@@Bachling1Check with your bank if they charge fees when overseas. It's not huge but be aware. On tubes to get the cheapest fare you must tap in and out but on busses just tap on boarding. There is a daily cap depending on the distance travelled so if the cap was £13 (as an example) once reached you won't pay more.
For the immigration part certain countries, outside of the EU & the UK are eligible to use ePassport gates, that the United States is one of them since 2019.

@@bar10ml44 £12.80 cap is for the oyster and TFL services. The Heathrow Express is more expensive at £23.
