂 I don’t blame you if you did their a pig to get off.
That way you you Diagnosed Step by Step , I meant 1-2-3 etc.. You are on really Expert and professional.. Excellent..I doubt the dealer can find the issue so Quickly; and if so they will be thousands of $.. to be fixed..Thx for the Upload..
Dan, it wasn't the first time you where trying to solve a problem! Among a number of fault you started with picking out two of them. Then you worked "straight forward" as usual... I have also learned some small things... I'm not a mechanic nor a DiY, but I have an X3 30d 2011. Once wenn I started the engine it ran very roughly and stopped...Then I took the fault code reader. I don't remember how many fault codes there were, but one of them suggested open EGR-valve that means stuck open. I removed the plastic cover on the top of the valve, and could see that the valve didn't move! Then I pressed it down and lifted it up, or better rolled the mechanism back and forth. Then some grease on the valve shaft, and the engine fired up and ran as a new one. Then I was quite happy of my achievement! 😄 I was quite surprised of how badly the engine was running when the engine was cold and the EGR-valve open. In the reality(!) I googled for hours, and read about the actual fault code. But, Dan, at least I have learned something about how to look at the fault codes. Sometimes it's enough, sometimes not, but unfortunately not in the way people think. A sensor is not always faulty as you may interpret many of the fault codes. When will we see you work on the first Tesla? I look forward to that even though I don't have such a car. I think it's different, but not much more difficult, and maybe not even that, as Tesla has built in diagnostic system, which no other car has. But how efficient is it? Time will tell.
Great fix, Dan! Glad you didn't lose your money! Funny thing about those crocodile clips is that over here across the pond we usually call them alligator clips! No matter. They all bite! 😀
Gonna say the statement, "It has been to 'other' shops", yeah, that's a load of horse poop. Great fix, but, super simple with the correct diagrams which you should think the "other" shops should have had. Always a pleasure Dan 👍

Top video! Misschien een condensatortje of een diode die niet meer functioneert. Opzich vrij makkelijk te testen. Ik hoop dat de overige codes interessant genoeg zijn om te filmen ik ben benieuwd door hoeveel hoepeltjes je nog moet springen. Keep up the good work! 💪🏻
He explains every detail so that any novice can understand the situation
I really like this guy, he's got that instantly trustworthy feel about him.
Great video as always Dan. Hopefully your company can make a nice profit on the car😊
Lets hope so, than we can pay the bills for al the new tools i want to buy😂😂😂
Bravo man, bravo.. I work with these cars as a mechanic at dealership and this was valuable info.
Thats great to hear
Can't say it enough, Dan, these videos are so super entertaining. Nice car too. So odd that people let these expensive things sit for a year, or that nobody was able to diagnose it properly. You should be called Sherlock Dan fixed it again hahahaha. Goed Gedaan!!
🤣🤣Thanks!
This guy is a legend! Love the way he diagnoses cars , honestly this channel is a must for anyone trying to diagnose faults on a car .
fantastic work Dan, as expected .
Thanks as always!
Looks like you are on the hook with this car ! First hurdle overcome now she starts and runs . Good luck with the rest.
Thanks I'm going to need it! 😂
Greetings from Romania !!!
Me to
Mate please open a shop in the UK , you are the best diagnostic mechanic Iv seen.
Well done on another fix 👍
Thank you very much
It's a no crank no wash
🤣🤣
My son has that model so I've told him to buy a battery to swop over. Such a cheap fix. You are excellent at what you do and so methodical. Plus plenty of test and diagnostic equipment.
You might fix it, but in the end it's still a Mercedes :P
😁👍
Always fun for a retired factory troubleshooter to watch you - I learn new things and greatly enjoy you presentations.
Thanks you must have done alot of fault finding yourself!
@@Diagnosedan True - and started with auto repair at 15 with my Father who was rebuilding an MGB. At 70+ I still enjoy learning.
Great video Dan ,looks like your going to make some Euros out of this car.... i would just like to say that it was great to see you and Steve from simply diagnostics at the NEC in birmingham the other week at Mecanika .......
Same here, enjoyed speaking to both of them…
Birmingham was great and it was fantastic to meet some of you guys😁
Great diagnostic's again is that module really needed to be incorporated with the starting system, it only makes cars less reliable giving any car brand a bad name for themselves
I dont know why they choose to do it like this but i'm sure they have their reasons
Well done! This is how a diagnosis is supposed to be done. When mechanics just start replacing components and charge the customer that is a crime. Prove the trouble then charge the customer.
