I'm an experienced hp soapmaking and definitely prefer it. ultimate guide to hp is a great resource. The speed of the cook depends on oils, temp, and amount of stirring. Get ti know the stages and additives that will give you more fluidity and you can do a lot of things with it! Welcome to the club loved your video, BTW.
It seems fairly straightforward to make home-made soap! Maybe I'll give that a shot one day soon. Thank you for showing all of me how to make hot process soap!!
Your hot process soap looks great! I love your videos. Very relaxing and informative. Love how you calmly handled the volcano! The soap came out beautiful!
Oh thank you I’ll keep that in mind next time. All that oatmeal I put on top only 3 oats stayed put ( well maybe more than 3 but still) thanks again 🤣🤣❤️
Beautiful soap! I love HP soap but it's been so long since I've done one. I've seen others mentioned yogurt and other after cook additives. The book ultimate guide to HP has some great info about after cook additives like yogurt, sodium lactate, butters, and even cetyl alcohol!! It's a great book! I absolutely recommend. Great job on your first HP soap ❤
👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽yasss sis…I only do hot process…I have never attempted cold processed 😮…I don’t stir mine until I see the glycerin and it folds over itself…I also put saran wrap over it….the volcano happens when your lye mix and oils are both hot (in my experience)🤷🏽♀️
You can add a superfat at the end and also yogurt.I believe have seen others add sodium lactate to make it more fluid. You did a geat job for your first time.
I love hot process over cold aswell...blessings. yes the bubbles should be there..if you dont stir it will volcano..when it glistens like vaseline its done...
Thank you..i also like that you dont have to wait 4-6 wks to cure..you can also add more butters at the end it makes it softer but so nice on your skin..i make 90% hot process...i switched too once i tried it..
Thank you for this video. Very thorough explanation and you encouraged me to go ahead and follow through with making my first batch. I am curious to know though where do you recommend getting the oils and what lye do you use? 😃
Thank you very much and I’m glad you enjoyed the video 🩷. I get my oils from my local grocery store, my butters from websites like bramble berry, and my lye from either bramble berry or Amazon if I need it soon.
I love hot process and is how I started, but the moved into cold process. For my shaving soap is always HP. I add yogurt after Vaseline stage and any other additives. IMO is the best to keep Eo’s benefits and fragrance.
where can I get a soap cutter like the one you are using here? loved the video..also saw another 'video' and it says not to scrape the dry soap off the sides because it will of course stay hard and you will be able to see it in finished soap...she suggested KEEPING it off the sides and not opening the lid for 30 mins so the water will not evaporate (keeping the soap more moist) as to not dry it out. just fyi...Im learning myself...thinking about switching to hot process method myself...im on the fence but I guess we can always do both! thanks
Hello thanks for the advice🩷. If I’m not mistaken the cutter is linked in the description ( let me check to be sure). I’ve since made a lot of hot process soaps on and off camera and have come to love the look I get from scraping the sides lol. I think it adds to the rustic look which is what eventually won me over lol. I’m not sure how long the other person cooked their hp soap for but mine is done in like 30mins( I cook on high) so I personally have to check within that 30min timeframe. I’m still in the learning stages (experimenting) and just trying to figure out what works best for me.
Great video, i really want to try this, I have all the ingredients. I will make the lye solution outside. Im scared, but how long should I cook the soap
Thank you very much 🩷. Don’t be scared just take your time and pay close attention to what you’re doing. It took me about 30 mins or so to cook the soap. You got this!
Just type in 40oz in the soap calc. I used 34oz oil total 49oz batch to fill the mold used in the video. Are you looking for 40oz just oils or 40 total?

Thank you very much 💕. I try to stay calm when mishaps arise so that way I can think clearly when trying to solve the issue lol.
I like how your soap turned out! Even though it’s a bit time consuming, I really enjoy making hot process soap!
Thank you 😊
I love your videos! You are sooo calm, cool, and collected! Your nerves of steel are goals!

You can spritz water onto the soap mildly which will allow you to stick your oats ❤

What does the cling wrap do? Cold process is definitely a process lol. Nothing like hot process.
@@3baashandmadesoaps937 the cling wrap keeps all the moisture in…the crockpot lid can let moisture escape

Okay thanks I’ll check them out.
Looking forward to giving this a go. I hear it retains the scent better than my usual CP so going to jump in.
Give it a try. I love it.

I’ve heard that about the cure time. It’s more like 2-3 weeks correct?
@@3baashandmadesoaps937 yes it is..just for water to evaporate..sometimes my kids and i cant wait and we use it right away..as soon as its cut lol..
🤣🤣 it be like that sometimes lol That reminds me of my husband. I be like wait that’s not….. Nevermind 🤣🤣🤣.

Nice… thank you 💕
I've just fallen in love with hot process soap too. I love it and I love the process too.
Yessss it’s definitely some that I could see myself doing more.
What an awesome soap!❤
Thank you very much 💕
Very informative video ❤

Which do you prefer hot or cold👀?
@@3baashandmadesoaps937 that’s hard ? lol I enjoy both maybe I would have to say hot process . Cold can be tricky sometimes

I prefer hot also lol. In my opinion it’s much easier than cold.
Definitely.
If you Want to stick oatmeal or anything on HP soap, just spray a little water on the soap before sprinkling it. Alcohol does work too
Okay thank you. I’ll be sure to try that next time🩷.

You’re welcome.
Hi, what is the waiting time for use?
Hey some say 2-3 weeks some say 3-4
I am a no-drama-mama-hot process soap maker. My soap is cooked on low. It takes longer. There are no volcanoes.
Cooking soap on what temp?
I cook on high
How soon can you use the hot process soap
3-4 weeks
What is the curing time of these hot process soap?
2-3 weeks is what I’ve heard.
How can I size it up to 40oz oils?
Just type in 40oz in the soap calc. I used 34oz oil total 49oz batch to fill the mold used in the video. Are you looking for 40oz just oils or 40 total?
I’ve only used my crockpot to rebatch.
Try hot process I noticed it’s a lot easier than cold.
@@3baashandmadesoaps937 it requires more focus than I can provide. I would end up with a huge mess in my kitchen and I have pets.
Oh okay gotcha.
I’m so heartbroken.😢 I am not a hot process soap maker, but I’m glad you like it.
Nooo don’t be heartbroken lol. It was easier in my opinion.
@@3baashandmadesoaps937 I’m not gonna watch a crockpot, Sis.😩 I love my cold process soap.🥺
🤣🤣🤣. It wasn’t as bad as I thought it was going to be. Definitely not as time consuming as liquid soap making that’s for sure .
@@dianehedricks7860I’m the same way. I would end up with a huge mess, because I would forget about it.
It's another skill you can learn, it's actually easier ❤
