Strains of Insanity from Chrono Trigger. That goddamn laugh... Drought from Pokemon Omega Ruby. Take an already creepy track and update it for a much more creepier factor. Since the video is out, it is time for me to make this announcement. Starting today, Azulasfire and I are retiring from our positions on TatsTopVideos. We have had such a wonderful time on the team and we want to thank Tats and the rest of the team for letting us have a spot on the team, with Azula as a scriptwriter and me as the Lead Research Advisor. Unfortunately, with working on my own content and a job I got at the beginning of the year, plus Azula starting her projects, we just don't have anymore time to spare. You all have been amazing and I will still be around as a voice actor whenever Tats asks. As I step down, I want to thank the wonderful LadyMienshao for stepping up and taking the reigns of the Lead Research Advisor. She absolutely deserves the honor of the position. Thank you everyone, and I hope to still see you around on the fan Discord server if you are there :). And of course, I will be in the comment section, still watching the wonderful videos Tats and the team put out.
Plus, combine with limited oxygen and the threat of water pressure killing you would be ten times worse (there's a Mythbusters episode regarding water pressure killing someone, and this is pretty much accurate).

As much as I find terrifying the gargantuan monsters from other games, I feel safer knowing most are just way too big to even exist. Narcosis keeps the horror real and that hits harder.
Cool to learn about more horror games that take place underwater. Even in the water, it can be a terrifying thing. Weather there's something in the water, explore the unknown, or just being in water is horrifying enough for different people. A wonderful job doing this list. Keep up the great work and take care.
I do have a fear of just water in general, surprisingly I don't find the concept of being in the ocean as terrifying as I thought. The bigger monsters still send shivers down my spine though, even the Reefbacks make me uneasy despite knowing they're harmless.

These horror game list videos are my favorite out of all your lists videos that you do, can't wait for more of them in the future....underwater horror games can be very intense at times.
At this point, Tats could post any top video and we all will still chime in like "ahh, the nostalgia". Still good stuff. Also I wish those members who worked for Tats who are leaving luck on their future endeavors and hope the new kids have fun on the team.
Ironically, the biggest thalassophobia moment I've had in games was in the 1996 adventure game Riven, which has precisely one moment where you're looking through a huge window into a gigantic tank, and it looks like you're deep in the ocean, and you can summon a massive fish called a "whark". But if you summon it too many times the whark gets extremely angry and tries to bash through the glass. Absolutely traumatized me as a kid, and you don't even get into the water.
Thank you for another Top-x video, even knowing the games in this one doesn't make it less interesting to watch, your approach and quality never disappointed for almost 8 years that I know your channel.

I immediately thought of the invisible water monster from amnesia, but that's technically not an aquatic game, but being deep underwater especially in vr can be incredibly claustraphobic, so that combined with the horrors of the deep ocean, is a strange combination indeed!
Fantastic video as always, you made me discover about ten titles that were perfect for me as I suffer from thalassophobia. PS: I expected to find *Ecco The Dolphin* in it too. Ok, it's an old game, but it's still an underwater game and it's also disturbing in some places.
You're welcome. Ecco The Dolphin kind of yeah. But i think it starts off fun and adventerous but the later levels are more nightmare fuel. Not sure if it was going for the horror theme entirely