I like Diagnostic Dan as he can take on difficult electric and electronic faults where as a lot of the others on You Tube only do mechnical repairs
Thanks for your comment
I can't stop watching your videos. High-quality content is provided every single time.
Wow. You made my day
Excellent video Dan, with knowledge of Ohm's and the right equipment you have solved so many problems.
Look forward to seeing you again fix another car.
Always fun to watch your step by step eliminating problems, and logically working on.
It also, every time, reminds me of why I drive with an eighities car myself!
🤣🤣👍
Hello from Northern Ireland !! 👍🇬🇧
I thoroughly enjoyed your diagnostics of that Mercedes!!
Thank you for sharing.
I eagerly await your next video 👍👍👍
Thanks! See you for the next one
Excellent ! I'm very pleased we were there to help you, I know I couldn't of done that on my own! You are a clever methodical man.
Thanks for your help😉
Diagnose Dan and scanner Danner is my favorite. I knew it was the module once he wasn't getting control. Usually a wire wouldn't break depending on the area.
Excellent channel. - Thank you. - I’m retired street trolly tech. troubleshooting is valuable part fixing electrical problems. Not just throwing expensive parts at the vehicle and hopping for a fix. Often that will cause more trouble.
Thanks for watching!
Incredible diagnosis. Thank you from Texas. I’m learning so that I can diagnose my no-start/no-crank 2005 Land Rover LR3.
Very clear and logical down sizing of the problem. Thanks
As a electronic engineer myself, I’ve noticed that if spare parts are obsolete, mainly due to often breakdown, especially in a normal lifetime of a piece of equipment, it is replaced by an upgrade, better quality part.
There is also the new number coming from 😉.
That could also being an indication that you’re on the right track.
Thanks for taking me along… 🙏🏻
My pleasure 😊😊
I rarely thumbs up or subscribe to anything but being an ex mechanic I really enjoyed your detailed diagnosis.
Top Work Dan. Subscribed 👍
As you've seen in the video i grounded the wire but no reset🤣 I had no trouble removing that button, and it didn't break, maybe i was lucky
That way you you Diagnosed Step by Step , I meant 1-2-3 etc.. You are on really Expert and professional.. Excellent..I doubt the dealer can find the issue so Quickly; and if so they will be thousands of $.. to be fixed..Thx for the Upload..
A salute to a master technician. A mechanic's mechanic!
Greetings from Africa 🇹🇬 togo Lomé I'm a car dealer in here and I'm amazed with ur work way to go man
Thanks!
I was quite surprised of how badly the engine was running when the engine was cold and the EGR-valve open.
I've done some work on Tesla but nothing interesting so far. I one comes into the shop with an interesting fault i'll film it👍
My respect to you ,you are a professional in the field ,that's why I never tire of watching your videos thank you , teacher for sharing your knowledge
Great comment. Thanks👍👍
Great work Dan. It’s amazing how other so called shops can’t diagnose these things yet charge to try doing so
Thanks for watching!
Great fix, Dan! Glad you didn't lose your money! Funny thing about those crocodile clips is that over here across the pond we usually call them alligator clips! No matter. They all bite! 😀
🤣 we call them crocodile clips, we didn't loose money but the car still needs some work done!
I honestly don't know much about cars, but it was very easy to understand your explanations and to follow through. thank you 👍
I wish I could afford the diagnosis programme.
And all his tools.
He sure has the gear, but he also sure knows how to use it.
Thanks
Gonna say the statement, "It has been to 'other' shops", yeah, that's a load of horse poop.
Great fix, but, super simple with the correct diagrams which you should think the "other" shops should have had.
Always a pleasure Dan 👍
Thanks for watching
When I get a notification from DiagnoseDan I know I'm in for a proper diagnosis video and this one continues that trend. I hear this phrase all the time in sports, "they make it look easy." That phrase perfectly describes your diags. Thanks for another great video.
Its not always easy 🤣
I know you can't always reply, but I really appreciate it when you do. Thank you.

Fantastic job Dan, no Bloopers well done my friend not only fixed the car but did a good job of it.
Thanks!
