Hope y'all enjoy this different style of vid!!! Also sorry if it's a day late. Inspired by the style of @aGameScout , and @alexthach276 as a big inspiration to start playing.
Great job with this video! It’s really cool to see new people getting into Tetris. This will be a great time capsule of your early progress to look back on if one day you become a top player!
I’ve been watching Scout, xcx, hydrant dude, and others for a couple years now. Your video however is the one that is making me get my old nes from my mom’s house and start playing Tetris. Gonna be a great 3 day weekend. Thanks!!! :)
look out Alex T! joking aside it is pretty nice to see new players getting into this game, learning how to actually play the game for the first time. it's an experience that can't quite be replicated
6:10 I love how i can alrdy tell by how youre playin and where youre droppin pieces that youve progressed so far. Its clear by now youre tryin to think further ahead than not even just the current piece, but past the next box piece as well; plannin for how to have the best placed board you can for the next piece In the prior days streams, even after gettin the controller; it felt clear you were focused just on either only the piece you had, or the next piece... Which makes sense, youre mind and fingers needs to get used to it so that you can put more of your focus into plannin further ahead; but thats what gets ya in Tetris more than the speed does initially... The inability to at the start plan further ahead, which in time becomes almost second nature for your brain to figure out in the background as youre muscles are focused at movin at the incredible speeds theyll need to move But its clear here how quickly that second nature starts to get the groundwork laid, as it took only a few days to go from bein unable to do it; to clearly thinkin at least a piece or two ahead of what you can see on the board The earlier game speed ramp up becomes much less a threat when your brain is able to think so far ahead, bcuz you can more easily know how to manage to keep a board state that is easily gonna accommodate the pieces, and you can easily figure out how to fix a bad board state; as long as you can move your fingers prty decently fast... Which most folk whove gamed before can do, or just lengthy typists like myself xD
The feeling of digging out of a high stack and surviving for the first times has to be one of the best feelings ever. Trust the process you are doing great!
It seems that you're getting a lot of joy from your own progress rather than by comparing yourself to the greats non-stop. That's great, because that is how you build a mindset that ensures success and happiness.
absolutely loved watching this. I will definitely be following your content. Like you I'm also trying to get good at tetris but unfortunately I don't have any of the set up or a controller so I've just been playing modern and hoping I can play classic later
I love the Tetris scene and have been following it ever since Joseph won against Jonas. I was always bad in this game, when I start playing from Level 0 I don't even get to level 7. So I'm only watching the Pros. Maybe I should give it another try. (:
Very similar to how I got into Tetris 2 years ago. I got hooked with Scout's video on Cheez's comeback against Huff on the kill screen. Here I am now as far as level 25 with a PB of 669k. Never feel like you're so far behind those top players. Enjoy every stage of your Tetris life 👍
@@westongaming7083videos of Jonas doing Tetris 101 streams and the video where he explains Tetris to Brian scallon will help you a lot. The videos teach spins and stacking instincts and thought processes. You can probably get over 100k after those videos starting on level 6 or 7. I hit 140k relatively quickly (I had played a tiny bit over the years), but after that the real work kicked in for me. Each next PB and especially 100k mark feels amazing.
@westongaming7083 it was because of the website and because I thought if some complete noob could get to level 10, maybe one day I could. And I ofcourse switched to tetris gym after
This kinda reminds me of how I started grinding Tetris the Grand Master. I used to be pretty bad at it, but I can get to level 400 and on the second game, up to 600. Dedication is the name of the game. Keep it up and keep getting those high scores!
good video, fun to see you progress! I've been feeling burnt out of this game for a while and this helped me remember a bit why i started playing in the first place
I had the same exact start, I saw the Alex T video, rewatched it a couple times over a week, then decided to download an emulator and play Tetris. Hopefully I reach level 15 soon too, wish me luck!
ggs man, hoping to see you get world class one day! Hoping to see you improve! You have lots of potential if you keep practicing this is coming from a noob-decent player, my pb is 107 (but level 12 start) and 324k.
Hey! We litterally have the EXACT same storyline! I got into tetris because of the same gamescout video, watched it several times because i LOVED it so much, and then i started watching his streams! Around 1 month later i have my own NES but i am still short of a tetris cartridge.
I remember exactly where I was when I played Tetris for the first time, but I have no idea how well I did or if I even really understood the game. It’s cool to see a little window of the experience of a brand new Tetris player… its fun to be invested in your personal achievements (level 10) when the community is so focused on things like game crash, 810, and rebirth.
Very good to see someone new excited to play! If I can give you one tip, try to get used to spinning both ways as soon as possible, before you get used to it too much! Keep up the good work!
Level 9 seems to have das = the drop rate. Try a bunch of b-type on level 9 and you will commonly get piece movements that shift the same time it drops a slot, making frame perfect moves if it cuts it close
As a das player that joined a few months ago, I can see the struggle of 19 and getting to 15. I got to 14 and had a pb of 154k.couldn’t beat it for a while, but then. I GOT 199,827 ON A 9 START!!! It ended on 13, and it was awesome. and I also got 2 B-type lvl 19 24 lines. KEEP GOING! Update: I beat 19-0 and am trying 18-3
@@westongaming7083 maybe try finding a fake nes. I have one and there’s a TON OF GAMES. No cartridges. Also it’s much easier to play with cuz u have a controller and u don’t need to buy anything.
5:20 You actually gained more subs than you thowt, or ya just misclicked 4 here instd of 5; you gained a full half a hundred subs from one stream, which is quite a huge leap for an under 100 sub channel
I loved the video! But I dont get how you played tetris without a controller, NES, or game card. I mean ik the NES and game card but how do you play tetris without a controller?
great! i just started getting interested in nes tetris and im in a similar place in skill. Also i tried playing level 19 for a while and the best i could get was 3 lines cleared.

Wow it's really aGameScout
Can't wait to see you go from where you are now to being a contender in the CTWC. I'm rootin' for ya Weston!
Thanks for believing in me! I’ll try to keep improving so I can eventually get there
The one thing i love about this video is how you got inspired by lots of people in the tetris community. I respect that

Happy this made you play Tetris again! Great game that should be enjoyed by everyone
Hey y’all!! Sorry for the random cut before day 7. I made an editing mistake
Great stuff, genuinely watched the entire video at the edge of my seat.
No way lol! Glad you enjoyed it though!
