From someone who has been married for 20 years, my best piece of advice is to remember that it is about the marriage of the 2 of you, and your love for each other...not about the "wedding" itself. I'm not saying that you shouldn't have a beautiful wedding, but a small outdoor wedding can be just as beautiful (if not more so) than a huge catered affair. It is about being together, with your closest family and friends, and what everyone will remember is the love you have for each other...not the food, or the cake, or anything else. I think you two are adorable, and I've enjoyed watching your videos. I wish you both all of the happiness in the world. :-)
Been married 20 years this year. The best advice I can give you is there is no need to spend a fortune on a big wedding unless you have the funds. It's all about committing to spending your life with your best friend and enjoying many many happy Disney holidays. We originally booked to marry in Florida but due to family health issues we had to being our wedding forward and marry here with a very small budget. Our day was still special as it was about the people with us and we have had lots of wonderful Disney trips since. Our daughters are now 13 and almost 18 and are just as obsessed about Orlando as us. We are staying at the Carribbean beach next year for the first time so have loved watching your vlogs. Have a wonderful life together. You are clearly best friends.
Can't say it better than this. DH and I had NO money when we got married, just had a simple registry service then out to dinner afterwards. 15 years later and I still wouldn't change a thing. I get to spend every day with my best friend and that's the only thing that matters in the end. PS - Loved these vlogs, you two are adorable x
Helen - We are up to 32 years and although we spent very penny we had at the time. It is one day. The rest of your life is much more important. Couldn't agree more with you xxxxxx
I've never been to Disney, and most likely never will, but the joy it gives you two is just so infectious. Thank you for sharing your happy holiday with us. I know your wedding will be as lovely as you both are. Can't wait!😘💕xx
We had a cheap but amazing wedding. I spent the most on my dress for me that was the most important. I paid like $800. Our wedding cost with the dress less than $3000. We had about 150 people. Ours was a breakfast at Tiffany wedding so white, teal, and sliver. We had one bridesmaid and one grooms man. flower girl. Just simple but very well done. By the way I love watching your videos. You too are so cute together.
For our wedding two years ago I made the seating plan based on tables named after movies using sparkly paper. it was cheap but very personal. Each table had a clapper board with the names of the film and people sitting at each table. The seating plan still hangs on our wall and brings back great memories
I'm so sad it's over!! You guys are amazing and it's great living vicariously through you! 😉 Too bad I don't live in London! I'm actually a wedding coordinator! Best advice is to determine your absolute priorities as a couple for the event, and keep that as your filter as you continue the planning process. For some, it's that the bride has the dress of her dreams. That might mean it's over that budgeted area, so something else (like stationary) has to be a cheaper version, which is fine, because that wasn't a priority anyway. As long as you keep priorities in place, you won't have regrets and you'll have better luck staying on budget!
These vlogs have been so magical to watch! I seen your recent tweet about the Disney haul and I'm sure anybody who loves Disney or you, will love the Disney haul! Thank you for vlogging amazing trip!!!
I got married last year and the advice that i can give is the only thing that really matters is the vows that you give to each other. It's so easy to get caught up in all the details and think that they matter and other people will care. They really don't. All that matters is being surrounded by people you love and who love you and it will be the best day no matter what. Practical advice though, last minute deals will get you nicer venues and packages a few months ahead of time. You don't need wedding cars as nobody sees you in it. Favours etc are nice but nobody would miss them if they weren't there. Focus on food, music and photography and everyone is happy!
Tip for wedding: buffet with variety of food options for various diets, often much more cost effective than set meals, but of course it is a preference too.
