      I’m legit trying to think of some reasons to get up early out of bed, what’s some ideas for motivation. I’m back in the gym and I’m almost back to where I was in wrestling in highschool, now I just need to break this big bad habit.

      @@cptmorgan4183 Honestly I have no clue what will motivate you everybody is different, but if you just stick through the initial week or two of not wanting to do it everything will become easier and you'll be back to where you were in no time!
      Life's short man and one day you might look back and think what if I did this or that, but if you stick to what you think is important now you'll look back and think; I'm a badass look what I can do if i put my mind to it!
      Then that feeling will compound and things you thought were impossible initially will seem easy. Then who knows what you might be up to!

      Interesting interviews withy people who used to work at Twitter and FB about how they intentionally design the algorithms to be addictive. Each "like" acts on the dopamine center of the brain just like cocaine or gambling. It's seriously immoral of these companies to do, there needs to be new standards and accountability. They have too much power.

The smartphone and it's design, the way you have to use your hands, the way apps are designed, it's all to high jack your brain and hit the dopamintrigger over and over. It makes you addicted to likes, shares, apps and stuff. Even some of the executives don't give tablets or smartphones to their children 😂 insane

    I was literally like this today. Before I watched this video, I missed my 430AM alarm to get up and go to the gym. Told myself no no no I WILL get my ass up and go to the gym tomorrow. Usually I would be kicking myself that I missed it today. But instead I gave myself some positive reinforcement and feel motivated and not demotivated.
    Edit: Indeed went to the gym next day.

    The self positive reinforcement is probably the most overlooked habit. Whenever you finish a big task, you have to pause and reflect and acknowledge the effort you put into it. Most of us think "Oh, I had to do that anyway therefore I don't deserve praise", but you worked hard so give yourself credit.

    the problem with corona and lockdowns is that if you want to search new friends that have a positive mindset. It really is hard because you dont go to school, clubs, bars, etc. You will be stuck witj your own friends

      luckily I have jujitsu and a self defense class the mindset is different from the eeyore's who I have to avoid
      you might want to be throw out some encouragement to others I was trudging off to my parking garage workout really dreading it when a woman said to me
      you look a lote different since you have been working out compare that with my other coworkers telling me 'yea you are leaner but you are still a loser'
      or calling my workout babypiss
      I ride a surfskate around agility cones I was out there by myself kind of sad and alone I had finished a run and a woman stopped at the light shouted you are doing good
      it really helped

    I was unemployed for close to a year, and with the gyms closing, it was hard to keep my previous routine where healthy food, sleep and exercise were my life's foundations. I made an effort to make time for these because I knew how it felt to not have them. During lockdown and without he routine of going to work and gym, I had to change my routine again and learn to love how to work out at home.
    Then I got a job and in just one week and with getting used to working from home, I started to wake up later and snack too much. After one week I felt so much like shit, it was the wake up call I needed. I'm back to waking up at 6, put my workout before work and counting my calories. I need this to feel good and work well

    Looove this video and the "Ball" analogy because it's so true. Right now, I'm working full time, in graduate school full time, working on my fitness, and family obligations and taking care of the huge responsibilities first has been the easiest and fastest way to stay productive and motivated. Just 3 years ago, I blamed my shortcomings on everything under the sun until I switched my priorities. Great video!

    This video is great. Re positive affirmations: my favorite spin class is with this dude who plays lots of classic rock (i.e., Queen, ELO, Rush) and is always yelling affirmations to us ("you're strong, you're awesome and you can do this," "you're stronger than this hill," "you're better off than when we started class"). Not every instructor is like this and, when I wasn't fast enough to book my fave's class on Tues evening, I decided to take a long lunch and book a mid-day class....BIG mistake. Her method was to scream at everyone ("DON'T TOUCH THE RESISTANCE") or be ridiculously aggressive ("THIS SHOULD HURT, GET USED TO DISCOMFORT"). I made it 20 min before realizing that she was putting me in a much less healthy headspace than if I just didn't take the class. It makes a huge difference and maybe some people respond to it, but judging by the attendance compared to every other cycle class at this Y, not many do...

    I recommend a book calles. "Atomic Habits" by James Clear for everyone who wants to know more about how habits control our lives and how we can use them to become BUFF!

    To all the Buff Dudes or people reading this, for me it's all about having a plan or goal and sticking with it.
    And always apply the "Golden Rule" as soon as you wake up, treat others as you would want to be treated by a stranger.
    Everyone has it hard in life, some way worse than others. Always tell yourself that before you wanna be rude or mean to the next person who did nothing to you.(Karma!...it's a real thing!) I try to do that on a daily basis, the key word is "Try"! Some days are better than others, but as long as you wake up with a good and healthy mentality. There is absolutely nothing you can't accomplish and take in the world. Hope it helps everyone and remember to Stay Buff!😎💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼

    This is really true though. The only reason I ever go to the gym is because I go with my friends, and whenever they dont go, I convince myself Im busy and just play on my phone, even though I consider working out to be my passion, im just too fucking lazy to get up without someone making me.

    I'll finally try Hello fresh. I used to meal prep all the time, but quarantine made me get nonstop takeout and drink. I've been making some progress, but now I REALLY need to save money, and spending like 20 bucks for every delivery is adding up. So hopefully this helps me get out of my comfort zone and get back to not only cooking, but try new methods of cooking and recipes. Wish me luck!

    Love you guys and all that good stuff, but I think you are assuming people don't have real big problems in their lives that they simply can't handle and drives them down. I think it is a little insensitive of you guys not to consider that.
    You guys are portraying some "FREE WILL" type of philosophy but in reality you guys are the way you are mostly because you have had great parents, never being discriminated, live in a rich country, never been abused physically or mentally, are not poor, etc... (Or do you think the native Americans didn't think positive enough and that is the reason why they were exterminated)
    If only it was as simple as you suggested it would be one happy world I tell you.
    I am not saying the whole thing is monolithic but if you don't see people being productive as you guys, chances are they can't handle their problems and do not have energy, help nor knowledge to do anything about it.
    Otherwise why most people aren't following their dreams and instead have a 9 to 5 job they hate just to keep his/her family going?
    So... Great Video, nice message, but this issue is way DEEPER than that.
    About 690 million people worldwide go to bed hungry each night. (Action Against Hunger) just to mention one little problem you can't solve just by changing your mindset.

    Gyms in my country are still closed since May 2020, all gyms in my city went bankrupt already. I'm not making excuses but it's somewhat hard to squat, dl and curl without equipment...

    Positive reinforcement is one the worst thing in my opinion. It creates that fake bubble that things are not that bad. This kind of acting is pissing me off even when I just randomly hear it somewhere. "You're great and you can acomplish whatever you want." ---> +100 % blood presure.
    Stict pure reality and negative reinforcement is the best option in my opinion.
