Super clear and helpful thank you. Quick question, on the next row down, do you measure another 5.25 inch line from the bottom line and measure the half way again?
Thank you so very much! I have watched so many videos on how to quilt but nobody ever talks about the speed of the machine. You answered that and many other questions. Keep up the great work!
what a wonderful job you did for my help. you get a A+ day for today. i will be going back to watch you more. you are so helpful and i am going to order the additional item thanks so much for your help. have a blessed day carol carone
Questions please. What helps the fabric. slide? Mine doesn’t move well. How do you keep your stitches the same size? Keeping that consistent pace is hard and I hear you speed up towards the end each time and then you got comfortable and faster. Next question, can you do this without the bracket? That feels tougher to hold for me. Lastly, do you have a video that shows how to do this on a whole real size quilt? Like how do you manage the fabric etc on a queen size quilt? Thanks!
Great questions! You could purchase a quilting slider (quilting mat) to help the fabric slide easier. Keeping an even stochastic length takes practice. To begin with, you should start with a slow needle speed and practice moving the fabric smoothly under the needle. Once you get comfortable with the speed and movement, then you can move up the speed of the needle. It really just rakes quite a bit of practice. Yes, you can use the templates without the grip.
Every time I try to use my template on my sewing machine along with the foot you have it presses down so tight I can’t move it. How do I get it to move? Just learning how to quilt with templates
I froze the video to look closely at the stitches and it appears there are a few places when it made a bigger stitch. Is this because you put the width on 0, or does it happen when you pause or change your speed? I have all these tools but have not tried it yet. This video is so helpful and I’m not scared to give it a go now! Thank you!!!
It usually happens when you pause or change your speed. You should always keep your width to 0. You got this!! Let us know how your process goes. Good luck and happy quilting!
Unfortunately mine is not as sturdy, very flimsy and part rises up and jams and I have broken several needles. Not sure Haworth to stabilise this. Any help would be appreciated. 😢

HELP!! Not sure what I'm doing wrong, or if the template is too large for my machine, but cannot complete any template without running out of room in the workspace to the right of my needle. The opening is 6" wide. Is my machine too small, or am I not doing something right?
We are currently out of stock. You can check your sewing machine’s brand, most probably they have it. If not, you can find it online. Make sure to read your machines guide to know which one fits best with our 5mm templates.
@April121959 May182003 I would recommend wearing your quilting gloves as they have rubberized material that will give you a better grip to move your fabric. Your fabric is probably heavy, and you need to practice how to move it while quilting.

Thank you! I just bought a set and no instruction; you have very clear instructions.

New here and ready to learn free motion finally
So glad you're here!
Thanks for the great tutorial, I was very curious on how to use these. I would have never thought of the practice run without turning on the machine

You should put those sticky pads on the template frame, too.
You can put them either on the frame, template, or both. Whatever works best for you.

1. Why do you draw the lines on the fabric? Do you always have to draw lines as you go down the quilt? Thank you
It helps keep my quilts straight. You don't have to do it if you can keep them straight with no lines
When it comes to your sewing machine - do you need any specific requirements (other than being able to lower the feed dogs down)?
Yes, you need a ruler foot to start using your templates.

For free motion quilting, if you have dropped the feed dogs as recommended, the quilt sandwich won't move until you move itwith your hands.
Why don't you use a dark thread so we can really see where you are quilting? Hard to tell with the white thread.
Will do that next time. Thanks for your input 👌
