I wasn't born in this age but I remember living through all this stuff and somehow by the grace of God I wound up understanding what most young people go through today. However, I'd have to say our generation. Now they have the most painful journey of trying to figure out what truth is mainly cuz they're not allowed to realize that truth is real. Kind of sad if you think about it
84 hear and I can't believe all the things I have lived through. Just video-games from first super mario to today's graphics. Also ninja turtles was born the same time as me and it's still going strong 😂
You know what I love most about Owl City...every single time I hear one of Adam's songs come on, even if it is for the first time, I always get a big ass smile on my face.
This the first time I've ever seen a "90's kids" thing where the 90's kids were both reminiscing about the good times but still genuinely excited for the future, most people from that era and afterwards are really bitter about having their dreams of a liveable earth and affordable housing ripped out from under them. This is the kind of positivity the world needs
I was born in the 90s, 91 to be exact, so granted I am bummed with how things are where it's difficult to find a home and having to live paycheck to paycheck, however, as much as I miss the 90s I am still hopeful for the future not just for my generation but for many more to come.
its funny because my fourth grade teacher played Owl City and he loved this song. He was my favorite teacher and he's retiring next year. I come back to this song all the time now. He's pretty much the reason i love owl city, ill honestly miss him a bunch edit 2021, if anyone still reads this, he DID retire and honestly I still miss him haha, but this song still takes me back no matter how many times I listen to it :D
This song is like a perfect little time capsule that, as time goes by, will never truly get old. This song, I hope, will always be known in the future as a staple of our era.
I keep coming back to this wonderful song trying to reminisce my childhood days... I am present during the time VHS is still a thing, and I witnessed how it transitioned into CDs and later DVDs... The childhood memories of playing in indoor play places like McDonald's... The fun of riding stuffs in arcades, rushing back home to catch up on my favorite shows after school... And now I am a miserable person who have nothing in his life, I wonder where time did go. I want to experience it all over again. Redo everything that led me being this way because I'm in a mess that I can't escape anymore.
Its unbelievable how much time has passed since Fireflies and yet here I am, as much as a fan of you as if not more than a decade it has been. Come back, Adam.
you know what's unbelievable? how many times a day I listen to this song!! oh God, this is going to be hugee! When I went to see Owl City in October 2015, I made a Tshirt that was inspired by this song. I added all the things he mentions on the back of my shirt, and while I was waiting in line to get inside the venue, the base player Rob came up to me because he loved my shirt :'D it was unbelievable.
I’ve been a fan of owl city since when can i see you again but wow, just wow. How am I only discovering this tonight, way past bedtime? I thought he stopped making music but he’s still here! My favorite singer is still here!
As a 90s kid, I truly dig the references. This is my favorite album from Owl City. Thunderstruck has some amazing electronic jams too. His latest album, Cinematic, is great too. I feel like I grew up with Owl City, even though he has only been performing in the 2000s. When he was just making beats in his basement, I lacked direction in my life, and now that he is a pop sensation, I have a job and a dog.
Only if people in these days knew how great the 90s and early 2000s were. The music was better, people weren't edicted to there phones, people played out side, they rid the bikes to places, and last we had a good presedent.
well i do, it didnt sound so fun to be honest. remember my dad telling me that the river that was in his city. Was often coulerd in blue, green, pink and other colours due to the local paper factory. Dosnt sound that fun to be honest
I was born midway through the 90's (January 1995) and i can relate to most of this, but not all of it. But from what I've been told by my older cousins and friends, and from what I've lived, I'd say 1985-2005 was the best time to be a kid. We had cool things like Nintendo and good saturday morning cartoons, but we also had safety and freedom to play outside with our family or friends. This song definitely hit my nostalgic nerve.
Amanda S.C I can agree to this entirely. I was born in 1994 and can related to most of this song. I miss my childhood so much. It truly was an amazing time to be alive.
The nostalgia how things change from when you're a child and then an adult. Now i actually know why parents always told you 'Enjoy yourself while you are still a kid'.

When I was a kid I saved up all my dough so I could buy C-3PO
Put Mentos in my Diet Coke in the backseat of the bus
When I was a kid I ate spaghetti Os, played laser tag and GI Joe's
And if you vowed no girls allowed then you could join the club
When I was I was a kid I spent my Saturday's
Blowin' on Nintendo games
The newest thing was Lion King and I could feel the love
It's unbelievable
This is as good as it gets
It's unbelievable
Don't know what's gonna happen next
It's unbelievable
You haven't seen nothing yet
It's unbelievable, it's unbelievable
When I was a kid I dreamed of Power Wheels
Stayed up late watching action films
And I won't lie, my friends and I, were too legit to quit
When I was a kid I lived for climbing trees and Dr Pepper jellybeans
My favorite part of Jurassic Park was how real the Raptors looked
When I was a kid I still had VHS,
Watched Fresh Prince and Jazzy Jeff, Zack Morrison
The first cell phone, it was off the hook!
It's unbelievable
This is as good as it gets
It's unbelievable
Don't know what's gonna happen next
It's unbelievable
You haven't seen nothing yet
It's unbelievable, it's unbelievable
Cat, pogs, and floam and home alone, Berenstein bears and bean bag chairs
My L.A. Looks and Goosebumps books, oh Etch-a-sketch
What happens next?
Grape juicy juice and Dr. Seuss, piggy-back rides and
Slip-n-slides, McDonalds Fries, those were the best
What happens next?
It's unbelievable
This is as good as it gets
It's unbelievable
Don't know what's gonna happen next
It's unbelievable
You haven't seen nothing yet
It's unbelievable, those were the days oh-oh
It’s unbelievable
When I think back on my name
It’s unbelievable
'Cause baby those were the days
It’s unbelievable
It ruled in so many ways
It’s unbelievable, it’s unbelievable

This makes me feel nostalgic and I wasn't even born in this era
I got in touch with Owl City as a damn kid in elementary, now I’m graduating high school. Could only hope these precious memories never fade away.
Classics never really die they just fade into classical nostalgia
But man was it good times to quote another owl city song
How did I miss an Owl City-Hanson collab on a song about the early 90's? Like HOW? This song is amazing...I can't stop listening!
I just got hit in the face with the sledgehammer of nostalgia.
2022 and this song still takes me back to when I was a kid now 23 and filled with anxiety
*This song is a legit time machine*
I was born in the 2000's..... But this song somehow brings me back to a time I had never been in.....
Proof of time machines.
