I have just been to Seoil and Busan this June. I found LG SIM at 53900 wons for calls and texts for 6 days very proficient n affordable. I would like to try KT the next trip. I learnt about Klook, Krusim and Trazy from your video. It is very helpful n comprehensive. Thank YOU!
Wifi on KTX trains was generally very good and it wasn't necessary to subscribe to KT-Wifi. But you're absolutely right about not being able to use the wifi on the metro unless buying a KT (or T-Mobile) pass, which I think was 6000 Won a day. Great vlog, once again - many thanks. 😊🇰🇷
I have been to Korea for work twice three times for about 10 days each. First trip I tried Verizon's $100 for 1 month of international. It had limited data. Second Trip I tried Verizons 1 Day Travel Pass for $10/day. This had unlimited data, but balanced out the same for a 10 day trip and did get me $10 more than I was planning since it crossed the 1 hour mark into day 11 when I stayed at the airport. They also offer a plan that accumulated international days a month, but required a more expensive plan and required all of the phones on the plan to go to a more expensive plan. My coworker had TMobile which had cheaper roaming, but the speed was greatly lowered. I think I'm going to try your suggestion about a data sim card (with Verizon as my plan B) for this next trip and stick to Whatsapp to call home.
I am currently looking at getting a SIM card when I arrive. I have been checking them out and many allow pick up from Incheon. I am concerned whoever as I don’t arrive until 7.30pm - if I organise to pick up will I be able to at that time of night. I am still a bit confused.
Yong, thank you for making videos on travelling to Korea. They are very insightful and extremely useful especially the tips you provide that is often not found elsewhere. I watch all your videos to plan for my trip to Korea in September. One question I have is can I get by in Korea just on a data only plan without a local phone number?
Hello!! Why can’t you make outgoing call with having sim card in your iPhone. What phone connection do I need then to just call a taxi ? Your tips are always helpful. Thanks!!!
I'm planning to solo travel to the Philippines 🇵🇭 n overlay to S. Korea for 12 or 13 hours . I'm planning to do the tourist tour, so I'll definitely need data.
Hi Your Korea Friend, Will visit Seoul & Busan in May this year. I'd like to book a car (for 2 people): pick up at Inchon airport, and then drive us around Seoul for 3 days. Could you please recommend some vendors? Thank you!
How does this work? I call my service provider in the States to unlock my phone (or verify it's unlocked), then fly to Korea and buy a SIM card there? What kind of SIM card do I need? Why do I need to contact Klook, Krusim, or Trazy to purchase? Why not just buy an eSIM card from one of the stores at the Incheon Airport? That way, you additionally get a HUMAN to help you.
I would do the same. Unless you are super out of time for the train or bus, why bother getting these by the overseas mails. I would just stop by the front desk in the airport terminal 1 or 2 and purchase the sim cards or whatever looks good right there.
Is the SIM card or eSIM phone number sufficient for apps like KakaoTaxi? Or do those apps also require other verification? If so, do you know ways we can still use common phone apps in South Korea if we’re just traveling there for a few days?
Hi here is question if i going to use pocket wifi and picking in incheon airport but can I return it other location Picking at the incheon airport and return to gimhae airport?
Hello! I need some clarity- will I need to have an international plan for data plus the sim card or I only need the sim card so I can access roaming data and wi-fi?
Hi, I am a graduate student at POSTECH University, Pohang, South Korea. I will arrive on 13th February in South Korea. As I will get POVIS registration (University Wifi ). Should I need to buy Pocket wifi? I need a few minutes of connections to inform my family that I have arrived safely.
Hello. Portable wifi device doesn't provide a Korea phone number. So I think you can input hotel's phone number in the section where you need to input contact number. Also check on the box where it says No mobile phone. :)
@@yourkoreafriend A similar question - if I don't change my phone (don't get a SIM card) and plan to be in Korea two weeks without a phone, then - can I still do all the Q-code, etc? After the PCR test in Korea (first 72 hours), do they send the results to my email or do I HAVE to have a phone number for SMS? I will have a Korean address and the phone number of a relative. Will not having a personal phone cause any problems with my entry into Korea? Thanks!
You could use your relative's number for Q-code. :) They will send you the PCR result to your email. Someone told me in the comment of my other video that he received the result through his email. :) Also just to let you know, now you need to take the arrival PCR test within a day. There will be no problem with the entry without a personal phone. :) If they ask for a contact number, give them your relative's number.
Hello, I’d like to ask which specific area in Incheon airpot I can purchase a pocket wi-fi? Also, I would like to know if there’s a specific group of tourist guides whom I can book for a day tour or two just within Myeongdong area? My scheduled flight to SK is in October and it’s gonna my first time to visit the country so I’m kinda nervous most especially that I don’t speak Hanguk…
Hello! You can rent a pocket wi-fi at Incheon Airport. But just to be safe, try to book one online so that they don't run out. One of the website I know about is klook. I haven't used it but I heard a lot about them. Try to book one and pick it up at the airport. :) www.klook.com/activity/16463-4g-wifi-south-korea/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwr4eYBhDrARIsANPywCi6-Nh_yQzS4txUEOxgOVXcNsWbpaRWM8J1H0RE9MxSyCmfIaLgYqUaAlXqEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds About the tour, I know there are palace tours. Is there a specific tour you are looking for? Also Myeongdong is so popular to foreigners so it's very english-friendly 😉
With regards to the tour, I actually plan to just roam around Myeongdong on the first day ( just to go on a binge - most especially trying all kinds of Korean dishes haha) and I might also visit some famous places nearby. And on the second day, I might go somewhere outside Seoul (hopefully with a guide) and try to take the train or the subway. And on the third day, I might go shopping and get ready for my next flight to another country.
@@Denden-kb6ed There should have been an option to select a pick up location. It’s either 1F in terminal 1 or terminal 2. There is a KT roaming booth :)

Hello! I never heard anyone using t mobile plan here but i think it should fine. :) For phone number, you need a local Korea number so that people can call you with that number. If you think you will not be using calls that much, then you should be okay with your own number. :)
My coworker had T Mobile for a trip to Seoul. His TMobile plan did work, but its bandwidth was pretty throttled. It worked, but was noticeably more difficult to use apps, send data. He ended up getting a eSim card a few days later for a slightly better app experience.