My advice on a budget wedding would be to do as much as you can yourself, rope family in if you can and don't be afraid to think outside of the box. We actually had our afternoon and evening receptions a week apart-afternoon tea on the day then an evening party a week later. This was mostly because my mum used to do wedding catering for a living and really didn't want us to pay loads of money to a hotel. It was her idea to split it so that she could sort out the buffet for the evening because she'd obviously then be free in the day. At first I thought it was a bit of a strange idea but actually we and everyone else loved it because by the time you get to evening you're honestly exhausted. I think we enjoyed it so much more and I got to wear my dress twice :-). A buffet can be cheaper but also more relaxed than a 3 course meal as well and we wanted it to be more relaxed. Also things like decorations and invites-get some craft things and do it yourself because the cost of those add up. If you have a family member/friend who is good at cake making use them-my mum made ours and that probably saved us £300. Dresses-don't feel you necessarily have to go to a bridal shop to feel like a princess, you don't. I bought my dress online from Littlewoods for around £400 and it looked pretty much the same as some I'd seen for twice the price and more. I felt so special in it and didn't feel like I'd missed out at all. There are lots of options for dresses these days. Looks at different types of venues, remember you can hire function rooms (as we did) and ask to decorate them the day before. With hotels you are paying a lot of labour costs. Lastly don't get caught up too much in the fancy extras that people think you have to have. Yes you want it to be a nice day but honestly guests won't even remember tiny details, what they'll remember is whether they had a good time and that's all that matters really. We did ours on about £5000 which is pretty low cost really compared to what some people spend but we had loads of comments from people saying it was the best wedding they'd been to in a long time because it was so personal to us with us and our family having done so much. Sorry if thatwas an essay haha but that's everything I can think of x
So happy Gabriella Lindley mentioned you both in her vlogs as I love watching your videos! You're such beautiful people. I'll be in the Sophie and Dave clan forever xxx
Love you guys! So glad you had a wonderful time in Disney! As far as planning your wedding - or anything really, just sit down the two of you and decide what's most important to you both. For some people the dress is important, for others it's the food, or the flowers, or the photos, or the venue (etc etc) - There's no right or wrong "splurge" - it comes down to what is important to you :)
I am working part time as a party planner as well as a travel planner. You can research DIY wedding centerpieces for the reception. If the place where you have your wedding doesn't allow rice to toss over the groom and bride, you can substitute it with wedding bubbles. That would be magical. If you love beauty and the beast, why not pick a Disney theme for your wedding! Here in the states we have the option to shop at the dollar tree. I've recently watched a video diy Beauty and the beast centerpiece. The rose looked like it was floating inside a tower vase and the batter operated fairy string lights was circled around it. It was beautiful. If you honey moon at Disney, be sure to let them know your celebrating your honeymoon. My Client's honeymoon was very magical!
I love DIY weddings on a budget!! I think the reason why the cost of weddings can be so huge is due to all the little bits and bobs that all just add up... so of course doing things like making your own invitations rather than buying ready made ones will make it cheaper. Also, I've been to weddings before where the guests have each been asked to bring something specific along with them to the reception, for example 10 guests were asked to bring a cheap and cheerful bunch of supermarket flowers with them to use as table centre pieces, and a different 10 guests were asked to bring paper plates/cutlery with them for a buffet style dinner, etc. So each guest was spending no more than let's say £5, but it makes it so much cheaper for you in the long run! And you could even request that they do this INSTEAD of bringing a wedding present for you, explaining that you'd just appreciate this because it would help with the cost of the wedding. Your guests would understand because they're there to support you! Of course it all depends if you'd feel comfortable doing that, and also if you'd mind having mismatching flowers, haha! Just an idea anyway - I know that a lot of people wouldn't want to do that, it's all personal preference! Eeeeeeeeeee I'm so excited!! I'm a little bit obsessed with weddings :D xxx
Hi guys Best of luck with wedding preparations. My advice and how I kept costs down was to make as much as you can i.e. Favours, invites etc. Be resourceful. Lots of stores now stock tasteful wedding table decorations. Having a one stop venue is worth thinking about and keeping numbers down ? One of the main costs is feeding people ! Maybe consider a hog roast with potatoes or an afternoon tea ? That then leaves money for Disney !! We had a Disney honeymoon, visited again in 2015 and going again in October (very excited). I love watching your blogs. Keep up the weight loss Dave you are doing great. I am on a similar path and have lost 2 stone so far and know exactly the challenge/emotion it entails x
Tips for wedding: we used eBay for a lot of decorative pieces, even invitations. We planned it all in 10 months, which I think stopped us over spending. For entertainment we used Spotify and a sound system for music as well as asking some talented friends to perform for us.
