Hi Stew...Zaya looks positively stunning @ 5:33, you lucky guy! Thanks for sharing the adventure, much respect and admiration for you ... and a bit of envy as well!
spent many years in Asia in navy lived in the Philippines other places understand a lot better then many but i understand. people from that part of the world among my most favorite people Asia many great places and people
Hi team Luckyfish, another great video, the colors are stunning and the sailing looks very relaxing. Assume the Pahi was a 42? Wondered if you caught up with them and learnt their story? Hope all is well. Nigel
Hi Nigel, glad you enjoyed this one - yes, she is a Pahi 42 and very nice boat too. We did not catch up to the owners - only later did I discover she is in charter based out of Carriacou - many more nice photos here sites.google.com/site/carriacouislandcharter/-stillus-the-boat cheers! Stew
Hi Gail, Great to hear that. A pretty brave young man that skipper. Are you getting tempted to cross to the Carib yet??? We are finding our favorite spots slowly and try to do them justice in the vids, while noting spots to avoid too... Hi to Neil from us
We will be spending a year or two in the Med first I think. Neil's says hi and is enjoying the videos too. We'll let you lead the way and find the best places to visit, and maybe those to avoid!
Yes, "if you must leave then do so, otherwise why leave if you are happy staying" - B. Moitessier Hence we are "delayed" in the Caribbean another season as you will be in the Med. Our best to you both! Stew and Zaya
Hi, Lf was built in Sth Africa by Dan Hardwicke who has had a fair bit to do with Wharrams over the years. You can read the story here www.svluckyfish.com/the-build/ Thanks so much for your kind comment. Are you contemplating a build? What type of boat do you have in mind? Cheers
I think the only things that turn me off about a Wharram is the wave slap as heard at 2:00 in this video, and in other videos, inside each hull, below deck, and not having an unexposed connection between hulls. EXCELLENT real time point-of-view film editing between two "racing" boats, I've never seen a better cut even in the movie Wind. NEVER feed BLACK birds! At 10:36, SMOKER!! Great video. Oh, from the comments; You handled taewachien about his/her question well. Don't get me wrong, I had the same impression of the two Norwegian men, and I am not too far from what he/she said, but I don't see reason to debate personal beliefs in this forum. Friends are friends because of who they are to you, not because of what they do.
Thanks Ric. About the wave slap, in all truth it has never really bothered any of us. Having said that, I am wondering how to record voice overs in the cabin in the coming months! Andy Smith in the Philippines builds the hulls without the knuckle - he cold moulds them. I actually like the knuckle and have seen how it deflects spray - but I think it is responsible for most of the noise you hear. Cheers for your comment on the other matter - appreciated. Stew
How do you like your cat dinghy, and how does it compare to a vhull ridged inflatable? Just asking as I hope to start cruising in the next few years and I know how important a good dinghy is. Thanks in advance.
We love the Takacat due to it's lightweight, stability, and semi rigid high pressure floor. It has thick rubber skid shoes on the two hulls to prevent punctures on coral etc. When it's tethered to the stern and we are on anchor we use a short tether and keep it in the lee of the boat when the wind is up. We tow it when anchor hopping, but stow it on deck or in bags for longer trips or if it's blowing. We have a 5HP two stroke and it will fairly fly along on the plane with just me in it. What sort of mothership do you have in mind?
I'm not sure but am hoping it to be a cat. I do like the simplicity of the Wharrams but they aren't the right design for winters in the Pacific Northwest of Canada which is where I will spend the first 2-3 years. A person would have to have 3 different heaters, 1 for each hull and 1 for the Pod, just not practical for a year round live aboard in colder climates. Even so, I have been eyeing the 37 ft Wharram on Yachtworld in Thailand that's been for sale for over a year.
+JC F check out "Finding Simon" on youtube. He just bought a very run down Wharram Oro in BC and will be living aboard while doing the reno. That 37ft Wharram in Thailand - do you mean C Turtle? If so, its a Tiki 38. Cheers Stew.
I like it :-) Certainly "cashing in" in the best possible way. Vid length is a function of what is sustainable for regular episodes. Our first 20 episodes or so ran to around 20 mins - which unfortunately has proved not to be sustainable. Good luck with your boat hunt. Have you found the one yet? Cheers
Yes indeed. That's been suggested to them a few times and I am encouraging it to happen. Could be quite inspiring to a new group of young sailors. Zaya posts to a FB group in Mongolian - World Travellers Group and there is alot of interest in their story from home, Cheers, Stew
Ha, true story mate. We are aware of boats who do "forget" quite often. Clearing out and clearing in..... Once met a couple of Spanish dudes who had sailed all the way to NZ - clearing in literally nowhere along the way :-) including NZ. They said they loved the "free sheep" in the hills.

Zaya says "thanks and it's always interesting to hear people notice different things" :-)
I love watching the women, they are not shy and seem to enjoy every situation!
Thanks mann, yes they are the best spirited crew you could possibly wish for! Thanks so much for your comments...
Loved the guitar riffs at the end, fitting of this most awesome episode. Thanks, stay safe, and have fun.
Cool. Yes, nice Floyd inspired work there.
You make my day when I see another Lucky Fish is in my TH-cam notifications.......
And you make our day when we hear stuff like that. Thank you
A world without borders, what a dream that would be. Sorry, I was dreaming. Thanks Stew for the nice video again. Best from HKG
Yes, sadly just a dream. As one commenter said, paying to leave and enter a country is theft. I tend to agree.
That was awesome it looks like so much fun I am jealous . Keep up with the videos it makes my days a hole lot better. Larry from Ontario Canada
It's a pleasure. So glad to let a bit of Caribbean sunshine into your place. Cheers
have got to say you you have got about the best crew out there, love your videos would love to hear more talking from them in the video.
Thanks James. I reckon you are right about that. Yes, will try to include more talk - Tuya's english slowly improving through the videos! Cheers

Thanks Ian. Appreciated.
The water looks incredible
Yes. The camera doesn't lie.. those colours are quite real. Of course even more stunning when you are gliding across the top of them.

Hi Bricey - be seeing you soon mate.
Great promotion to the boat! On a budget?
We saw The King of Bongo in Alvor, on The Algarve in Portugal.

Proof that you can beat a gale, but you will never beat a bureaucrat.
Great quote. We will use it next time they have us cornered :-)
Hi, did you make the Wharram 38 yourself? It's beautiful

Did you add another water generator?
Do you mean the hydrogenerator? No, still got the one. One watermaker too. Why do you ask?
Luckyfish Gets Away I one shot it looked add if there was a second one. Thanks.
Ahh, no worries. Yeah, one is plenty enough for our needs :-)
Stew, across pacific heading for Bali, Indonesia.
I see you cashed in again, getting richer every day.
Time to give the fans some slack maybe, and make longer vids.
Keep sailing!

The girls should write a book in Mongolian.

Luckyfish Gets Away Paying to enter and exit a country is theft, and if you can get in and out without paying, more power to you. Bravo.
Fully agree. It is theft dammit!
yaa not real sure why your vids are boring...compared to the rest but keep posting hope you find the right editing
