@@02TMM I agree with everything you said. Plus, Grace is balling out in Turkey right now. She will return to Fever in shape with her basketball skills sharp.
@@JE-IC everything in this video and everything I remember from the season , defense is the only thing I don’t remember.. but if she’s getting a lot of minutes, obviously she’s playing decent defense
Berger made all rookie team then was buried on the bench. Celeste Taylor was buried then cut. Sides was unbelievably incompetent as a coach. She played Wallace over these players and Wallace could not even start on the Australian Olympic team.
Sides also should have given Victaria Saxton and Celeste Taylor more playing time, all that mismanagement of bench players cost the team in the playoffs.
The decision to not play Berger was not based on bb because Wheeler dribbles in circles, dribbles the air out of the ball. Seems former HC Sides was playing favorites, also giving minutes to non productive Wallace and Samuelsson.
Grace was my 6th pick for Indiana to protect. Offensively, she looked like she lost confidence but she is a tenacious defender and they definitely need some of that.
During their college years, she gave Caitlin and the Hawkeyes fits. Probably even more than Hailey Van Lith, then at LSU, who was once the most recruited high school guard in the country. Grace was also a state golf champion in high school. (A fact that shocked Caitlin.)
Excellent video of Grace Berger. I didn't know anything about her, and like you, I couldn't remember any games she played in this year. After viewing your montage, it's a travesty that she wasn't played more. Anyone with eyes can see that she is an extremely talented and balanced player. The potential is there for her to be a key player for the Fever. Well done Adrienne.
Even Dantas was getting shortchanged with Sides. It was all about Samuelson and Wheeler. They were drawing almost all the reserve minutes early. Saxon still got very close to no minutes on the year.
When Christie Sides was at Atlanta Dream, she was close personal friends with Erica Wheeler and Kristi Wallace. When she came to Fever, she persuaded Lin Dunn to bring them too. Both Wheeler and Wallace were starters at the beginning of the season and got a lot of minutes before the Olympic break even though both were mediocre. But they were Sides' little friends, and therefore got to play. Grace could be backup for both Caitlin and Kelsey.
@@joeyojoeyo3613 Wallace was a starter during the first 10 games of the season when Fever was on its losing streak. Sides praised her skill as a defender, but aside from that her stats were pretty mediocre. Either Lexie Hull or Celeste Taylor world have done better. Sides didn't pull her from the lineup until shortly before the Olympic break, and I suspect that was mostly to let Wallace return to Australia to prepare for the Olympics since she was on the Australian Olympic team (but ended up playing very little).
You know who else Sides overlooked for the majority of the season? Lexie Hull. Lexie played in 34 of the 40 games. She was not injured and eligible to play all 40 games, so she logged 6 DNPs. I think Grace Berger has a ton of potential. It'll be real interesting to see how she does this year. Hopefully she gets a real chance this year.
Sides was so awful. If Katie Lou didn’t take herself out due to not feeling well at the end, Sides wouldn’t have started Lexie Hull. Lexie really proved herself, but it was no thanks to Sides. I am so glad she is gone!
I'd love to see Grace Berger be given the opportunity to be the asset she clearly is capable of being. Great handle on the ball. Good vision to assist. Yep, it's a shame they traded Taylor. With the right coaching, she could have developed into a good contributor, especially on defense where we needed her.

Absolutely. I never could figure this out. The Fever used a first round pick on Grace and then just let her sit last year. Stephanie knows better. She saw Grace play at IU far too often. Expect to see MUCH more of Grace this year.
I enjoyed watching her play in college. Great player. I am not sure how early in the season it was when she and CC had a fabulous game playing together on the floor. It was a wow game. I was happy to see her in the next game, but I don't believe she was in very long when she had a turnover, and she was pulled. After that it was VERY FEW minutes we saw her the rest of the season. I hope Coach White gives her chance.