Keep the guest list as small as possible. If you are having friends, choose the ones that have been in your life the longest and if you haven't seen a friend in 3 years, don't have them invited. This is what my husband and I did and it reduced our list by around 100 people. I'm so excited to see you plan your wedding. I have loved watching your vlogs and I am very happy your families were not affected. 💜
I get the same way on the last day in Disney world, I get so sad, but yet I am anticipaing our next trip. I never say goodbye but I say instead see you real soon. I am also a mug lover I always buy a new mug on every trip . Congrats on your upcoming wedding I wish you both the very best
We had a really small wedding at a registry office and then took family to lunch. Total cost about £1000. The day is about your love, and what you want and not what everyone else thinks you should have. Xx
I've thoroughly enjoyed your Disney vlogs, thanks so much for sharing. So glad you had an amazing holiday! Can't wait to see wedding planning vlogs 😬 xx
Last days at Disney are so hard! Especially when Disney clearly doesn't want to let you go yet. In 2010 when I went with my family the volcano in Iceland erupted and after turning up at the airport we were told we couldn't get another flight for 10 days. Thank goodness we were able to keep our villa and Disney were lovely enough to give us some extra park tickets! But it didn't stop us from missing our beds :P I'm glad you guys got home well and I'm so excited for the wedding planning!!
I have absolutely loved watching all you Disney vlogs!! You two are so cute and lovely together. My fiancé and I are also massive Disney fans and are returning to Florida for our honeymoon in September! Your vlogs have really made me even more excited to go back, thank you so much and good luck with your wedding planning I'm sure it will be an absolutely perfect day for you both 😊
I just started watching your vlogs due to Disney. You two are so cute together. As far as wedding advice is concerned, don't spend a lot. That day is about the two of you and your journey. My DH and I have been married for 32 years and we had a low budget wedding. Found a big white dress at a local store, had a buffet for the food and everyone helped. Had a D.J. and a beautiful cake and family and friends. The whole thing probably cost us around 4,000. I wish you both the best! Maybe we will run into you at DisneyWorld sometime!
Noooo. This has made me sad your vlogs have been so cute. You two clearly love each other so much. I am a Disney world vlogger too although after watching yours I really need to up the standards great editing guys xx
We got my (and the others) bridesmaids dresses on Ebay for $35 each and DIY'd them for another $20 or so. Also I think it's cheaper for fake bouquet flowers, which is better in my opinion because you get to keep them forever. We did things ourselves - decorated table ornaments and napkins etc individually with ribbons and little diamante heart decos, it took hours but was worth it and everything matches even if you don't buy it as a set eg. wrap same ribbon and decos around cheap cake knife handle, we glued it on a cheap guest book etc.
I can't begin to tell you how much I've enjoyed your Disney vlogs. You two are obviously meant for each other and find so much joy together it's absolutely heartwarming to watch. I used to watch Joe and Ashley's (SeeYaReelSoon) vlogs all the time and you two remind me so much of them, both in your love for Disney and each other. I'm subscribed and look forward to more videos from you. :-)
nice dress good photographer are key photos will bring memories back for decades. Don't stress over wedding do what makes you happy not everyone else they are not getting married you are.
I'm sad that there's no more Disney vlogs :( But excited to see you both back in your home and every day life to see what other adventures you'll have 💗🌸
You guys are amazing x Glad you had a great disney trip.Wedding advice wise we had a super small budget but loved every second of our wedding day, we made and organised a lot of details ourselves and brought things over a whole yr of planning to spread the cost. Whatever you do DONT SWEAT THE SMALL STUFF and plan your day to you both as it dosent matter what others have to say what's important is you both have the day of your dreams. Think about any themes or colours etc and make a scrap book of your planning journey xx
Looks like you both had an amazing time. We were just there, April 15-20 (Caribbean Beach room 3116). As far as wedding tips, we had a lot of help from family. My now sister in law did all our flowers (fake but looked really nice) and we spent several hours at our kitchen table making all our wedding favors as well. If you have crafty friends ask them for help or ideas to turn something that doesn't cost a lot into looking like it does.
