Am I the only one that misses performances like this in award shows? 🥲 No group can own medleys like Mamamoo and their covers of other group's songs are always bangers. Nothing wrong with the current girl group scene, but there's just a sense of artificiality and "forced" prettiness that's hard to genuinely appreciate. This era reminds me of the time when being yourself and having fun was still the key ingredient in Kpop. So glad Mamamoo are their same authentic selves till today and still giving us these amazing moments in their world tours/concerts, etc.

But the toxic beauty standards of kpop that says they want pale, skinny female idols sometimes gets them a lot of criticism. They are beautiful women and really powerful. They have a huge female fanbase despite being a GG. MAMAMOO is very famous in South Korea. In 2018, their title track of two mini albums, “Starry Night” and “Egotistic” have swept music charts in Korea and achieved #1 in many music shows. Their fanchants are thunderous and their fandom mostly consists of female fans which are great in long-term. They have received more than 10 awards for 2018 in many big awards-giving ceremonies such as MAMA, GDA, and MMA, mostly recognition of their vocal abilities.Especially as a girl group. on the other hand have had a very mature image since their debut and people cant handle powerful woman. They are definitely in the top 5 biggest girl groups currently in South Korea*

They are the best female groups/idols out in Korea right now. These is no other girl group quite like them. They are very confident and strong on stage and absolute goof balls when not on stage. Honestly, Mamamoo's existence was the one that kept me from being a kpop fan after 2ne1's disbandment. They're not a generic girl group, they sing and PERFORM just like my girls 😌
Although I wasn't a fan during 2nd gen however, looking at their preformances they do have a similar vibe! I'm not sure if you listen to 4th gen but if you do I suggest (G)I-DLE they have strong stage presence and unique concepts! Of course, that's only if you want to no pressure! :) 💕

I've been into kpop since 2008 and this is the first time i like all members of a girl group, EQUALLY. what i really like about mamamoo is everyone can sing, can rap, can dance, they're all pretty and their music is high quality and different than other gg, good at variety shows, they all have their own charms they're just a perfect package.