I’ll never forget that last game of the season, against the Mystics, I believe. Berger and Saxton both showed up and balled out. They both have skills and should get minutes. Neither of them are starters, but they are skilled players and have even higher ceilings than what we’ve seen, with good coaching.
Was that the game when Sides put all the bench players in and they actually did better than the starters? That was a real eye opener. It certainly highlighted just how bad a coach Christie Sides was, as if anyone needed additional confirmation.
Grace is solid - there is no reason she shouldn't be getting minutes. I have always thought that she was protected in the expansion draft, so hopefully there is a plan to use her this year.

We're about to see what everybody can do for this Indiana team. Stephanie white knows how to lead a team and knows how to make the most of her talent. Caitlin is about to have some assistance around her. They're truly going to be a team this year. Bring it on.
👏👏👏 Thank you for highlighting Grace Berger, a 6’ point guard that was treated very poorly by Christie Sides. I feel she should have got Wheeler and Wallace’s minutes when CC and KM were resting. Check her college game out against Iowa and CC, brilliant. I am sure Coach White realises the potential Grace has and protected her from the expansion draft with the back up 1&2 spot in mind. I hope to see Grace along with Victaria Saxton get some good game time instead of the few junk minutes Sides would give them.
GB is a keeper for sure. Rotating GB and CC would be a great strategic option. Oh don’t forget about the other center who will give AB a break. Don’t know much about Wallace yet. Love the way you cover the Fever team too!! 🏀🏀🏀😀
Grace is entirely capable of being the backup for Caitlin as well as for Kelsey. On most teams, Grace could be a starter. She works well with others, and like Caitlin, she empowers the contributions of her teammates. Her overall attitude and ability to support the culture and cohesion of her team calls to mind her name: Grace. Also, she has a top-shelf mid-range game that would complement the game of Caitlin and Kelsey. Lastly, her passing is strong. Her presence, for whatever minutes she gets, will mean more assists distributed for the Fever.
@@ckellysmith I agree. When Caitlin suffered the eye poke in the playoffs, it would have been nice to have Grace be fully developed from playing in every game all season to come off the bench, allowing Caitlin to sit for a few minutes and gather herself. Caitlin played poorly in that game after the eye poke, but there was no one suitable to sub in for her. Shame on Crusty Sides for failing to develop the bench.
I hear lots of ppl making videos saying the Fever need a backup pg. They have one! Grace is a decent defender, good ball handler and can create her own shot. She can also give KM a few minutes of rest. She could easily play 10-15 minutes per game.
Young lady you are a class act and you were on point consistently! I enjoy your content immensely. Thank you for the research that you put in and the truth that you always put forward❤❤❤!
As always, you have great insights, Miss Ross… Love your podcast! Oh, and there is one thing I’ve been wanting to say about Nike and Caitlin Clark. Where are the stockholders
So hard to believe Sides missed something! NOT! Thanks for this report. Good briefing on what Grace brings to the party. I have great faith that Coach Steph is looking at every angle she can identify, and this is an easy one. No drama, no hyperbole, she's already there.
So glad you did this video. Some/a lot of us have been cheering for Grace. The current roster is thin on guards. If Caitlin or Kelsey goes down, that leaves Grace and Erica. Both can play the point but give Grace some minutes and encouragement and she may shine. And Grace may be a better defender than Erica and certainly better than Caitlin. Plus Grace is a great presence on the team. Like Kristy Wallace, after Kristy was benched, they're the first ones off the bench to cheer their teammates.
Spot on Adrienne, I wish they would of played her more last year. She is so polished, so versatile, all business, how could you not see her value. She can only get better with play time.