You two have such a refreshing innocence and it has been so fun watching your Disney vlogs!! Can't wait for you to return and vlog your honeymoon💕 congrats!!
Message from the Pope children (Will 12, Charlotte 8 and Daisy 6) "We absolutely LOVE your blogs, you have made us really excited as we are going to Disney World too for the first time ever in 9 weeks!" xxx
I have truly loved watching these vlogs and can't wait to follow your wedding plans up to the big day. You guys are a joy to watch. I have been married 15 years but we have been together 23 years, we didn't spend a lot on our wedding but it was a wonderful day with our loved ones. It's the rest of your lives that's important. Thank you for taking us with you on your Disney holiday, your vlogs are awesome as are you. Much love :) xx
I'm thinking Dave will win again! Sad to be coming to an end with these vlogs, had fun binge watching these today. Hope you go to Disney again soon! Xxx
Just finished your disney vlogs and i wanted to comment on every vlog but all i wanted to comment was you are the cutest you tubers i have ever watched you can tell you are madly in love with eachother. Super sweet. You both made me smile on every vlog. Beautiful couple you are.x
You two are genuinely such a lovely couple!!!! I'm sad that your Disney holiday is over, but I'm looking forward to watching you both plan your wedding!!! Wishing you every happiness in your forthcoming marriage xx
My family organised my sister's wedding for just under £6k, though I think it ended up being about £5k once all the hire deposits came back - we hired a village hall, did all the decorations ourselves - streamers to put across the roof and tissue paper flowers we made as table decorations from eBay and lots of star lamps we bought in the Xmas sale from ikea, plus my mum did all the buffet salads, with a few pies etc. from waitrose. Getting inventive and looking at Pinterest &DIY blogs are so awesome, and everyone had a really great day!
Wedding advice: you can have a great time without spending so much. We had a low-budget wedding. Friends brought food (in America we call this a potluck) my sister baked the cake, and friends played live music. My mother sewed my dress. It was a wonderful, outdoor wedding with the almond trees in blossom all around us. Magical. And I wore a crown made of fresh daisies, with ribbons down my back. I felt like a princess all the same. It's the love that matters, not the money, and you two have that.
We know how to go cheap is what my sister in law did is hire dresses and suits and had church wedding but had reception in a sports hall and had home made pie and peas and just a DJ disco and there was about 100 people there so you don't have to have flash menu in posh hotel which would cost anything up to £10 per person
I've loved all of your Disney vlogs to the max and i can't begin to explain how much they have made me smile & cry (in a happy way!!) Both of you are so happy and are always smiling, i love it! Congratulations on the engagement and i hope you are so happy together, you are both such amazing people (from what I've seen :) x Disney is such a special place in my heart and watching your vlogs makes me so happy and makes me very emotional!! thank you for these videos, i wouldn't be able to get through exams without this!! THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU xx
Thank you for sharing your Disney adventure with us! They really make me happy and I always am looking forward to your vlogs! It is so sweet how positive and happy you are. Sending love to you and all the Manchester victims! xx, Theresa
Congratulations. Enjoyed your videos. Take it from someone that's been married coming up on 30 years. We spent to much on the wedding and not enough on the honeymoon. If we had to do it over again. It would be the other way around. Some of the young people are doing small church weddings and asking attendees to bring their favorite side dish to the reception with a recipe card. That way you get a great memory from family and friends and have your reception food without cost. Love and prayers for U.K. Right now for families in Manchester.
omg I can't believe you guys missed your magical express! tense! so glad you got there ok. your vlogs have been awesome thanks so much for sharing 😊 xx
We got married 5 years ago, and we spent less than $3000 for everything. I did pretty much everything myself - bouquets, decor, cooking, cake, etc! I did not make my dress, but it cost about $150. We had our wedding at 11 am, and did brunch, which was much less expensive, and a bit different.
