I used to be one of these "team natural" girls and I still consider myself team natural. But instead of hating on weaves, I've realized in many instances a weave helps me maintain my already healthy, strong and long natural hair. I got a weave after I messed up my natural hair from bleaching it. My natural hair actually healed and grew 3-4 inches because I was able to still have a great style while leaving my hair alone to heal. My natural hair ended up being thicker an stronger and I would do a weave again just because it's like having a head covering while still having hair to play in. I like changing my style a lot. But I also like having my actual soft hair. So to all of you hating on weaves like it's all lies...sometimes it's protection. Some of us aren't trying to fool people. We are acutally trying to protect ourselves. Because, at the end of the day, no man (or anyone who isn't a professional) is going to come oil our scalps for us when we start shedding from flatironing our own hair because they don't want to have a nappy head chick. Get over the hate. It's fun and it can be healthy if done correctly. The hair sold would be sold anyway as Indian's cut their hair as part of Hindu rituals and it would be destroyed anyway. Why not let them make that money for their families and villages doing something they'd do to honor their religion? And we are still Black or whatever no matter what. Black is a culture, not a hairstyle.
I can't wait to get mines! I need to stop flat ironing my natural hair from leave outs and this will not only protect it but it will have more versatility to it. You did such a great job sis💖