I like grace, wow! I do believe that fever should use her, ohhh she looks ready,im anticipating what strength she's bringing,i think she's going to be one strong woman in fever court. Awwwwsome
Coach Sides Missed A lot 🫣🤔🤦🏼♀️… She Dropped The Ball On Caitlin (Frustrated The Heck Out Of Her!)… The Fever Is Paying Her 2 More Years🤦🏼♀️… Anyhow… Berger Did Great When She Got In! I Said That Over & Over! *** We are supposed to get 4-6 inches of snow & ice but not til Monday! (Ohio) 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Grace Berger could be the starter guard on many of the WNBA teams. I watched her play in college and she was great on both ends of the court. While not quite as good as Caitlin, she has great court awareness and high basketball IQ. And her talent was left sitting on the bench!
Because Christy Sides is a horrible coach. You might notice nobody is beating down her door to give her a job. Her coach of the month was a gift from her team, that performed beautifully after the Olympic break. She seemed to get the heck out of the way for a month, and they won 7 of 8. As soon as she started believing her press clippings, she re-imposed her inability to use CC, insisted on working inside out, and put on a clinic of how not to use player rotations. And was quite possibly the worst time management coach I have ever seen.
@@johnbrady1500 Here's why Sides couldn't find a role for her: Before Lin Dunn hired Crusty Sides for Fever, she was an assistant coach for Atlanta Dream. Two of the players on the team at the time we're Erica Wheeler and Kristi Wallace. Wheeler and Wallace were both close personal friends of Sides. When Dunn hired Sides, Sides convinced Dunn to bring Wheeler and Wallace over to the Fever. Although both Wheeler and Wallace were mediocre at best, Sides used them as starters, while leaving capable young players such as Grace Berger, Lexi Hull, and Celeste Taylor on the bench. Even after Sides quit using them as starters, she still used Wheeler as the backup point guard when Caitlin was on the bench. Wheeler is poor as a point guard. For example, in the Phoenix game where Fever lost their 31 point lead while Caitlin was on the bench, Erica was her sub. I guarantee Grace wouldn't have done any worse than that if she'd been the backup instead of Wheeler.
Im in Des Moines, Iowa and its flippin' cold here! Our power went out for a couple of hours and came back on about an hour ago! The whole neighborhood as far as I could see had no power! Same thing happened a month ago but stayed off for 6 1/2 hours!
Sides did not know or recognize the talent in front of her. Hull sat on the bench most of the season when both Hull and Berger could have been integrated to the benefit of the franchise.
I love Grace Berger and think she will definitely be in the rotation this season, Christie Sides really missed the mark this past season. If a head coach had a team of seasoned veterans with playoff experience, then you know exactly what you have, and maybe a 7-8 person rotation works best. But the Fever are\were mostly young players that need time on the floor to continue developing, I see no reason Sides shouldn't have ran a 10 person rotation all season. Grace has excellent ball handling skills, and like others have mentioned she's efficient and protects the ball well, and is a solid defensive player. I think she's the perfect PG2 for this current roster, and even could have times as PG1 with Caitlin running as SG1 for a few minutes, similar to the Pacers when we have Nembhard bringing the ball up the court, and Haliburton playing off the ball as the SG. I am hoping coach White will run a rotation of 10, including Victaria Saxton getting a chance as well.
I remember the Fever game when Grace missed 3 free throws after getting fouled shooting a 3. I watched her throughout her college career and she never missed more then 1 in a row. She rarely played after that.
Grace is the key player for the Indiana Hossier. She is a mid range assassin. And I don't understand why Sides not giving her as a 2nd guard. Hopefully, StephWhite & the new coaching staff utilize her talent.
I said it before and I will say it again. Berger and Kate Martin have most of the same skills. Berger could of played with CC just like Kate did at Iowa. Taylor was another that would of fit right in with CC playing style. Not sure what orders Sides had from Lin Dumbo. But to bench Berger, Taylor and Saxton all season was probably a plan to hold back CC. Sides has zero head coaching skills. Lexie not even starting was another bozo move. When you go back and watch last season again. Can anyone find anything Sides did right during a game ? Leave a reply if you can find anything ! When I go back and watch. All I see is 100% Sides trying to stop momentum. Play old style paint points.