Thank you guys so much for all your videos and sharing your trip with us! It's been amazing! What and odysey to come back, but thankfully everything went nice. So sad about Manchester, like my adopted city.. tons of hugs guys and hey, let's starting the wedding plan!!!!
Thank you so much for sharing such a magical experience you guys! You two are just the sweetest couple and I literally cannot wait for you guys to get married! The mutual respect and love you have for each other is beautiful ❤️ I have recently introduced my boyfriend to your channel and he too is enjoying the Vlogs...soo much so that he agreed to us booking Disney for next year! So thank you 😊
+Emma Moran thank YOU for watching! This is the SWEETEST comment and has put a MASSIVE smile on my face! It's always so nice to know that how much we love each other comes across on camera! (HOPEFULLY though without leaving anyone feeling nauseous! Haha!) ALSO, I always take it as a personal victory when I hear that boyfriends/husbands/men in general enjoy the channel! ☺ so thank your boyfriend too please! 😁also BONUS!!! I can't wait for you guys to experience Disney together! It's just the best! Thank you again and happy planning for your trip! ❤❤
A couple of days ago I typed in Disney world vlogs and obviously your guys' video popped up. I have absolutely loveeed watching your Disney vlogs!!! You two seem like the nicest people! Love your channel!!! X
I just found your channel this morning when I was looking for Disney world vlogs. We are booked to go for the first time with our daughter (who will be 6) in October 2018. We can't wait!!!! You look like you had a fab time. You are such a lovely couple xx
You two are the cutest couple. I've only just started watching you in the past week so I've binge watched all the Disney vlogs. We are going in September and cannot wait. We went last year and it was the best thing I've ever done. Cannot wait to watch all your new vlogs 🤗
Just found your vlogs and been watching them over the last couple of days. Thanks for sharing your holiday and good luck in planning your wedding. You did ask about other disney vloggers- have you watched seeyareelsoon, they have stopped vlogging now as they had a baby but great to go back and watch old videos.
A lot of places if u marry midweek are almost half the price so I'm told. We got married in registry office, we planned just going for a meal afterwards but my mum decided to book a hall (didn't cost much), wedding cake made by friend of a friend if I'm honest it all cost around £500 (also planned in just 6wks) we just enjoyed our day & got to celebrate our anniversary in Disney last October
We love you two and relate to you so much. We live everyday loving each other and were so grateful to be able to work hard so we can go to Disneyworld, Disneyland and other spontaneous adventures! We've enjoyed every video and look forward to many more. We will be in wdw in October and plan on vlogging as well, good luck on your wedding plans xo
Loved all the vlogs. Wedding planning advice: Prioritise what is important to you such as for me and my parter it was venue, food, music and photographer and flowers. Invites we got from eBay we are not getting any wedding cars, videographer, photo booth etc. You can sometimes feel like you need all these things cause of other influences but you really don't it's about two people making vows and if you want to eat a fancy cake afterwards then that's great too. 💕
Hello first what great vlogs on Disney I have loved all of them. 2nd I got engaged 2weeks ago and will be set to get married next year on a budget wedding. I'm looking around for old barns were you can do them up yourself an order caterers, pintrest is my best friend right now beautiful cheap d.i.y things you can do to decorate. maybe an open space if you know someone with a huge garden and you can get a marquee they are cheaper but still can be done up to look expensive. also my theme is rustic/Boho so nothing looks new, more old so mismatch my deco and flowers are going to be wild. All best in this journey you and Dave are going to take now it's so exciting!.x
I love you too you are so happy together its wonderful to watch .. Good luck with the wedding plans Sophie you are a lucky lady as Dave is the kindest man .. Loved following your holiday MYFAVE utubers you are great xxx

remember it's your day! don't allow family to take over! have a great time planning ur day! best advice I can give is after the ceremony take ur self's off somewhere just the two of you and spend half hour while the guests arrive at your do as it's the only chance as a married couple until it's all over as u will be busy mingling! we got a car to take us for some private photos with the photographer to a local ruin! and fly next morning straight to ur honeymoon let the family clear up!, xx
Love watching you both...I got married at Gretna green at Anvil hall and they have packages really intermate and private look it up it is an old church so you have an isle...really good prices...good luck x

Thank you for making me and my mum smile. Your Disney vlogs make me want to go back, I think we are looking into Paris for a few days. X

Hi guys
Best of luck with wedding preparations.
