(Not yet... If you guys rejected me, it will always be "None" on my next CV, so please be merciful.) Training - Oracle Interests and Hobbies My hobbies revolves around video games. I do competitive video games as well as game development. I'm currently developing a game using RPG Maker and I do it just for fun on my free times. See how short it would be if you haven't got any working experience? There's literally nothing else to write...
Hobbies as mention, it should be like, which enhance your profile. Like a captain of team or writing which actually publish. It shouldn't be like playing eating or going out with friends.
Lucy cos media Hahahah I can relate. I mean we all have done so much in life but when it comes down to listing it as achievements, it all amounts to nothing 🤣
Having hobbies and interests is human. Reframe them as examples of your great skills and leverage that strength on your CV ronnie-writes.blogspot.com/2017/05/8-steps-to-cv-heaven.html
what if you are 16 and don't have any experience. Only got good grades on the GCSEs I have done and doing A-level as well as gcse because I am ahead. What do I put in since it feels like I don't have many things to write.
Confused by the point about keeping font consistent, as in the example the name and contact details use a different font. Is it desirable to have the contact details in a different font or was it a mistake?
3:25 look at the j and the f in the contact details, that is not the same font used in the rest of the document. The closest font I could get to the look of the example was Vijaya. It's less clear in the Rule 5 section of the video because they only show the contact details zoomed out at 4:34, but it still looks like a different font to the rest of the text.
Excellent attention to detail, as you will see further on in the film this is the word that is changed from Hobbits to Hobbies, highlighting the need to thoroughly review and spell check your CV
I disagree with the placing achievements first. Although these are important, I find that the most important thing a potential employer will make the judgement on is personality. Which is why the personal
What if you're 17, have never worked anywhere. The only key achievements are that you've finished highschool, are one year into college. You need experience to get a job, and a job to get experience :/
For my interests and hobbies how much detail should I go in? For example if I were to say reading would I go into books ive read and what I thought about them? Also I'm 17 and dont have anything other than my grades to put on my cv. I could majorly exaggerate things that everyone does in school like presentations and group work? Or should I talk about my future plans and relate it to what I'm applying for? thanks
Most of these employment documents (CV) are published online for a recruiter who uses software to scan the information for key-words relevant to the job. The use of fancy fonts, bullets, bold and formatting is ignored by search engines... Put your most relevant terms in the first 2-3 lines to attract the attention of the reader otherwise it may get discarded as boring... Nothing in this video was helpful to me and these older practices have not worked for me to land an interview... I use Notepad software and an electronic scanable format to include as many job title or description terms that an employer will include in a job advertisement to be attractive to any job recruiter or employer.
''Most people think that a personal profile will make that all important positive impression,'' ''9 out of 10, personal profile have an opposite effect'', she says. oke! didn't know that, thanks for the information
You see right im trying to do a cv for my first job .. Yeah and i have only just finished my leaving cert i have no past employment or anything all i done was school and its hard to do a cv right now !!:( any one helppp mee out with something uselfull ??!!
Just a quick question. I have recently left school, and I need help in writing a CV, I do not really have many achievements because I am only 16, I would like to know what to write on the CV for people who are around my age group. The one big thing I can think of is that I am a Senior Prefect, yes I know, that it not much. However, I do believe that my grammar is okay, but there could be some improvements.
Hi, I am a marketing manager 12 years experience. Do I add my professional trainings on my CV. Some are relevant to my current Job and others are relevant to my old jobs. or this section should not be in my CV? KH
Very good video. How do we keep it within 2 pages when we have worked in many companies and have achievements that is worthwhile sharing? Hope you can clarify
@Selva... For 2 pages short & Brief you will make RESUME not CV. For this Summarize your career by mentioning your designation and exp. & achievements/CERTIFICATIONS only. I hope it helps.
why you need to spend a lot of time for writing CV and design it, while there a so many CV Resume template on Vilancer , and you also can connecting to people to get advice and networking with them on Vilancer - Talent Network ?
OK too little room here. however, you should firstly investigate the role and organisation. next Google common interview questions. you should be prepared for the 10 or so most common, such as why do you want to work here?'. you should prepare a set of questions to ask, this demonstrates you've paid attention during the interview and are interested in the job and organisation. present yourself suitably, and smile. you're expected to be nervous, it is OK to ask for a moment to think of a reply. the interview (for most roles) is to get to know you a little more, not to make you uncomfortable. oh, do learn the contents of your CV - your key skills and qualities for the job, your career history (where possible relevant to the role) finally any qualifications and training that would be of benefit. speak with positivity and a desire to work for this organisation because you admire the product or service etc. be truthful, lies are often quite easy to pick up on.
It's not their business what my interest are. Wheater I'm doing fotball or whatever it mostly doesn't care regarding the job position. Like the point is that I have a hobby that means I'm an active person and therefore well suited for the job? Everybody must be so smart and important. I wonder what are her hobbies watching TV, driking cola and eating chips?
Vik it is how you format the cv not necessarily the programme you use. Word would do fine, it is just making sure spelling, punctuation and the format is neat and tidy with the appropriate paragraphs, wording, bullet points etc. Follow this video and give it a go in word.
thanks but the personal profile bit doesnt really make sense because people would want to know a little about yourself so i dont agree with her saying dont write a personal profile
To solve that issue you could do some work experience. Pretty much any company would love a volunteer. You don't get paid but you offer your helping hands to a company and gain important skills and a reference in the process. A tip: I would try to get work experience for a place that is similar to the type of job that I would want to get paid for. So that I develop the skills I meed for the job I want :)
You didn’t mention anything about ATC tracking systems and how to pass the testing software.. A Cv is only good if it passes the ATS otherwise the document is useless.
Feisty_Azz_Feline 05 Wait,Wait,Wait. You're telling me you don't know what a CV is I hope you're younger than 10 cause i knew what a freaking CV was when i was 8.

I removed interests and hobbies ages ago, no one is interested in that bit. I am applying for jobs overseas so nationality is important.

They look the same to me. The only difference is that the name is bold.

I am 17 currently in college n I had no idea how tf to write a CV... this helped a lot
Contrary to your advice, my careers advisor tells me that I should not be specific when describing in my CV.
... Profile is essential in giving the employer an idea of your personality, and whether that will fit with the job role
Interests and "Hobbits"
Thanks for making it a bit fun there at 2:15
Amazing video, very comprehensive and informative. thanks a lot!
I was a Secretary so what could I put in achievements?
I love your template. How do I get it?Plus I am asked to attach a motivation letter. How do I go about it?
What about saying work you don't like and subjects at school you don't like.
Michael Janchura never mention that, it just shows that you're picky and you'll probably not like the job you are applying for
Thank you for sharing suchaa quite simple and clear explanation... congratulations!
