    I think this has become my "go-to" for car reviews and news. Lots of great channels out there, but Sam has seemed to stay very consistent and honest. Thanks for all the time you guys put into these!

    I just bought 2016 Platinum Explorer last October and I have to say that I'm very pleased with it. I scored lucky as it came with everything I ever wanted (except the Sync 3) and that includes the second row bench seat so now I can take the whole gang around town. Nice review!

    Your camera man does an excellent job of panning slowly... but not too slowly, and staying still when necessary. Rear seats look comfortable, something that can't be said for so many other expensive SUVs that have short ... low cushions.

    As an owner of a 2016 Explorer Platinum (Black), I can confirm the slow down of cars in front of me often! I kinda knew that coming into the purchase....... but yeah...... conversely if I'm coming up behind someone at an aggressive speed, they tend to get out of the way instead of break check........so it works both ways :)

    Hey Sam, same thing happens to me in my Explorer except mine is dark gray so it baffles me when cars start slowing down as I'm driving behind them. haha

    The Explorer looks nice, anyone else think it resembles the Range Rover?

    Thank you for the very thorough review Sir. I was wondering if Ford has addressed the safety issue regarding the small front overlap crash test on the 2017 Ford Explorer model? It was my understanding that Ford lagged behind KIA, Honda and Chevrolet in the three row crossover IIHS test. It seems like if a manufacturer wants to sell in this class of vehicle aimed at families, safety would be one of the top priorities, not a leather wrapped dash in a Ford. What are your thoughts on this?

    I'm interested to see how this compares to the new GMC Acadia Denali. Looks like a direct competitor now.

    How did you not mention that it has heated, cooled, and massaging front seats?

    In person, the satin chrome trim really gives a more modern luxury appearance, but doesn't show up in pictures.

    Instead of "hand-me-down from Lincoln", maybe call it "shared technology". :P

    If you buy a brand new 2016 Ford will let you upgrade to the SYNC 3 dash unit. All the service center need is one day.

    The 2020 Ford explorer looks way bigger

  • @bkehlin
    @bkehlin 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    People don't realize that they've helped create the SUV of recent years, which is more on-road vehicle than off-road. Wanting more luxury and bigger wheels, stiffer ride and better handling makes for bad off-road manners.

    Never again Ford (((( had one 2016 explorer dropped that thing to a dealer 3 times in one year. They ripped me off with additional service and parts that I have to pay for! The thing big and looks good ,but reliability is sucks.

    Bought a 2009 ford flex sel. Worst. Decision. Ever. The build quality on ford is disappointing to say the least. Seems like they haven't changed much.

    yet another lukewarm review of the seemingly mediocre Explorer from TDTV. i doubt the 2017 version would have made much of a difference. oh well, the next generation shouldn't be too far away.
