*When I have that much solder on a pot, I use my DREMEL and a vacuum with a half inch attachment. it takes solder off in matter of seconds and no heat to the pot, all the particles are vacuumed as I work. Its technique I use from wood working.*
I feel your frustration, brother. For stubborn solder blobs I put some Flux on it, use the solder sucker, braid, or even dry piece of paper towel to wipe off the remnants once it's liquefied. Nevertheless, great content. Jimmy.
They are a pain to be honest I’d normally just replace the pot but you have to do what the customer wants hey. Thanks for flux tip I’ve never tried that I’ll give it a shot next time 😁👍. Thank you very much Andy

i found a strat 5 way instead of a ibanez 5 way switch is it possible to wire it without buying a new switch because i like how this one feels and the last owner said the old one needed replacement because it would not switch to the bridge. I have a ibanez without pickguard and by opening the backplate after my volume stopped working i found out in a mess of wires that one of them were not soldered and i dont know who to ask for help it would be great if you could give me tips. Cheers
Great video ,i have a Ibanez rg170 dx ,and yes the wiring is rubbish i don't know what to do next. I think the three wires of the humbuckers is strange or not. Do i twist ground and common together ? . On of the wires is off of the pot or switch i don't know. Can you help.

Hello mark can you send me an email with pictures please? Or if you’re local drop in the shop cheers Andy
@@GuitarDoctorUK will do, thanks
Found you lol getting old
@@GuitarDoctorUKhi buddy I sent you a email.still can't figure out the wiring, driving me crazy
Used 60 watts soldering iron ....
Use TAKUMI 60 watts and takumi lead wire to solved your problem in soldering
Every time i go to use my iron i expect to burn my hands at least a little
Next time use a hi-wattage soldering.
Not identifying the type of switch at the outset doesn’t help much.
Spends a half hour on a ten dollar part.
Learn more about soldering, its in you tube, that way you can do thing faster. Hope you dont mind my comment, just want to help you.