Caitlin and Grace battled for years in the Big 10 conference. Caitlin knows what Grace has got. With the right offensive concepts. It will give Caitlin to play off the ball at times and get an assist from Grace. Lets see teams try to figure that out. And Kelsey can be on the floor at the same time. Lexi as well so who ya gonna guard now. And if they can get Celeste back its on!!!! The Big slow "Physicality" players wont be able to keep up.
I think Grace could play backup to Clark, Mitchell, and even Hull. She is a hard worker, and with the new coaching staff, she should develop even more. With only 12 players on a team (NBA has 15) and adding more games to the schedule this season, any decent coaching staff should put together a team where all 12 players are used in the rotation to maximum effect. Sad to see players rotting on the bench because the coaches have no clue how to utilize them.
After I learned that Erica Wheeler was the one who helped CC feel comfortable with this new journey in the WNBA & that led to sides playing wheeler…. I also know all of the fans were letting their opinion known in the comment section that they wanted Grace in the lineup…. Catch the fever ☮️❤️🙏🌎🌏🌍🇺🇸❤️☮️
I been researching Grace since mid season. I believe if drafted to the W you should be able to play. As a former coach myself, I say she can play at 1 or 2 and with work maybe 3. She has just been move to the PG in Turkey and tomorrow I will be watching. Give 3 m for and 3 m Kelsey. Plays D also.
That's what led to Sides being fired. Wheeler was a friend of Side's. That's why she got the contract she did from the old management. Wheeler is more of a shooting guard than a point guard. Berger should have played the point. White saw that. Wheeler must see the writing on the wall.
From your video it’s apparent that Grace Berger should’ve been playing a lot more than she did this past season. Think she would be great backing up and also playing with CC.
GRACE BERGER IS A GREAT PLAYER. CHRISTI SIDES WAS A LIMITED COACH WHO JUST RODE ON THE BACK OF CAITLIN CLARK. GRACE AND CAITLIN PLAYING TOGETHER WILL BE A NIGHTMARE FOR THE REST OF THE LEAGUE. CAN'T WAIT!
From what I've seen, she has some adept skills that if used would/could benefit Caitlin and the Fever, hopefully White will train her up and put her to use. Look what happened with Lexi after Caitlin came on board.
It’s really hard to not play and then come off the bench and be productive in a few minutes at the end of the game during garbage time. Thad’s what Sides did with Grace. And she didn’t even use Saxton. Those are decent bench players and were just wasted last season. Sides was so frustrating.
I would like to see that. I think Sides did not use Berger correctly. A solid backup to Clark.
agreed, she seemed the logical backup for CC, much more in the same mold as a player than Wheeler. And she has a good mid-range game.
For sure. Sides didn't use anyone correctly! Hope to see Berger in 2025; she deserves a bigger role.

As always, you have great insights, Miss Ross… Love your podcast! Oh, and there is one thing I’ve been wanting to say about Nike and Caitlin Clark. Where are the stockholders
Grace Berger was also a three-time All-State golfer in high school. She has skills, her & CC on the LPGA tour.
Wish the fever could get clips of their players games overseas. Good advertising for everyone, teams and llayers
In 2023 Grace made the All Rookie Team
In 2024 Grace rotted away on the bench because Sides & Wheeler are BFF's
I live in the St. Louis area. All of Missouri is gonna be covered in lots of snow. I'm glad this is my weekend off work
So hard to believe Sides missed something!
She appears to be very capable in the role you mentioned and be valuable to the team.
Spot on Adrienne, I wish they would of played her more last year. She is so polished, so versatile, all business, how could you not see her value. She can only get better with play time.
She basically lost a year, and I hope this next season she gets twice as good to make up for it!
Watched several games with Iowa against Indiana. She 's someone we need to keep.
Can’t wait to see what White can make happen for Grace❤
I can't imagine White letting her go. She attacks the rim as good as anyone. She's tough and young.