Will you guys be filming a haul, would love to see all your mugs and any other goodies? Also very excited to see some wedding plans coming together :)
I have absolutely loved watching all you Disney vlogs!! You two are so cute and lovely together. My fiancé and I are also massive Disney fans and are returning to Florida for our honeymoon in September! Your vlogs have really made me even more excited to go back, thank you so much and good luck with your wedding planning I'm sure it will be an absolutely perfect day for you both 😊
Just discovered your vlogs, great videos, need to binge watch them now :)
Make your own bouquets. I made mine with paper and book pages.
These vlogs are my absolute favorites. You guys are my absolute favorites 😭
Pinterest is great for ideas on looking for unique wedding crafts etc
Looks like you both had an amazing time. We were just there, April 15-20 (Caribbean Beach room 3116). As far as wedding tips, we had a lot of help from family. My now sister in law did all our flowers (fake but looked really nice) and we spent several hours at our kitchen table making all our wedding favors as well. If you have crafty friends ask them for help or ideas to turn something that doesn't cost a lot into looking like it does.
Sophie- I just saw a hen party wearing sashes with Disney style writing! Made me think of you! So excited for wedding related vlogs.
I have loved watching your trip and can't wait to see your honeymoon vlog.
Xxx
So grateful you guys shared part of your trip with us! x

These are my favourite Disney Vlogs, I'm so sad that they're over but you guys make me so happy!
Also Sophie will you be making videos on wedding planning or any DIY bits that you do? :)
It's so sad having to leave but soooo nice to go back to your own bed! I hope you both had the best time you really deserved it!😘💕
I've been loving your Disney vlogs and can't wait for wedding vlogs, a lot of people I know used Pinterest for DIY and budget wedding ideas 😊
I would do a small wedding. Lot DIY and Pinterest. But spend more on the honeymoon like to Disney
I loved all of the disney videos! I am sad you had to leave but it looked like a lovely trip! thanks for bringing us along
Loved all your Disney vlogs 👍 what a lovely couple you are. Good luck with your wedding plans ❤️ hope to see you in Disney one day!
I have LOVED these vlogs so so much! Glad you had an amazing time guys! 💕
omg I can't believe you guys missed your magical express! tense! so glad you got there ok. your vlogs have been awesome thanks so much for sharing 😊 xx
Your such a lovely, down to earth couple. 💕

We got married in registry office, we planned just going for a meal afterwards but my mum decided to book a hall (didn't cost much), wedding cake made by friend of a friend if I'm honest it all cost around £500 (also planned in just 6wks) we just enjoyed our day & got to celebrate our anniversary in Disney last October
have really enjoyed your disney vlogs. look forward to your next chapter in life. good luck with everything. you & dave are great couple
Omg!Wedding planning next!💕

Have been watching all your Florida vlogs (going in Sep so majorly craving Disney now!!) I really have enjoyed every moment of them. Loved everything from your recommendations and even the ride action shots! Such a lovely genuine couple! I'm subscribed for good now ❤️ thank you guysss !! X
remember it's your day! don't allow family to take over! have a great time planning ur day! best advice I can give is after the ceremony take ur self's off somewhere just the two of you and spend half hour while the guests arrive at your do as it's the only chance as a married couple until it's all over as u will be busy mingling! we got a car to take us for some private photos with the photographer to a local ruin! and fly next morning straight to ur honeymoon let the family clear up!, xx
Going to miss the Disney vlogs so much Xx 💜 looking forward to the wedding vlogs
