In the late 1950s, Richard Harris made his stage debut in Dublin and London, gaining critical acclaim for his performances in various theater productions. His breakthrough role came in 1963 when he starred as the brooding and rebellious Joe Magarac in the play "This Sporting Life."
Harris' big-screen success continued throughout the 1960s and 1970s, with notable roles in films such as "Camelot" (1967), where he played King Arthur, and "A Man Called Horse" (1970), in which he portrayed an English aristocrat captured by Native Americans.
One of Harris' most iconic roles was that of Albus Dumbledore in the first two Harry Potter films. Although he only played the role in these two films before passing away, his portrayal of the wise and benevolent Hogwarts headmaster left a lasting impression on fans worldwide.
Aside from his acting career, Richard Harris was also a talented singer and released several albums, showcasing his distinctive baritone voice. His renditions of songs like "MacArthur Park" and "My Boy" received positive reviews from music critics and fans alike.
On October 25, 2002, Richard Harris passed away at the age of 72 in London, leaving behind a legacy of exceptional performances and a reputation as one of the greatest actors of his generation. He didn’t always take acting so seriously and sometimes his personal struggles created hurdles for him. But he still managed to carve out a great career for himself.
BUT….he also had a reputation for sometimes being extremely difficult to work with!

I don’t think Richard Harris sang “If ever l would leave you.” That was sung by the Sir Lance character.

As Richard’s biographer I can attest to the fact that this post is perfectly representative of the superficial nonsense typical of this page. Nothing new here at all. Boring.btw he didn’t sing If Ever I Would Leave You! He wasn’t in The Human Factor either. Or The Devil Rides Out. Do some research. Or rename the page ‘Facts Don’t Matter at All.’

@5:13 Those aren't scenes from Gladiator. They're from a tv miniseries called "Caesar" from 2002.

And looked gorgeous as always. Richard Harris was gifted in numerous ways. Lucky us, especially us girls since we have a whole other level of admiration, lust and endless sexual fantasies. He inspires multiples x infinity. I'd have liked to use him as my canvas for an art project. I'll use a friend who will do just fine. ❤