Stay safe Adrienne, forecast is for a couple of big storms across the middle of the country that haven't been seen for awhile.
I like grace, wow! I do believe that fever should use her, ohhh she looks ready,im anticipating what strength she's bringing,i think she's going to be one strong woman in fever court. Awwwwsome
Coach Sides Missed A lot 🫣🤔🤦🏼♀️…
She Dropped The Ball On Caitlin (Frustrated The Heck Out Of Her!)…
The Fever Is Paying Her 2 More Years🤦🏼♀️…
Anyhow…
Berger Did Great When She Got In! I Said That Over & Over!
*** We are supposed to get 4-6 inches of snow & ice but not til Monday! (Ohio) 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽
Be safe! I don't want nooooo ice and snow! Help us, Lord! I ain't even joking!
WOW! YES! Grace deserves a seat at the table. She is hungry, talented, and determined. . CC, Kelsey, Erica, and Grace! Fearsome Foursome!
@@StephenFoxwell-i5u "No" to Erica. She's mediocre. Did you mean Aliyah?
@@JE-IC Referring to the backcourt players.
Grace Berger could be the starter guard on many of the WNBA teams. I watched her play in college and she was great on both ends of the court. While not quite as good as Caitlin, she has great court awareness and high basketball IQ. And her talent was left sitting on the bench!
Thanks.
She plays with pace too!😉 I have no clue why Christy Sides couldn’t find a role for her.
@@johnbrady1500 Here's why Sides couldn't find a role for her:
Before Lin Dunn hired Crusty Sides for Fever, she was an assistant coach for Atlanta Dream.
It's 11° right now and snowing with 15 to 25 mph winds from the North East. 4-8" of snow by Sunday at 4 pm. Here in Central Nebraska.
Oh, man! Be safe and warm. I think it's supposed to start after 1:00 a.m. here with the ice, followed by snow. I say NOOOOOOOO!!!
Im in Des Moines, Iowa and its flippin' cold here! Our power went out for a couple of hours and came back on about an hour ago! The whole neighborhood as far as I could see had no power! Same thing happened a month ago but stayed off for 6 1/2 hours!
Berger is jacked!
Sides did not know or recognize the talent in front of her. Hull sat on the bench most of the season when both Hull and Berger could have been integrated to the benefit of the franchise.
You know Berger and Saxton are great because Sides ignored them. They were a major threat to her and Dunn's preferred players.
We need depth & Grace could be a great 6th man off the bench. Just needs the chance in my opinion.
Berger like Caitlan is unselfish and plays under control. Glad she's still with the Fever. She's not ego driven and knows the game.
Grace comes in for CC with 2 minutes left in the first and then starts the second for Kelsey.
I would love to see Grace playing backup for CC. She has not had a fair chance, but she can do it.
Nailed it! Sides was horrible....coaching malpractice.
I didn’t go back and rewatch any games, but I remember yelling at the TV because of Sides just about every game. She was infuriating!
Grace should be the one that comes in for CC when needed.
Remember Saxton too she's talented!!
I'm sold thx Adrianne
Catch the fever
☮️❤️🙏🌎🌏🌍🇺🇸❤️☮️
I been researching Grace since mid season. I believe if drafted to the W you should be able to play. As a former coach myself, I say she can play at 1 or 2 and with work maybe 3. She has just been move to the PG in Turkey and tomorrow I will be watching. Give 3 m for and 3 m Kelsey. Plays D also.
IU, Louisville fans want to see Grace and Clark playing together. Sides didn’t understand what she had.
I thought she looked great last season. This is another bad mistake by Sides, not using her. Give her a chance.
It’s really hard to not play and then come off the bench and be productive in a few minutes at the end of the game during garbage time. Thad’s what Sides did with Grace. And she didn’t even use Saxton. Those are decent bench players and were just wasted last season. Sides was so frustrating.
