    I've lived in Huddersfield for years. Yes the town center has gone down hill. Which town hasnt? Retail for most towns is dead, having being killed off by online shopping. If you like coffee shops this is the place. There are lots of them. Also the people are typical northerners. They dont suffer fools gladly but are always there to help if need be. The condition of the roads leaves alot to be desired however 15 minutes outside the town center you are surrounded by the most beautiful countryside of anywhere in the country.

    • @markdoherty8161
      @markdoherty8161 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@seantuaima don't agree. Great city. Has its problems but so does the other big UK cities. I've been to Birmingham and didn't like it. Been to Manchester on a few occasions and found the people really rude and the city very dirty not to mention a lot of crime. Very overatted city IMHO.

    • @seantuaima
      @seantuaima ปีที่แล้ว

      @@markdoherty8161 I lived there for a few years and I found it so boring I did lots of different things to keep me busy, the people there are so fixated on living there they do not like people that have a more defined taste or individuality.
      Most people in Liverpool think very much in similar ways and they tend to be very opinionated about comparing boring Liverpool to everywhere else in the UK.
      There is no real character about the place apart mainly from the city centre which is mainly more excited for the weekend.
      Most of the areas in Liverpool are very deprived and soulless trust me, it's very overrated and depressing to live there!

    • @markdoherty8161
      @markdoherty8161 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@seantuaima I think you could say that about all the other major cities in the UK. Yes it has its deprived areas but so does Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds etc. Even London has its deprived areas. Liverpool has suffered from lack of investment which the government is mainly to blame. Scousers are the friendliest people I've met in the UK. It has its problems no doubt but I think people always magnify Liverpool's problems much more than other places. Look at Manchester and Salford just up the road from Liverpool? The two cities have had billions of pounds pumped into them and they are dumps. Really grim and depressing places and the people are not very nice there. Just because a lot of big developments have been built there they're still boring cities. I spent a week in Birmingham, the second city, and my God what a depressing place. Have heard really bad stories of places like Leeds, Bradford Sheffield etc but no one highlights these other cities as much as they do with Liverpool. I know many people who have studied in Liverpool and people who regularly visit Liverpool and they all loved the city.

      @@AbsolutelyAshika not really. A lot of people on the 24 are students so it's probably much quieter after the Luton Sixth Form stop. If the bus breaks down, it's probably best to just weigh up your options and either wait for the next one or just hope you're close enough to walk it.

    Sorry, I stumbled across your video and was very surprised to see Liverpool on the list. I don't live there but have been visiting the city for over 30 years and can say that its one of the best and safest cities in the UK. Wondering why you don't have Manchester on your list as its crime rate is much higher than Liverpool's. Liverpool is without doubt one of the best cities in the UK. Liverpool has its problems but its always highlighted much more than other cities. Just wondering why you reference Manchester also when talking about Liverpool and Huddersfield in terms of distance? Why is Manchester so important?

    I kinda don’t agree with Huddersfield being unsafe. As to the other cities and towns. Yes watch out. I have lived in most of them and Huddersfield too, I’d say by far that is the most beautiful and calmest town beside the odd teenagers fights. It’s just like any other town of city which has abit of crime in it and not to a major level, so visit Huddersfield. You won’t be disappointed esp on it’s scenery. Also the worst rated town/city in the UK is Cleveland, with more crimes than London at the moment, so stay clear!

A city with huge potential and needs a lot more investment and a better, forward thinking local council to match its true potential but still a great city with very friendly people.
